Remains of a forgotten historical heritage, the ruins of tide mills in Cadiz have prevailed for centuries, lost within the marshes of the bay. They are vestiges of a self-sufficient complex system that was key for the development and growth of the cities in this area. The aim of this project is to recover the entity of these essential places, using the remaining consolidated structure and location of these mills to generate a new livable system that evokes their past rhythm and liveliness. This built footprints are the inspiration for a shelter network, a contained architecture that evokes the past rhythm and liveliness of the tide mills, and eventually restores the human-landscape relationship these places once had.
