Here’s a familiar face you might recognise, Aaron Carter who started his motortrade career with Westgate back in March 2010 as a trainee Sales Executive in SEAT. With his dedicated work ethic, passion and commitment to customer satisfaction he quickly moved through the ranks to lead the ŠKODA sales team in 2015. During the transition to Team Tartan; Aaron remained a positive cornerstone and has now taken the lead as Head of Business for Honda, SEAT & ŠKODA in Grimsby.
Where do you see the business going in 2019? This year we see the progression of a more ‘in tune with nature’ approach to vehicles that will appeal to the next generation of motorists. We are already welcoming hybrid and electric vehicles into our dealerships with the Honda CR-V hybrid which is a lovely car to drive, this year we will welcome many additions to the ŠKODA Brand; starting with the Scala arriving mid 2019 followed by the much talked about Superb hybrid and the all new baby SUV, the ŠKODA Kamiq. What a year ahead! With SEAT we have the brand new Tarraco, SEAT’s new 7 seat SUV, whilst in the works we have the Leon currently in development as a PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle), the CUPRA brand and not forgetting the 100% electric Honda Urban EV – it’s all very exciting to see this transition from traditional powered vehicles which I can’t wait to present to our customers.
What brings you the greatest satisfaction to your work? The greatest satisfaction I hold is knowing that Grimsby is made up of a great team working together in helping me to drive the business forward. Since the end of 2018 we’ve been able to introduce new team members into all areas of the business through our apprenticeship and trainee programmes, and watching these young people grow into great team players with passion is just amazing.
How do you stay focused and motivated? I keep my mind focused on our customer satisfaction. It shouldn’t matter if you are just popping in for a new pair of wiper blades from our parts team or looking at purchasing the latest SUV; your experience should remain the same. I like to see our team grow through accreditations, training and performing to the best of their ability, as without a happy team we won’t have happy customers.

DARREN’S STORY... We had a very heartwarming handover recently. 18 months ago Darren was involved in a life changing accident, which resulted in the Yorkshire Air Ambulance airlifting Darren to hospital. Darren was left paralysed from the waist down, however after 18 months of hard work and determination and a small matter of passing his driving test, we are very pleased to be able to provide him with a fully adapted Kodiaq.
