THOUGHTS TO P O N D E R

‘Quick-Fixes’ for the Airport There are countless issues that need attention at Jeddah’s airport. So while the new one is still under construction, we’re proposing a few minor quick-fixes that would really go a long way! Firstly, it would be nice if the staff were friendlier and more informative. Why not foster a more positive spirit we’d all benefit from? Also, after passport control, sometimes there’s someone else checking your passport, but he might not! Why is he there? There

should be an indication of another inspection. After going through security, there’s no proper area to gather your belongings and get yourself together. A bench or two would be a great addition. Also, they ask you to fold your baby’s stroller when passing through the metal detectors! It’s ridiculous! This is awful when just one parent is traveling with their child, it would be better to inspect manually sometimes. There are plenty more improvements that don’t need a big budget, just a little bit of creative thinking!

Thumbs up to...

Less Trouble for Traveling Women

It’s absolutely fabulous that women can travel without renewing their permission card every time. It used to be that whenever a woman travels, she must present a new one from her father or husband every single time. The update allows the proof of permission to be stored in each person’s profile at the airport’s system. This make matters much easier for the men as well, and it’s continuously valid until the passport expires. This is great for women who need to travel under short notice for work or other urgent matters while her husband or father isn’t around.

Thumbs Down to...

Lack of Signs at Malls

Thankfully Jeddah has many great shopping malls, and some of them are huge! Unfortunately however, it can be quite annoying to get around them. There are never any information desks or anyone to ask – you end up having to ask the guy mopping by the bathroom door. How is someone supposed to know which stores they have? Or where to find the one they want? Also, there aren’t any signs that direct you to certain areas like the food court or the kid’s area or even ones that show you where the exits are. Just a few simple signs will do guys!

BEAT the HEAT

By the way, Jeddah’s humidity and temperature is relatively comfortable to stand as compared to most of the other parts of the Kingdom. During summer, Jeddah is more likely to see mercury soaring above 40 degree Celsius at the day time while nights may see temperature mainly around 30 degree Celsius. However, this doesn’t mean you do not need any precautionary measures to beat the heat.

HERE ARE SOME SIMPLE MEASURES THAT WILL KEEP YOU PROTECTED: Stay mostly indoors between 10am and 3pm. In short, avoid exposing yourself to the noon sun as much as possible. Stay hydrated. Drink as much water as you can along with fruit juices and Labban. Add yogurt to your diet. Eat a lot of fruits like water melons, oranges, limes and coconuts. Wear pure cotton clothes that are breathable and protect you from possible skin infections due to excessive sweating and heat. Add loads of cool light colors to your wardrobe. Light colors absorb less heat and light, thus keeping you cool. Use sun block lotions while going out. Keep your sunglasses with you at all times. For men: Carry caps while you are out. For women try wearing light colored hijab (or abaya if you don’t mind) Keep your windows, balconies and doors shut to avoid hot air getting inside. Try adding indoor plants in your home that produce oxygen which helps keeping you and your place refreshed. Planting an outdoor plant is a virtue and also a wise effort to keep your environment protected. Be a good neighbor and place some water coolers or dispensers for passers-by so that they stay hydrated and healthy. 22 DESTINATION JEDDAH

Be an equestrian: Saudi Arabian culture cannot be completed without equestrianism and it is creeping into expats’ lifestyle here too. There can be nothing more relaxing than horsebackriding. Park Hyatt Hotel, Kinddah Equestrian Club and Open Skies Club provide courses to male and females of any age and for any level. Open Skies also provide Hippotherapy for disabled children.

Fun for kids at theme parks: What can be more fun for kids than to have good 2-3 hours enjoying different kinds of rides? Jeddah has an unimaginable number of theme parks in almost every area. Some malls have a dedicated area for rides with different themes. Some even have special water activities. Corniche area has many such theme parks which happen to be for all ages. Where to go? • Al-Shallal Theme Park • Fun Times • Chuck e Cheese • Ataullah Theme Park

Jeddah’s Who’s Who Kamal Jamjoom :

The Man Behind KSA’s Leading Brands By Rayan Khyat

In the past couple of decades, the Kamal Osman Jamjoom Group (KOJ) has been one of Saudi’s leading businesses since its inception. The group is not only a franchisor, but an extremely successful independent brand originator. Their popular women’s chain Nayomi and the fanciful cosmetic brand Mikyajy will soon be joined by an upscale men’s clothing store called Mihyar. The brains behind these successful brands is visionary Kamal Jamjoom; his business savvy and focus on people, products, customer service, and shareholder profits has resulted in a business force which continues to grow annually across KSA and into the GCC. Kamal Jamjoom grew up in Jeddah and attended high school in Lebanon and the UK. He continued on to university in the UK where he studied electrical engineering. After college, he spent 7 years gaining valuable business experience at Proctor & Gamble in the manufacturing, management, and marketing sectors. He began the Kamal Osman Jamjoom Group LLC in 1987 with the introduction of The Body Shop franchise into KSA.

A Day in the Life: 5:30 - Out of bed 7:00 - At his desk + Checks E-mails 7:30 - Call kids to make sure they’re on the way to school 8:00 - 5:00 - Meetings + A quick lunch 6:00 - 9:00 - Go home and play with his kids + Go to the gym 10:00 - Bedtime

24 DESTINATION JEDDAH

Jamjoom carefully studied the Saudi market and the consumer demands which resulted in the creation of the Nayomi lingerie brand – an overwhelming success which now boasts more than 140 stores across the GCC. Mikyajy soon followed, along with the introduction of world-famous franchises such as The Early Learning Center and Bebe. Jamjoom’s goal is to fill a market niche with his brands, keep the customer’s needs in mind, and above all, create employment opportunities for hard-working Saudis. With over 500 stores, 2,500 employees, and an annual turnover of over SAR1 Billion, KOJ is a leader in the region. Jamjoom’s latest endeavor is the Mihyar shop for men. The deluxe shop seeks to redefine the shopping experience for men in Jeddah with a luxurious atmosphere coupled with quality service. Mihyar will offer a thobe tailor, headdresses and accoutrements, a variety of accessories such as perfumes and watches, a barber shop, and a coffee shop. Mirroring the clothing color scheme of the quintessential Arab

man, the store’s aesthetic is a classic black and white. With the help of international designers, Jamjoom has created a sleek store design that is a refuge from the hectic daily lives of the Jeddah man. The Jamjoom Group plans to open an additional 100 stores this year between all their brands. Jamjoom says, “I would like to continue to create more interesting brands in the market and we’re encouraged by the government to pursue business excellence. The Gulf economies continue to enjoy high growth rates. Businessmen have been given a great opportunity, and it’s their duty to create jobs for young people within the community. By opening 100-150 stores, 500 new jobs will be created”

To achieve your dreams, get the best education that you can get, work really hard, and wake up very early...If you can do that ..you will find that the best opportunities will land at your feet.

He adds, “In our company, we believe we have to take care of our people. We plan to create jobs for men and women, and we intend to take care of expatriate workers who have been working with us for a long time. My intention is to transfer non-Saudi workers to neighboring GCC countries where they can also work in our stores. By ensuring more jobs for Saudis, we can help many families and ensure a better future for the country.” Jamjoom’s advice for young, aspiring businesspeople is to get the best education that money can buy. “Get up really early and work really hard. It all depends on how much ambition you have; if you have dreams of great success, work for the best companies and the best managers when you’re young. If you do that for 10 years and you become a successful, ambitious, professional manager… you’ll find that the best opportunities will land at your feet.”

Annual Bride Show By Noha Youssef

The 3rd Annual Bride Show was held at the Hilton Hotel from April 1-4. This year, the wedding exhibition was well prepared to serve the modern and the new generation of brides; different exhibitors showcased bridal gowns, bridal accessories, jewelry, furniture, clothes, wedding planning services, cosmetics, and everything else that a bride may need for her special day. Brides-to-be, together with their fiancÊs and family members, were able to gather information and have one-onone conversations with individuals who provided products and services for wedding ceremonies. Wedding planners and wedding caterers brought in samples of their work to entice their target audience. Women were able to indulge themselves in beauty sessions and receive inspiration from the work of Jeddah’s

Prestigious beauty salons from Jeddah were among the exhibitors, and they were demonstrating live hair and makeup tutorials to show young brides a variety of looks to select from. The exhibition was deemed an overwhelming success judging from the variety of exhibitors who were offering creative and unique options allowing young couples to plan the perfect wedding.

It was an all-out geeky affair on the 19th of April, where over 80 attendees celebrated their inner geekness at the first official ‘GeekFest’event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Both male and female individuals with interests in science, innovation and technology met with others with similar pursuits in addition to experts and consumers who are updated on the latest gadgets in the market. Geekfest is an event which originated in Dubai in 2009 and was later picked up across Middle-Eastern and North African countries. Its long-awaited arrival in Saudi Arabia was made possible via its main ‘unorganizer’ Khayra Bundakji. The title ’unorganizer’ refers to the event planners, giving attendees true credit for the shaping of the organization.

The “Unorganizers”

The event was held in two separate locations to meet Saudi norms. The male venue was held at Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab) Arabia in Dallah Tower, which is an initiative under the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), as for the ladies’ venue, it was provided by‘Tashkeil’. A company that aspires towards reintroducing creatives in the Middle East as active stakeholders in the global arena. “It is a great way to bring together developers, bloggers, social media enthusiasts and online enthusiasts in an offline social event.” said Yolanda Perez, Tashkeil partner. The essential focus of the evening were the ‘GeekTalks’ where speakers such as Sofana Dahlan (Tashkeil CEO), Dania Alhamrani (EggDancer Productions CEO), Eric Martin (KAUST Venture Lab Manager) and Mohamed Tayyeb (Fablab Manager) gave casual yet enlightening discussions with the audience. Geeks later enjoyed a friendly competition, trying out different games in the market through ‘GameFest’. Sponsors included ArtStuff and Lightbites, as well as Microsoft and Nokia, which both showcased their latest products during what was called “ Technocase’ and gave attendees a detailed look into what both companies are introducing to the market. GeekFest is a much-needed enthusiastic hub - hopefully there will be many more to look forward to in Jeddah’s future.

Every once in a while, there’s a new place in Jeddah that has everyone talking, tweeting or blogging about. “Have you been to The Store?” “What store?” “THE Store” “What...?” So what is this mysterious store all about? Two inspiring entrepreneurs, Rasha Al Zahid and Arwa Ghalib, set out to create an exciting getaway, a comfortable hang out, a rustic clubhouse for girls where different finds from around the world have been collected. Kind of a home away from home. The first two floors are scattered with dresses, books, accessories, furniture, posters, a nail salon and every pretty thing you would want around you. At the very top of the clubhouse is the sunny living room-kitchen and balcony where the girls revel in the creations of their ever changing menu of homemade comfort. As owner and buyer of The Store, Rasha Zahid wanted to share with her hometown of Jeddah some of the ideas, styles and dishes she has grown to love while living abroad. The atmosphere she has created is a mixture of California style comfort combined with French vintage and some Tribal motifs mixed in. Zahid is somewhat of a perfectionist and designing the large store took a lot of effort. She had a DIY, homemade and antiquated feel in mind and used second hand wood and reclaimed materials for a lived-in atmosphere. The clothes she has chosen are also comfortable, basic and fun. She has also collected vintage furnishings and accessories from Africa, Bali and areas of Europe. Her favorite stores

32 DESTINATION JEDDAH

abroad that inspired her include Anthropologie the Old Hollywood in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. In Jeddah, she loves Jasmine Box, Rumana and Rawai Al Maktabat. For her own store, Rasha wanted to create a dynamic place that’s always changing, and where everything you see is for sale. Arwa joined a few months before The Store opened as the kitchen manager and she shared Rasha’s love for cooking and baking. On working together, Rasha says that Arwa “is also my cousin and great friend. We make a good combination, and mesh perfectly.” They’re always on the same wavelength and dividing the work according to their strengths. Their favorite part of the job is working together and being creative on a daily basis. Arwa shares that it’s the best feeling being excited to go to work and that’s how it is with The Store. Their menu consists of mainly American comfort food, like sloppy joes, tacos and breakfast that’s served all day! Not to mention their pumpkin pie, coconut cake and countless baked goods that are lined up. Their goal to be homey doesn’t stop there, they even make their own bread and jam.

My passion is with the food, hands down. I love creating new recipes with Arwa for breakfast, for snacks or just for kicks! - Rasha

I wanted to create a place where people can get away yet feel at home - Rasha

The third floor is set up with comfy couches, board games, and a TV. Who says going out with a group of friends in Jeddah has to be a shisha cafe or a stiff restaurant? Although for Arwa and Rasha, the beach is a great escape with friends in Jeddah every weekend. Rasha loves hanging out at The Store by day, and ordering take out with her Apple TV by night, a classic time here in Jeddah. Arwa loves checking out the new restaurants and outdoor activities like DoMore’s Eco-tourism. However, the girls are inviting everyone to join in on the fun at their clubhouse, where they’re more concerned with creating a fun atmosphere with great food than with selling clothes. The Store doesn’t claim to be THE Store, where it’s all happening, but that it’s more of just ‘the store’ next door.

Hekaya,

Performing Our Stories Hekaya Productions is Jeddah’s very own theatre troupe that started in a small room with a group of women with a passion for storytelling. Their goal was to approach different aspects of Islamic and Arab societies through the art of performance to raise awareness of some of the ongoing issues we’re living through today. On April 18th, Dar Al-Hekma College hosted Hekaya’s second production, “Sabahek Sama.” In this bittersweet social comedy, an ambitious twenty-something Saudi girl named Sama has many plans for her life but, most importantly, she wants to write. She started a book that she wants to publish, but her family and friends had different plans for her future. Her mother and grandmother wanted her to choose her husband from a catalog and forget all about about her dream! Sama became under so much pressure and was conflicted between her heart’s desires and surrendering to her family’s wishes.

42 DESTINATION JEDDAH

And just as how some things work out sometimes, Sama went ahead and published her book, but no one expected the publisher to fall in love and propose to her! Hekaya Production’s plays have been lauded for touching upon sensitive and relevant issues, and for their highly professional productions. Their first play, “Like the Smell of Oranges,” revealed the struggles of our brothers and sisters in the blessed land of Palestine. Hekaya Productions will hopefully not disappoint their avid fanbase and continue staging remarkable performances.

Saudiaat 4th Art Exhibition By Noha Youssef

Under the patronage of Dr. Suhair Hassan El Qurashi, president of Dar Al Hekma University, the 4th Saudiaat art exhibition was held from the 8th until the 18th of April at Rochan Art Gallery. The Saudiaat art group is a collaboration of Saudi women artists, founded by Mrs. Samiah Mohamed Khashoggi in 2005, who female artists created a local artistic environment for women. Saudiaat works to unveil the diverse identities of Saudi women through art, it also helps rectify the misinterpreted image that the West has of Saudi women, through demonstrating their artistic and intellectual abilities that nullifies that concept. Saudiaat aims to expose the general public to various artistic ideas, techniques & methodologies of female artists. Saudiaat group has successfully held three exhibitions, Identities unveiled in 2005, Expressions in 2006, Dialogues in 2008 and lastly “Directions” which was the 4th Saudiaat Exhibition to be held at Rochan gallery. The members of Saudiaat group are Reeda Ashour, Effat Fadaq, Wafa Karsha, Samiah Khashoggi, Ayman Mahawi, Maha Mufti, Wafa Al-Mihdar, Reem Nazir & Ibtisam Rufae. “For me, art has to be authentic and genuine, it’s an experience worth reflecting and sharing however this process takes time. I started as a representational artist

and gradually steered towards stylized and abstract art full of symbolism and wider options that allowed me to be more visually articulate, frequently adding humor to my depicted subjects “says Saudiaat founder Samiah Khashoggi. Beside the artwork of the group members, another talented and great artists displayed their artwork under the name “Saudiaat friends”, among those artists were Basmah Felemban, Wejdan Al Amoudi, Ahaad Al Amoudi, Iman Islam, Lina Kobeissi, Hanaa Koshaim, Tereza Strautmane & Najwa Yacoub.

Travel Motive:

Frivolous Distraction or Self-Discovery? By Mariam Polding

“I shall pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.” - Mahatma Gandhi Compelled by an inner awakening to initiate something that would start the alleviation of hardship to even just a few of the over 1 million children orphaned by the HIV/AIDS and malaria pandemics ravaging the country she once called home, Zarina Malecki, with the support of her friend, Anne AlHamrani, built the Fatima Centre for orphaned children in Losa, Malawi. The Centre’s mission is to better the lives of children and to help them to become self-sufficient members of their society, by providing them with long-term care, which includes basic needs, healthcare, education and skills necessary to transform them into responsible citizens. “Just before the Fatima Centre was constructed, we commissioned the digging of the first water well in the village. Prior to that, the village had no potable water and the villagers had to walk hours just to bring back drinking water daily,” - shared Malecki, founder of Fatima Centre. Surrounded amidst the luscious mountain backdrop of the majestic Mount Mulange, the Fatima Centre currently houses 11 children, aged from 6 months to 7 years, and gives these children proper nourishment, a real home, an academic and religious education and hope for the future. “On the road from the airport into the town your senses are immediately assaulted by African aromas, burning wood, cooking pots and aspects of the unique terrain all compete for your gaze, mountains, forests, grass, and extraordinary flowers. And you see people walking everywhere, to work, to their homes, to the market, to friends, amidst discarded sugar cane – one of the staple foods of this country where sugar is vital for their energy,” - reminisced a nostalgic Malecki. It is here, in the land-locked south eastern corner of Africa, that Iman Attar, the first time Fatima Centre volunteer from Saudi, took a journey of discovery into herself and fell in love with the “Warm heart of Africa.” “I have to be honest, it wasn’t easy. Living in Saudi Arabia, we are accustomed to luxury and comfort. But when you go and volunteer at the Centre and at the orphanage you become acutely aware of everything we have to be thankful for. These children had nothing, absolutely nothing. No hope for the future, no chance for an education, no love. Fatima Centre is the surrogate mother that is giving them all of this, and it’s amazing to be a small part of the positive impact they are having on the community,” - elaborates Iman. 72 DESTINATION JEDDAH

Heavily reliant on foreign aid, which was recently suspended due to political upheavals, have further exacerbated the shaky economy of one of Africa’s least developed nations, resulting in severe cuts to the already meager social spending. Children made parentless due to the HIV/AIDS and malaria pandemics sweeping across the country have become further impoverished by these cuts to social and welfare programs, upon which their survival is vital. Where the government skirts their social responsibility, Christian and Jewish missionaries are addressing the aid vacuum, while also converting Malawians from Islam. “These people are starving and neglected, then they see an impressive and beautiful church or synagogue with friendly people clothing and feeding them. Who can blame them, people go where the food is, where the beauty is, and they end up converting. But glaringly absent is the lack of aid arriving from Islamic countries save Kuwait, the only Gulf country with a donor presence in Malawi,” - Attar explained. For a time, Malawi became synonymous with Madonna’s adoption woes, as networks aired her continual legal battles in the adoption of baby David. We may not all be willing to go and adopt a child, but we can do the next best thing, sponsor one, and give a child a new lease on life that every child so deserves.

“There was a 6 month-old orphan, baby Adam, that was constantly crying, because he didn’t know how to suckle and wasn’t able to drink milk. It was just shocking, this baby never had a chance to feed from his mother, so the usually natural inclination to suckle, was nonexistent,” shared an emotional Attar. Relying entirely on donations to help fund the orphanage, when in Jeddah, Malecki and Alhmarani host charity dinners, auctions, and have launched an abaya label, ZarAn.

“There are many ways to contribute. Fatima Centre is recruiting volunteers for short trips that can help with the construction, organization or administration of objectives such as: Digging deep-water wells, installing solar panels, building dormitories, staff quarters, a running track, a sewing centre, a library, and a dispensary,” - emanates Iman Attar with contagious enthusiasm. The Centre has future plans to run an on-site bakery, manage a farm, and at later stage, offer after school activities for the children. The next getaway you plan, consider taking an altruistic adventure of a lifetime… consider Malawi and consider the hope you can spread throughout the “Warm heart of Africa.” “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the things you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover,” - Mark Twain. For more information on how to become a volunteer or a sponsor call Iman Attar: Tel: +966-2-505626459 Email: iman.attar@hotmail.com / Zarina Malcki Tel: +966-2-501617706 Web: www.fatimacentremalawi.org, donate, volunteer, sponsor a child, buy an abaya, but just do something! Your First Choice for Medical Imaging By Fouzia Ali Azam

Radiology is an important diagnostic medical procedure where the patients and doctors get a confirmed diagnosis of an ailment based on a detailed analysis of the patient’s condition through several procedures such as X-rays, ultrasound, MRI etc. and many more. However, recently, the radiology diagnostic procedures weren’t just limited to hospitals but rather took a different route when the first specialized and fully equipped radiology center was finally established as the “first” center of its kind existing in the Kingdom: First Scan. In 2007, First Scan, an exclusive radiology center was inaugurated by expert Saudi radiologist and doctor, Dr. Sattam Lingawi. First Scan is a unique concept in the world of diagnostic imaging. Dr. Lingawi, who is also the Founder and the First President of the first Radiological Society of Saudi Arabia has 32 published journals and two published books in the field of radiology to his name. As an expert radiologist, he strives to impart the highest level of service and diagnosis to his patients. Certified by the American and Canadian Board of Radiologists, his vision for First Scan is clear. Uncompromised quality and dedicated efforts in providing the cutting-edge technology to the patients of Saudi Arabia along with double accurate diagnostic results by the experts is evident for the First Scan clinic whereby making the vision of the center striving to achieve excellence on providing unique high quality professional radiology services locally. First Scan delivers several radiological procedures for their clients with the latest technology such as CT (computerized tomography), MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), X-ray, Ultrasound (4D), Mammography, Fluoroscopy, Bone densitometry, Varicose Veins clinic, Intervention and Pain management clinic. 84 DESTINATION JEDDAH

First Scan features its center of excellence in being the first tilted MRI facility in the Middle East along with pediatric imaging. The unique tilted MRI service offered by First Scan ensures that there is little psychological stress for the patient thereby offering a high precision diagnosis of the ailment for the doctors and the patient. The Varicose Veins clinic features a laser treatment of the ailment that requires no surgical intervention to treat this condition and very short recovery period from this painless procedure ensures that First Scan is the most reliable convenient place to have the procedure done. First Scan services are not exclusively dependent on machines. What makes this place unique is the way the experts make an experience of the patient and/or the doctor worthwhile as their work is not limited to just “machine-produced” reports. Each department in this facility is led by an expert radiologist with several years of experience specializing in their own field. Therefore, an expert radiologist specializing in diagnosing mammogram reports deals exclusively with the mammogram reports and an expert radiologist in bone densitometry will deal with their specialist diagnostic reports thereby adding double accuracy and reliability to the patient diagnostic data. The patient reports are not being dealt by any random radiologist but rather an expert who would confirm an accurate diagnosis (reducing the chances of wrong diagnosis) and offering a guaranteed quality radiology service. All the expert radiologists at First Scan are Saudis and are American and/or Canadian Board Certified radiologists. With the highest precision, quality service and expert opinions, Dr. Lingawi brings the best international radiology expertise to the Kingdom making it “your” first choice to rely on for the best diagnosis and diagnostic procedures. Product of the Month! REN

Q&A Q: I get darker over the summer months and then blush never seems to show up on me. Do you have any tips?

A: The golden rule is the darker your skin, the brighter the blush should be. To begin with never judge a blush by the way it looks – you have to try it! Try a bright pink or cranberry blush as they will add a soft glow of color against darker skin tones. Also, because these type of colors are deeply pigmented, no need to worry about an ashy complexion. Don’t feel you must wear blush for the sake of wearing it – regular bronzer often is enough for darker skin.

HOT

Beauty Tips

When the weather is hot, many women find it impossible to find a makeup look that will last and remain comfortable. If you think you can’t wear makeup in the summer, you’re wrong. Just prep the skin appropriately, wear the right products, and drink lots of water! Here are some of the best beauty products to keep you looking beautifully matte and shine-free all day long.

Blotting Powder Sun Screen

Over-exposure to the sun is the #1 cause of wrinkles and fine lines. Protect your skin by wearing SPF, every time you leave the house. Remember to apply it half an hour before you step into the sun for the best protection. To make life simple, look for 2-in-1 products like foundations or moisturizers that also contain high SPF.

Many women do not realize the benefits of using a blotting powder. A blotting powder has zero color – you apply it with a powder puff and it mattes your complexion along with setting your makeup. No shine and a beautiful yet natural complexion - it’s a genius product!

Try MAC Blot Powder

Stains

Summer brings the heat, so avoid sweating off your regular powder blush and lipstick by switching to a stain. Stains are easy to apply, incredibly natural looking, and impart a long-lasting color.

Try Pond’s Gold Radiance Day Cream SPF 15

Try Benefits Range of Tints

Bronzing Makeup

Bronze skin is beautiful, but instead of exposing yourself to the harsh rays of the sun, add some sun kissed glow to your skin by using a bronzer. There are a variety of great bronzers and foundations in the market to help you achieve the perfect bronze glow.

Try Guerlain Terracotta Bronzer & Chanel Bronzing Base – a killer combo

Primer

Primers are a must! They are applied on top of your day cream, but under your foundation. Primers help to fill in fine lines and wrinkles, allows your makeup to last longer, even out the complexion, absorb oil and some even minimize pores! What’s not to love?
