THE POWER TO PERFORM We have created a range of engines to give our dynamic new Civic the power and economy to match its looks. You can choose between our all new 1.0 VTEC TURBO petrol engine which develops an impressive amount of refined power, 126PS, and 200Nm of torque or our new 1.6 i-DTEC TURBO diesel engine, which delivers 120PS coupled with low emissions and high economy. Both engines feature our Earth Dreams Technology which offers the perfect balance of performance and economy. They can be specified with either a slick 6-speed manual gearbox or automatic option: a smooth new 7-speed CVT automatic transmission on the petrol or a new 9 speed automatic on the diesel.

When developing the Civic we wanted to build a car that offered the perfect balance between ride comfort and sporty, dynamic handling. So we redesigned the suspension to include an independent Multi-Link system on the rear and a MacPherson strut system on the front.

HONDA SENSING This new suite of safety features will help keep you and your passengers safe whilst driving.

Once the car in front starts moving again simply tap the accelerator to resume the operation.

Lane Departure Warning If the car moves out of its lane without you activating the indicator, then alerts will flash and sound to help bring your attention to correcting the lane drift.

Collision Mitigation Braking System If there is a possibility of a collision with a vehicle or a pedestrian this feature will alert you to the danger as well as reducing your speed to help minimise the severity of any impact.

Lane Keep Assist System Helps keep you in the middle of your lane, providing a less stressful driving experience by reducing the need for steering correction movements and driving effort on the motorway.

Road Departure Mitigation A windscreen mounted camera detects whether the car is veering off the road and uses the Electric Power Steering to apply subtle corrections to keep your vehicle in its lane. In certain conditions, it can also apply braking force.

Intelligent - Adaptive Cruise Control This feature detects if a vehicle driving in an adjacent lane intends to cut in front of you and adjusts the speed of your Civic in advance. It also helps you maintain the distance between you and the car in front, so you donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t have to manually change your speed.

Traffic Sign Recognition The Traffic Sign Recognition System identifies traffic signs and relays this information to you via a visual display. Two signs can be displayed at any one time.

Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Following*

Intelligent Speed Limiter

This function maintains a set cruising speed and following distance relative to the vehicle in front of you. If the detected vehicle comes to a stop, the function will decelerate and stop your vehicle without you having to keep your foot on the brake.

Cleverly combines the existing adjustable speed limiter function with the Traffic Sign Recognition system to automatically set the speed limit to that which the Traffic Sign Recognition system detects.

The Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure distributes frontal impact energy more evenly throughout the vehicle, helping protect passengers.

Whilst driving, the sensors monitor grip to calculate the amount of power or braking force needed for maximum control, giving the driver more predictable and smoother vehicle behaviour.

The Deflation Warning System lets you know if your tyre pressure is incorrect. It can, for instance, give you advanced warning of a slow puncture.

In the event of a collision, these front head restraints and 3-point ELR seatbelts help keep passengers safe and secure and reduce the likelihood of whiplash injuries.

We are committed to keeping you safe, which is why a great deal of clever engineering is at work in the new Civic.

Multiple airbags, Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Vehicle Stability Assist all come as standard. Other intelligent features such as Brake Assist, which boosts braking power in an emergency, keep you safer than ever on the roads.
