Director’s Welcome Message The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) is an extraordinary international institution of higher learning with more than a half-century history of teaching and learning experience in Asia and two decades in Vietnam. Established as legal entity in 1993 under the agreement signed with the government of Vietnam (Ministry of Education and Training), AIT in Vietnam undertakes the mission to enhance high quality human resources needed to sustain rapid development of Vietnam and the region. We offer degree, diploma, certificate and professional programs working with three schools (Engineering& Technology, Environment, Resources & Development, and Management) of AIT Thailand and other international partner institutions with a strong reputation in higher education. AIT encourages students to be independent and responsible thinkers who know how to express themselves. Our graduating students are professionals and leaders connected to an influential alumni network in Vietnam and the world. Our students come from a wide range of backgrounds and bring a unique view of the world to the learning experience. AIT students are encouraged to bring independent thought to their classrooms and test them ‘in the real world laboratory’. Our students and graduates are taught to be inquisitive, open-minded professionals who question the premises and logic of theories. The First International Educational Institution in Vietnam, since 1993 The Asian Institute of Technology in Vietnam (AIT Vietnam) was established in 1993 under an agreement between the Vietnam government and AIT. We take pride in being the first international educational institution in Vietnam, and the first center of AIT outside of its headquarter in Thailand. AIT has graduated more than 3,000 Masters and PhD holders, and 20,000 professionals in Vietnam who now hold executive positions in both the public and private sectors.

Short-term, Professional Training Programs The shortage of a knowledge-based, skilled workforce is one of the major challenges in Vietnam, and remains an obstacle to economic growth for the country. Many employers have adopted rigorous employee training programs of high quality and standards as one of the key components in their human resources development strategy. In an effort to address the above challenges and needs, the Asian Institute of Technology in Vietnam offers 200 different short training courses annually in four major fields: Business and Management, Education and Management, Environment and Development, and Industrial Engineering and Management. The programs are designed and conducted by AIT trainers, international experts, and AIT alumni. Skills from these short courses are immediately applicable towards improving performance at work. Upon request, AIT Vietnam is equipped to quickly organize client-specific training programs. Training contents, trainer selection, venues and time are tailor-made to meet the clients’ needs. Capacity Building for Development Projects Working towards the sustainable development of Vietnam and its integration into the global economy is one of the core objectives of AIT. AIT Alumni Worldwide AIT has more than 19,000 alumni from over 80 countries covering all continents. From this group of graduates, more than 90% remain in the Asian region after graduation and most hold positions of influence in the government, education and private industries. The network of AIT professionals has established contacts with key organizations throughout the region.
