HISTORIE VON DER BIKESCHMIEDE ZUM INTERNATIONALEN PRODUZENTEN Dabei fing alles klein an, als Konrad Irlbacher Senior, ein leidenschaftlicher Skirennläufer, 1970 in Rosenheim den IKO Sportfachhandel gründete. 1982 begann sein Sohn Konrad mit dem Verkauf von Rädern und Ersatzteilen, aus dem sich bald eine leistungsfähige Technikschmiede entwickeln sollte. Als Händler und Importeur bekannter Marken, vor allem aus Italien, sammelte das junge Unternehmen unter der Leitung von Konrad Irlbacher eine Menge Knowhow. Unter dem Markennamen corratec wurden 1990 die ersten eigenen Bikes bis heute produziert.

From humble beginnings, Konrad Irlbacher senior – a passionate ski racer – founded a sporting goods retail shop (IKO) in Rosenheim, Germany, in 1970. In 1982, his son Konrad started to sell bikes and parts and thus fostered an efficient company with expertise. As a dealer and importer of well-known brands, especially from Italy, the still young company accumulated technical know-how under the lead of Konrad Irlbacher. In 1990, bicycles under the name corratec were produced for the very first time – until this day.

ERFOLGREICHSTE MARKE BEIM GIRO D‘ITALIA 2005 UND SIEGER DER BERGTRIKOTS Beim Giro d’Italia im Jahr 2005 gelingt corratec der bisher größte Erfolg: erfolgreichste Marke des Giro d’Italia! Der venezolanische Radprofi José Rujano vom Team Columbia-Selle Italia konnte das grüne Berg trikot gewinnen.. Zusätzlich sicherte sich das Team mit den Rädern aus dem Hause corratec 3 Etappensiege und wird sogar noch dritter der Gesamtwertung. Einen großen Anteil am erfolgreichen Abschneiden haben die maßgeschneiderten Carbonrahmen von Mauro Sannino.

CORRATEC IN THE MOST SUCCESSFUL BRAND AT GIRO D‘ITALIA AND WINNER OF THE KING OF THE MOUNTAIN JERSEY At the Giro d‘Italia 2005, corratec achieved one of their biggest successes: most successful brand of the race! The Venezulan Cyclist José Rujao from Team Columbia-Selle won the King of the Mountain Jersey, in addition the team won 3 stages on their corratec bikes. A huge part of the success were the custom-made carbon frames from Mauro Sannino.

ZAHLREICHE ERFOLGE AUF DER BAHN Anfang bis Mitte der 90er Jahre dominierte Bruno Risi auf seinem corratec Rad die Szene im Punktefahren. Er konnte zwischen 1991 und 1999 vier Weltmeistertitel in dieser Bahnrad-Disziplin feiern. — COUNTLESS SUCCESSES ON THE TRACK From early to mid 90s, Bruno Risi dominates the Points Race World on his corratec bike. Between 1991 and 1999 he won four World Championships Titles in this Track Discipline.

Zu den erfolgreichsten Moutainbikefahrern der 90er Jahre gehört Jan Ostergaard. Zwei mal stand er auf dem Treppchen des UCI MTB Weltcups. Maßgeblich verantwortlich für den großen Erfolg waren die Mountainbikes der Marke corratec.

Die Brüder Wladimir und Vitali Klitschko sind beide begeisterte Radfahrer. Hierfür haben sie sich persönlich von dem Rahmenbaumeister Mauro Sannino vermessen lassen, um jeweils ein maßgeschneidertes Mountainbike zu bekommen. Mit den Bikes können sich die zwei Boxweltmeister noch besser auf kommende Kämpfe vorbereiten.

The two brothers, Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko are both passionate cyclists. Mauro Sannino personally measured the two World Champions to build and create their own custom-made MTB. With their corratec bikes, the two athletes improve their training and preparations for their upcoming fights.

EPS Normalerweise werden bei der Herstellung eines Carbonrahmens Ballons verwendet. Bei dieser Technik entstehen allerdings Falten im Inneren des Rahmens, oder die Oberfläche ist ungleichmäßig. Expandiertes Polystyriol (EPS) hingegen dehnt sich bei Hitze aus und drückt von Innen gegen das Carbon. Das Ergebnis ist ein leichterer, steiferer und gleichmäßigerer Rahmen.

EPS Traditionally, inflatable bladders are used inside the carbon frame to force the material into the mould, but this technique leaves wrinkles or inconsistent thickness. To avoid this, we use expanded poly styrene. When heated, this material swells and exerts pressure on the inside of the carbon fibre. The result is a lighter, stiffer and more consistent final product.

XTB TEAM DIE XTB RIDER Unser erstes Enduro Team. Das Team aus Rookies und fortgeschrittenen Fahrern kommt aus ganz Österreich und Deutschland. Erklärtes Ziel der Saison ist die Teilnahme an allen Rennen der Specialized SRAM Enduro Series. DIE PHILOSOPHIE Nach der Eurobike 2015 machten wir uns auf die Suche nach aufstrebenden Fahrern, die den Enduro-Lifestyle verkörpern. Nach der Sichtung dutzender Bewerbungen sind wir stolz ein Team mit solch einer Passion auf die Beine gestellt zu haben. Das Augenmerk bei der Teamauswahl waren nicht etwa die besten Platzierungen in der letzten Saison, sondern viel mehr die Hingabe und Liebe zum Endurosport. Die XTB Riders werden nicht nur bei Endurorennen, sondern auch immer mal wieder in neuen Videos und in unseren Social-Media-Kanälen zu sehen sein. The team line-up will present a variety of experienced and rookie riders from Germany and Austria. The main goal for the 2016 season is to participate in all races of the Spezialized Enduro Series.

TEAM-PHILOSOPHY After the Eurobike 2015 we searched for ambitious riders to represent the lifestyle of enduro. We aspire to engage with riders that prove great results to ensure authentic representation of team corratec and XTB selection. After many applications, we can reveal that we have now united a great team of skilled riders with a passion for enduro sport. The team will not only participate in enduro races, but will now also be a featured highlight to present in our new videos and social media-channels. Julian Beigang Julian ist 22 und seit 5 Jahren mit dem Bikevirus infiziert. Am liebsten fährt er in die Alpen zum Biken. 2012 hat Julian das erste Mal an einem Enduro-Rennen teilgenommen. Julian is 22 years old and has been riding since 5 years of age. His favourite biking areas are The Alps. In 2012 he raced his first enduro race.

Christoph Höß Christoph ist mit seinen erst 18 Jahren der Youngster im Team. Seit seinem dritten Lebensjahr dreht sich in seinem Leben alles rund ums Biken und die Berge. 2015 hat er bereits zwei Amateurwertungen in der Enduro-Series gewonnen. 2016 möchte er an diese Erfolge in der Lizenz-Klasse anknüpfen. Christoph at 18 years old, is our youngest team rider. For 15 years, riding and the mountains have been at the center of his life. In 2015 he won two amateur-categories and his goal for 2016 is to be established in the licence category.

Johannes Dietl Johannes ist einer der bekanntesten Biker im Ötztal. Er war in den letzten Jahren u.a. Chefmechaniker beim Haibike Ötztal Mountain biketeam und ist jetzt als Bikeguide aktiv. Er ist jahrelang Mountainbike rennen gefahren und möchte jetzt nochmal im Enduro bereich voll durchstarten. Johannes is one of the most well-known riders of the Ötztal. He has worked for the Haibike Ötztal Mountainbiketeam as a mechanic and is also a bike guide. He has previously raced mountain bike races and now he wishes to restart his career on our XTB 175.

Markus Inreiter Markus kommt aus Österreich und arbeitet im Sommer in Sölden, wo er für die Planung und den Neubau von Biketrails zuständig ist. In der Zwischensaison ist er auch gern mal in anderen Regionen, wie z.B. Südfrankreich, als Bikeguide unterwegs. Markus from Sölden, Austria, is responsible for building new trails. In the shoulder season he loves to explore other areas such as in France or The Canary Islands.

Michael Schomann Micha ist der Oldie mit der meisten ActionsportErfahrung im Team. 2010 hat ihn der MTB Virus infiziert. Da Michi ein erfahrener Actionfotograf ist, wird er das Team bei gemeinsamen Rides und Rennen mit der Kamera begleiten. Micha is the gold of the team. With more than 20 years of experience in the actionsports scene, Micha – as a professional photographer – will capture the best action shots of our riders.

Christoph Pfaffenbichler Christoph ist 26 und ausgebildeter Mountainbike- und Downhill-Freerideguide. Seine Rennsaison 2015 war auf Grund einer Verletzung bereits im Mai vorbei, aber seit Oktober macht er die Trails wieder unsicher und ist motiviert in der Saison 2016 voll anzugreifen. Christoph is 26 years old and is a certified mountainbike- and downhill-freeride guide. His last season was very short due to an injury, however since October last year he is back on his bike and motivated to race for our team.

Der neue, super aerodynamische Rahmen wurde nach NACA 0038 Profil entwickelt und wirkt dadurch aerodynamisch ähnlich einer Tragfläche. Zusammen mit der Pro Control Fork verringert sich der Luftwiderstand (bis zu 17,06 % CW je nach Luftströmung). • Carbon EPS Monocoque Rahmen, leichter und stabiler als normale Layup Methoden. • Entwickelt nach NACA 0038 Profil aus dem Flugzeugbau – aerodynamisch und super leicht. • Breite Abstützung im Tretlagerbereich für maximale Steifigkeit und direkte Kraftübertragung. The new and super aerodynamic frame was designed according to NACA profile 0038 giving it the effect of a wing panel. DESIGNED UND GETESTET IM WINDKANAL — DESIGNED AND TESTED IN THE WIND TUNNEL Der abschließende Aerodynamik-Test wurde im Windkanal der Airbus Defence & Space GmbH in Immenstaad durchgeführt. Die verwendete Messtechnik ist extrem präzise und auf dem neuesten Stand der Technik. Alle Tests der Rennräder (CCT EVO im Vergleich zum Vorgängermodell CCT Pro) wurden mit Anströmwinkeln von -20 bis +20 Grad mit drehenden Rädern bei 45 km/h gemessen. Diese ca. 130 Einzelmessungen je Modell fließen in den berechneten Gesamtwiderstand ein, bei dem die verschiedenen Schräganströmungen gemäß ihrer Wahrscheinlichkeit im realen Einsatz gewichtet werden. Es wurde nur das aufgebaute Rad mit identischen Laufrädern, Lenker und Vorbau gemessen. The concluding aerodynamics test was done in the wind tunnel of Airbus Defence & Space Ltd. in Germany. The technique used is extremely precise and the equipment is start-of-theart. All tests (CCT Evo compared with its predecessor CCT Pro) were done and measured with fl ow angles of -20 to +20 degrees with wheels spinning at 45km/h. Around 130 individual tests per model are analyzed in order to calculate the combined resistance, rating cross flow according to its probability under real conditions. We compared two bikes with standard spec and identical wheelsets, handlebars and stems.
