The Oxbridge Model Analysis
From the standpoint of the collegial culture perspective, the purpose of higher education is the "generation, interpretation, and dissemination of knowledge" (Schuh, Jones, Harper, &Associates, 2011, p.274). Some argue that there is nothing more important than high quality research, scholarship and teaching; however, with the health of theories and concepts that are currently practiced, student affairs professionals and academic leaders must rely on a range of approaches to achieve educational goals. It is known that these higher education institutions lean to psychology for counseling theories, sociology for group behavior, and anthropology for knowledge of different cultures (Schu et al., 2011). Two models whom cultures heavily influenced the development of higher education in the...show more content... p.274). This model changes the structure of college campuses by equipping students with residence halls, advisement, and learning centers. This new thirteenth–century model provided a safe haven for students during the time of rioting between town and gown (Schuh et al., 2011). The main focus before this model was only the "life of the mind," which was defined as educating only the mind of the student to learn their lesson; instead of teaching students about social and moral development. Compared to today's system in higher education, this historical model has stood the test of time. Higher education institutions are perfecting their residence halls or mentoring classrooms to empower the whole student. Colleges and universities are developing numerous extra–curricular activities for students that help foster their character and emotional development. According to Nicotra and Patel (2016) "higher education intuitions around the world have focused on embedding graduate outcomes that characterized the idea of educating and developing a good citizen and not just another student"

English 101–60 has taught me many things and has helped me grow and develop my skills as a writer. It has taught me how to think more creatively and use clear concrete details. In the beginning of the semester, our first writing assignment was a narrative journal entry that focused on writing about an uninteresting moment from your life and making it interesting. This was a challenging assignment because it was a broad topic that allowed the writers to take it in any direction. I remember thinking I had no idea what I am going to write about. Once I was able to narrow down the ideas I started writing what a traumatic experience I had six years ago. This was when I underwent the surgical procedure, to remove my gallbladder. My main focus...show more content...
Once I found that topic, I was able to start writing the research paper, My group faced a couple of challenges along the way. One of the biggest challenges we faced was all of us meeting the length requirement because were all still in the beginning stages of the assignment. The workshop group was a new experience for me because I have never worked with that many person, this kind of overwhelmed me because there was so many opinion on one paper. The groups weakness was, our lack of organization. Fortunately, we were able to make this up with all of us being very truthful towards each other and not sugarcoating the revisions we suggested among our papers. We all accomplished the beginning stages of writing our research papers and making sure everyone had their thesis there. Over the semester I have been challenged and intrigued over and over by the content of this course and the professor, who thought I could develop a fairly strong paper if it was not for all my grammatical errors. It has been a very enlightening and enthralling experience that has taught me a new way to write a paper. In high school there was only one way to write and that was it. I think that this class is a great way for students to think out of the box, rather than having to be stuck. It allows them to write more freely about a subject, and I am very thankful for that. I have learned many new skills and improved the skills I already

Review of English Semester Essay
Without having someone else to look over your work, it is hard to realize what you are doing wrong. When someone else reads your paper, especially having not read it before, they can easily identify your mistakes, whether it be punctuation or spelling errors. I strongly believe that when peer review is taken advantage of and used correctly, peer reviews are extremely helpful, but, unfortunately not everyone takes it serious and gives you the feedback that can really help you fix your essay. I had been rereading my WritingProject 1 essay over Philando Castile for other a week to make sure it was to perfection. It wasn't until my paper went through peer review that I realized my mistakes. For example, one of my first sentences in my essay made absolutely no sense because it was missing one word, but when I had been reading it myself, I had never even noticed that it was missing the word. The sentence had said, "Castile, with his girlfriend, Diamond Reynolds, and her four–year–old daughter in the car, was over for a broken brake light" (Straley 1). I had been reading the sentence as if the word,...show more content... Once again, I had made mistakes I hadn't even noticed before. When my paper went through peer review, and I received feedback, I was told something I had thought I had already done. I was told, "Commas need added in a few spots like after 'In fact, and Still," (Anonymous). Surely when I went back to the essay there were not commas in some important spots, for example, "In fact about a third of students who take out student loans never even graduate and receive their diploma" (Straley 3). Having a peer read your essay, can really help you find your grammatical errors. When we read our own paper, we often read it as if the punctuation is there, even if it is not. When someone else reads it though, they can easily identify these mistakes, especially when it is their first time reading your

The thing that would make this essay more informative is explaining the in–text citations a little more. Sometimes you jump right into a source without introducing it first, that can get a little confusing as a reader. There were also a couple times that you ended the in–text citation, without explaining it. So, introducing and ending in text citations would make the essay more informative. There were times that I was confused because it went from talking about one source at the end of a paragraph to another source at the beginning of the next paragraph.
2.What would make this essay seem more academically credible? a.Something that would make this essay more academically credible would be using more than four sources. You have six sources listed on the works cited page, but in the essay, I only noticed that four of them were used. I would recommend if you do not use a source in the paper, taking it off the works cited page. I did not see the first source "Arlotta" referenced in the paper. It seems like you really only used the Center for Disease and Control, "Geebhart" and "Sansone."

I have chosen to review the" World of Warcraft" also known as WOW. This game is more than a simple role playing game with dice. It is so much more than a Nintendo or a Sega game. The game consists of choosing a faction, Race, Class, and what to make your character look like. There are Quests, Dungeons, Raids, Professions, Guilds, Battle grounds, and arenas. It is so involved it takes months if not years to reach a point where I have done all I can do. However it keeps expanding through expansion packs, provided by the creators. Here is what I have to say about it. WOW is a MMORPG which stands for Massive Multi–player On–Line Role Playing Game. The creation of this game has brought some old school fun and ideas into play with a...show more content...
Player (PVP) server which means those of the opposite faction can fight you and kill you. The options that are available make for a better game, depending on what you want. Where as other games do not have such variety. Once you have your faction, race, and class you are ready to venture forth. You start in starting areas that are low level and are sort of closed off from high level players, but not totally closed off. You have a few spells or abilities, depending on your class. As you gain levels you gain more abilities. You run around in areas and town where you come across quest givers who have a big yellow question mark floating above their heads. You have to do what the quest says and return to them when it is completed. Your rewards can be food, armor and other items deemed as trash. Most games that are like wow give characters levels as game play continues. So there are some similarities. During early levels you can learn professions to help you become more capable and prosperous in the game. You have Mining, Enchanting, Tailoring, Alchemy and so much more. There are some that are considered secondary and you can learn them all. They are Fishing, Cooking, Riding, and First Aid. Gaining a mount to ride on is a big deal due to the size of the world. Some games have versions of these but nowhere near the amount of differences. At level 15 or I think 13 you have an option available to enter a dungeon. These Dungeons

Shakespeare has produced an incredibly large library of work, including 38 plays and countless sonnets. His plays are divided into four main sections: the Histories, the Tragedies, the Comedies, and the Romances. Othello falls under Tragedy, as it ends with the death of numerous characters, including the principals. Shakespeare's work has been produced since the Renaissance in all artistic mediums from the original theater to opera, symphony, film, and ballet. It has also been consistently revisited countless times by the same artistic medium because it is said to be timeless.

Nabeeha Hasan Sugar Land Texas, USA Personal Statement I want to participate in the Oxbridge Summer Seminar because it's a new experience. I am a person that's all about new experiences. From sampling squid–ink dyed paella in Madrid to trying my hand at falconry in the deserts of the UAE to riding elephants in the jungles of Chiang Mai, I am always ready for the unconventional. Being a regular traveler and having lived in countries on opposite sides of the globe, I not only have experiences in these countries but interacting with the communities of these places has given me a perspective of different societies on various issues. My primary minor is medicine as I plan to go to medical school after college. The pull–factor of medicine is, of course saving people's lives, but also discovering and defeating the microscopic elements that can consume us alive. The mere ability of these invisible particles to completely destroy us is truly humbling. That is why the study and practice of medicine is a dignifying and self–driven cause. Psychology is another minor I have chosen to apply for. I believe that the brain is the most powerful organ of the body, which I had begun to appreciate after participating in a neuro–based summer camp in Texas. In this program, I not only learned the anatomy and physiology of the brain, but also the effects the brain has other parts of the body. Without the brain, we wouldn't be able to perform an act as simple as swallowing. But the most interesting aspect of the brain is its cognitive abilities. The endless variability of the brain's cognition makes the study of neurology a bottomless water glass for my unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Finally, as England is home to such fine literature as that of Shakespeare, and Oxford itself has contributed much to the English language and its

I think that this will solve your predicament I suggest reading the book because the book gives you a better explanation of the setting and situations that the characters experience. The movie kinda skips some of the situations that the book provides. Reflective Essay On Peer Review
The in–class workshops, discussions, and activities component of this course definitely enhanced my experience and learning. I think the biggest benefit I derived from this component was the activity of peer review. I found this component helped me to reach the goal of engaging in formal and informal writing that analyzes and critically reflects on my major's writing conventions and on my own writing practices and choices. In my academic experience, I often receive peer reviews that just say something to the effect of "good job." While it's nice to receive positive feedback it never helped me as a writer. I have always tried to offer solid advice on my peer reviews. I find it difficult to be critical of people's work, but I realize it is part

After meeting with my peers about my essay feedback some suggestions that were given to me was to write my essay in past tense and to move my central idea towards the end of the first paragraph. When I first walked into the conference and my peers read my essay I felt like my essay was horrible and all over the place. After receiving feedback from my peers, my essay wasn't as bad I thought it was. The feedback my peers gave me was actually pretty less and easy for me to fix and work on. The feedback that my peers gave was citing my sources inside my essay and just finishing up my conflict paragraph. My peers liked my paper overall and said that is was organized and well explained. I think some of the things I will do to wrap up my essay is

Performance Evaluation Essay
There is a purpose in doing performance evaluations, in which it helps management make general human resource decisions. Performance evaluations provide input to help make important decisions such as promotions, transfers and even terminations. Also, could help to identify training and developments they need, as well help develop programs and providing feedback to employees on how they performed on their review. Performance evaluation can help to see who will get merit pay increases and other rewards. In the scenario, I have three concerns about the evaluation that our manager is using. When using individual task outcome; you could be evaluated on such things as the quantity produced, the scrap generated in production, and the cost per unit. Evaluating behavior, you would look at how the employee is helping other coworkers, making suggestions for improve the work environment, and volunteering for additional duties. The behavior is the focus on interaction towards others and the organization. Evaluating traits are a little more trickery than the other two because it is farthest removed from the actual performance of the job. When looking at traits, you look to see if the person has a respectful attitude, do they show confidence in their job, are they dependable, and are they always busy, or do they possess a wealth of experience. These traits are routinely used as criteria for assessing an employee's level of performance. When using a method like the 360–degree to give a performance evaluation has a great advantage for everyone. It helps give the employees in an organization a sense of participating in the process of the person evaluation. By including coworkers, customers, and subordinates; it allows a more accurate reading on the employee's evaluation. Each of these people can give various views about the employee because each one is from different parts of the organization, or even an outside source review on the person can be very valuable. 'Despite gender equality on the rise, are men and women equal in the workplace?'
Introduction
"The human race is a bird and it needs both its wings to be able to fly. And, at the moment, one of its wings is clipped we're never going to be able to fly as high."
Although the number of sex discrimination claims have dropped by 41% from 18,300 in 2010/11 to 10,800 in 2011/12, it continues to be the most frequent type of discrimination claim received by tribunals. Gender equality is a known problem within the UK as organisations and the UK as a whole do not view men and women with equal value and therefore have unequal treatment. Whilst employers should enforce policies that are designed to prevent sex discrimination in recruitment and...show more content...

This lead to the security of the first successful equal pay resolution at Trades Union Congress. Before the Suffragettes, women were not able to vote and the move for women to have the right to vote really started in 1897 when Millicent Fawcett founded the National Union of Women's Suffrage. Fawcett strongly believed that women should have the right to vote but also believed in peaceful protests, patience and logical arguments. She felt that if any violence occurred then men would believe that women could not be trusted and therefore should not have the right to vote. She also made the argument that if women were made responsible for sitting on school boards and paying taxes that they should be part of the process to make the laws and should have the same rights as men. A main argument of hers was that even though some women who were wealthy mistresses of large manors and estates employed gardeners, workmen and labourers who were able to vote but women still could not, regardless of their wealth and social class. However, the progress of Fawcett was very slow and although she converted some of the members of the Labour Representation Committee (The Labour Party) but the majority of men felt that women would not understand how parliament functioned and therefore should not take part in the electoral
