“What’s Your Sign?”
“What’s Your Sign?” For this project I brainstormed a list of words that I feel describe myself. I reached out to family and friends to add to the list, adding an element of how others see me as well. The top ten are as follows: 1. Chatterbox
6. Structured
2. Curious
7. Kind
3. Inventive
8. Intelligent
4. Hardworking
9. Driven
5. Impatient
10. Sneakers lover
“What’s Your Sign?” After narrowing it down, I came to settle on my three main words –
IMPATIENT CHATTERBOX SNEAKERS LOVER While these three were the main source of my inspiration, I have also injected other aspects of my personality into the collages and constructed signs.

Collages #1 So, after I choose 3 words that describe my personality, I came up with the idea to put everything together in one collage to see what will it look like.
IMPATIENT – Mad looking man CHATTERBOX – The chattering teeth SNEAKERS LOVER – A collage of mix sneakers

Reflection This project is pretty challenge on how can you identify yourself as a design. I’ve to take time investigated myself on who I really am. I’s weird that sometimes I don’t really know clearly who I am and what’s the thing that can really describe myself. Anyways, as I came along the way. I feel like those 3 words are really representing myself and I feel like I can create something special out of those 3 words but that just my thought. Let’s see what can I come up more in the future.
Collages #2
Collages #2 Now, I start simplifying the collage down and want to make it look more like a single independent sign. I choose the classic silhouette of Nike air Jordan 1 which is my most favorite sneakers.
IMPATIENT – Fire CHATTERBOX – Shoe’s mouth SNEAKERS LOVER – Air Jordan 1 This 2nd collage will focusing on 3 dimensional design more than the first one. Therefore, I’ve to learn how to craft a pair of shoes.
Material List • Foamy board • Card board • Super glue • X-Acto knifes • 100 pound paper • Translucent files cover

Reflection After take the advise from Jerry, I decided to make a pair of shoes which is super challenge in term of craftsmanship and measurement. I took the template from the actual shoes which I draft out from the picture of renowned sneakers customizer “The Shoe Surgeon. The hardest part in this stage must be crafting the shoes from scratch and material that limited. I like the way it turned out a lot but I really feel that I can go further than this.
Collages #3
Collages #3 I think hanging sign is a cool idea to representing our personality but why don’t we make a functional sign that can be one with our body? That’s what droves me to do the sneakers mask which represent my personality.
IMPATIENT – Fire/Angry eyes CHATTERBOX – Shoe’s mouth SNEAKERS LOVER – Air Jordan 1 This 3rd collage will not be just a hanging sign but be a sign and a mask which you can take it out and wear it. I think this idea will satisfied the assignment and my love of sneakers at the same time.

Reflection It’s not easy to satisfy jerry expectation as same as satisfy myself. I want to push it to the limit that satisfy myself. Not only great in design and craftsmanship but also stand out from anybody else in my design class. I came up with the idea of mask because the sign that can represent yourself which can use and apply physically on your body is kind of cool to me. It all starts from scratch and with the paper mock up model, it really gives me the vision. I can say it out loud that I satisfied myself already.

Documenting Our Journey Downtown SF. This is a trip to discovering a new place that we never been before and capture the pictures in differences places, light, and shade. I went to Downtown San Francisco with my friend because in downtown there’s a lot of things going on, I bet it’s going to give me the really interesting shot.

Documenting Our Journey Downtown SF. I explore a lot of details whenever I walked pass something. Once you take a look on something that you never care about it really close, you will found out a lot of beauty in the line and pattern of it. I found out that there’s a lot of beatiful places in downtown SF. Now I’ve to pick up some of the picture from all of those images I took. And I choose all of sharp corners pictures to make my first collage which representing the sense of

Wall Of Wonder From the first stage which we have to go out taking pictures of places then turn it into collage. We have to created a wall that involving the sense of wonder. Make people who walk passing by feel like they want to sit or laying down to thinks and dreams.

Reflection I would say that I still confuse what Jerry want us to do but the only way I will know about that is to make it happen and listen to his comments. It all starts with one sheet of all black hard cardboard that I bought from Blicks. I start to cut the cardboard out piece by piece then resemble it in to one corner. After a couple of rough sketch on paper. I decided t start working on the complexity of light, shade, and shadow.

Wall Of Wonder #2
Reflection The second stage of design. This time I play more with light and shadow which crossing each others. I cut more of the disconnected space on the wall to let the light come through in every direction. I also look at it as the color composition. So I spread the color to balance the mass between black and white. It came out pretty cool and I like it a lot. The hardest part must me the crossing stripes panels that waving on the wall.

Reflection In this 3rd model, I start to think more about adventure senses which I produce an additional stairs way that go straight to the top. The lower level stairs which is leading to the inside will provoking the sense of wonder but about in yourself. The space under the construction is really complex space and the shade and shadow of the construction will appear differently depends on times during the day. On the other hand, the other stairs way will lead you straight to the top level which provoking the sense of wonder but from outside. It will let you look out of the window and thinking about what do you want to do in the future.

Outline
Naration
Reflection This week we have to draw a storyboard, write an outline, and write a narration. I really have no idea what storyboard looks like at first but after talk to Jerry, everything become clearer. The point of this assignment is to prepare the idea to work on next week model. I did some rough model from paper to demonstrate the new stair ways and the new sitting section on the top level. Everything are pretty much done by hands and I really like the outcome.

Reflection This model is the developed version of the 3rd model which I kept all of the elements and developing the sense of adventures. The contraction will include one more stairs way which connected the first and second stairs way together. The concepts pof this model is; Past-Present-Future. The contraction will make you think about the present at the lower level inside of it. One you walk to the top, it will make you think about your future, and when you look down from the top, the complexity of the constuction will make you think about what you have been though, the past. The additional wall up front
Reflection Is a place that will reveal just some part of the construction trough the holes and windows of the wall. I build it with geometric form to make it look unity with the construction. The composition of white and black, the line that lead human eyes, and the walk way that formed up by geometric composition, all of these is the goals of me; to make a design that formed by separated construction but still can be look as one with the rich of communication and meaningful.
The companion
The companion
Reflection The companion part that I designed is the extension on the side to be a courtyard and using the composition of black and white color to make it unity with the main construction. I still using geometric form and eyes shooter line such as the parallel line on the floor.

Reflection In this final model, I fixed the companion part that I designed is the extension on the side to be a courtyard based on Jerry advices which make it parallel and align with other part of the construction. All senses of adventure and wonder still remain. The element of the model still their with the sense of unity in it. Every part of the construction have languages in it like Jazz music that you cant predicted but it’s beautiful. The sharp edges that turned like it’s alive makes this construction not just a complexity space.
