Message from the president AIESEC United Arab Emirates in 2010/2011 Dear reader, Thank you for taking the time to read this newsletter from AIESEC in the UAE. The new year has started off strongly for us with 4 incoming internships facilitated and realized and one 1 outgoing. AIESEC UAE is keen on providing these life changing experiences to the youth of the UAE through its exchange program. Once again we would like to acknowledge all of our partners that help in facilitating the exchange program as its a a life changing opportunity for one young person p and your support is what helps us in creating this impact. Another highlight of the year so far is our National Leadership Development Seminar that took place at Zayed University Dubai. AIESEC members took part in leadership sessions and trainings so that they are prepared for taking up leadership positions in the future. At the same conference the next President of AIESEC UAE was selected in the form of Miss Yana Makaveeva from Bulgaria. I am very confident that Yana will lead the organization into greater heights during her term starting in July. 2011 has started out as a good year so far for AIESEC UAE and we are looking forward to even bigger things with the coming few months.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other. John F. Kennedy Activating Leadership is one of 6 values, which guides guid our organization during uring more than 60 years. Day by day we develop agents of positive changes in our unique learning environment. We believe that through creation of diverse and specific learning opportunities for our members, we are helping them to develop their talent and making impact in their personal and professional prof growth. On 10th-12th February 2011 AIESEC in the United Arab Emirates had realized National Leadership Development Seminar. Main objectives from this conference were to give members’ strategic understanding of AIESEC, to prepare our members for fo future leadership roles and to unite AIESEC UAE together. During this 3 days our members learned how manage team in a right way, how to communicate as a leader, how to motivate and coach their members. Also they understand importance of leadership in AIESEC AIE and challenge themselves as future leaders of our organization. Caring about development of each young person who getting to know with AIESEC, as a part of this conference we had Inter--Cultural Cultural Development Seminar for our future Exchange Participants. During this seminar people get to know what AIESEC is and what they can or cannot expect from organization. Each delegate of IDS participated in discussions about “How to be a good ambassador” of the country and learned how to deal with cultural cultu shock and differences. differences In order to bring more value to education and development of our members AIESEC has invited some of its National Partners. The 4th Leadership Forum A PLATFORM FOR YOUTH TO VOICE AND DISCOVER THEIR CONCERNS THE 4th AIESEC LEADERSHIP FORUM “YOULEAD” organised by AIESEC, in partnership with Dubai World Trade Centre, aims to empower Emirati youth with the confidence to make well informed life choices to develop their career goals. It is an open platform for UAE youth to express their opinion on education, career and entrepreneurship opportunities in the country. The two-days forum taking place from March 22nd-23rd at the Careers’ UAE exhibition will bring together over 300 UAE university students, government and industry leaders to identify how the private and public sector can work together to address the concerns of the youth.
