LTG MESSAGE Hey Sky Bisons! I can't believe we're more than half way through our summer of service! In these past couple of months, it felt as if our entire world had been flipped upside down. Despite everything that has been going on, you all continued to participate in service events, raise awareness for social injustices, promote public health and safety, and so much more! I couldn't be more proud to be the LTG of such an amazing division! Each and everyone of you amaze and inspire me with your dedication to Key Club and with your drive to help the community even during some of the most challenging times. I'm still pretty sad that we aren't able to hold meetings in person yet, but it warms my heart to see how many members have been showing up to our DCMs and club meetings on Zoom. I can't wait until we can finally see each other again, but until then, please continue serving and staying safe! Sending my Bison Love, Chelsea Widjaja

SERVICE WEEK During the week of June 15th, D36E collaborated with D37E to host Sky Jellies Service Week. This was a great opportunity to earn service hours and to interact with members in our division as well as those in D37E. On Monday, members had the opportunity to earn up to five hours of service making masks. Dog toy making was the service event on Tuesday, and members could earn up to five hours of service. Wednesday’s event was worker appreciation letters, and Thursday’s event was appreciative mini-posters for seniors. Finally, the week ended with color for smiles and origami for hope service events; accompanied by a movie. This week was an inventive way to continue with our service and social events despite being unable to meet in person.

This past June, Redlands East Valley Key clubbers have been encouraged to play the mobile app Free Rice. Free rice is also a website that gives ten grains of rice per trivia question the player gets correct. The rice gets donated around the globe through the organization, World Food Programme. Above is a screenshot of the Bison's president Emily Castro completing the trivia levels on Free Rice giving 6,000 grains of rice!

Although COVID-19 has impacted our world drastically, Key Club members at Redlands East Valley have been actively working to create face masks for our healthcare workers to create a safer community and work space. The Bisons have collaborated with the D37E Jellyfish to make homemade and reusable masks. The image above is a picture of REV Key Club secretary’s (Audrey Yoh’s) masks she created from scrap fabric.

DNE MESSAGE Hi Sky Bisons! I'm Inara Khankashi. I know it sounds immensely clichÊ, but I am truly beyond grateful to be serving this wonderful division as the new DNE! I pledge my unwavering dedication to attaining our goals and futhering our community! I'm aware that quarantine has frustrated and exhausted us all, but I encourage everyone to reach out and continue to uplift and serve their community to combat this force. Talk to friends and family, utilize this time to enjoy new hobbies, relax, fight for racial equality, and get into the character development montage. Remember to relentlessly pester freshmen and non Key Club friends to join this school year and find a warm community and introduce them to enriching experiences.
