Micro scale

We use space syntax to support spatial interventions based on current situation and assess the improvement of proposed spatial integration. With space syntax, we can see the potential of streets which might not directly relate to the hierarchy of itself. It also can imply the new centrality or location for new services.

We mainly test on road networks of meso scale. First one is global integration to see general integration of area. Existing industry and roads’ integration can suggest adjusting network density, public transportation distribution and air pollution control as well. Lands below 0.5m refer to the safety of streets and call for sponge development. Emergency road systems are also put on agenda when flood comes. The second one is topological step depth of selected important axes to assess proposed changes, and to adjust planned movement and centers, such as the vocational or new market node along infrastructure or waterfront.
