Isidro Blasco 'Structures and Passages'

Page 1

Blasco combines architecture, photography and installation to explore themes of vision and perception in relation to the physical experience and space that surrounds us. He says: ‘I very often wonder around cities, looking up and in odd of the buildings and structures. Not just the city I live in but any other place that I visit. I an effort to relate to these new and not so new places I take pictures, lots of pictures. And I think on doing so, there is an emotional restraint that follows me conveying not destruction but disorientation, the unsettlingly simultaneous expansion and compression of space that the urban dweller experiences and that I am trying to reflect with these works.” Isidro Blasco is held in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art in New York, The Whitney Museum of American Art, The Chicago Institute of Contemporary Art, The Baltimore Museum of Art and many International Museums.
