The Bridge Lifestyle Hub Location: AbuDhabi - UAE Area: 8000 sqm Type: Health & Fitness The Bridge concept comes from a combination of two ideas, One space that bridges all aspects of one’s life, work, play and personal and physical development. The second idea is the combination of science and art to deliver a superior design-driven intuitive experience. The project features seven tracks (move, pause, taste, seek, choose, expand, and learn), combined into an ethereal and customised individual journey that are spread across three floors and a roof garden lounge.

AlSayegh Residence Location: Amman - Jordan Area: 3280 sqm Type: Residential The design reacts strongly to it’s enviroment, topography, views, land shape, characterize the building and shape it’s design. The interior of the house is generously opening up to the various visuals of the surrounding enviroment. The main entrance is marked by reflective pools, the master bedroom area hovers over the entrance making a shaded space for parking and guiding towards the entrance. The use of materials was kept simple. White porcelain for the floors, white fiber cement for the exterior cladding, and white and grey wood for the interior carpentry, all giving the building a lighter and spacious effect.

Concept Store Location: Amman - Jordan Area: 530 sqm Type: Commercial Located in Jabal Amman the project serves as a supportive space for local artists to create, sell and show their arts to the public, and as a social space where guests can relax, connect, eat and drink. The project accommodates different spaces, a gallery, retail spaces (furniture, clothes, pottery, homeware, paintings, shoes, jewellery and accessories), and restaurant/cafe. The new extension design doesn’t compete against the historic building, therefore, it’s pushed to the back to show as much as possible of the existing building elevation and material, glass is heavily used to have transparency, natural light, and to have visual connection from outside to inside.

Alexandria Culture Center Graduation Project The site is located in Azarita district near Alexandria Library on ElGaish Road. It’s used as a parking space and there is an abandoned building located in the site borders. Roman, baroque, modern and contemporary architecture styles are seen in the area that surrounds the site. The building’s form is inspired from the Mediterranean sea rocks. The shape of the building is formed by connecting the site with the culture centres and historical ruins of Alexandria city creating a grid that forms the shape. The building has a pix-elated facade that represents photographs as it is seen from far away as one unit and when get closer to the building the complexity of the facade will arise.

Diversity/Connectivity The concept of diversity encompasses acceptance and respect. It means understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences. These can be along the dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or other ideologies. It’s the exploration of these differences in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment. It’s about understanding each other and moving beyond simple tolerance to embracing and celebrating the rich dimensions of diversity contained within each individual. The culture centre will embrace this diversity architecturally, and presents a unique opportunity to examine cultural diversity. It involves having a multitude of people from different backgrounds and cultures together in the same envi-

ronment working for the same goals. In trying to cultivate tolerance, acceptance, and appreciation of cultural diversity, cultural oasis should keep a basic, but paradoxical, multicultural concept: All people share the same basic needs and values, but differ in how they meet those needs and express those values. Connectivity means to link our past with our present through connecting the cultural spaces located near the site with the culture oasis and also with each other by the contribution between them to have various cultural activities. The culture centre will act as a bridge that links the past with the present and future and it will create a cultural zone with the surrounding cultural spaces that has its own character and identity, and will introduce the people to the existing different culture spaces that exist in the city.

The architectural style is inspired from the modern Islamic architecture style, as the Al-Fustat is the first capital in Egypt under Muslim rule. The courtyards are the dominate elements in the project for they provide ventilation, sun light and also as a gathering place for the people to communicate. Workshops, bazaars and galleries are provided in the project in order to preserve the craftsmen’s work and to encourage other people to join them and teach them in the training and development centre where they can learn different crafts. The project also includes an archaeology museum, library, indoor/outdoor theatre and storages for the workshops.
