Dear Hereford Enthusiasts, We are pleased to welcome you to the Richardson Ranch 9th Annual Online Sale. As in the previous 8 sales we are offering top quality, high performance cattle that excel in that perfect combination of outstanding phenotype and genotype. This year we are excited to share from the heart of our ET program at Tlell. In the past 5 years we have collected over 300 embryos. Every Tlell bred lot in this sale is either an ET calf, sired by a Tlell ET bull or a natural calf out of a Tlell donor dam. Two of the lots are on our 2018 show team and another was Grand Champion Female at the only MOE show we attended in 2017. I realized one thing on my trip to Haida Gwaii this August (other than the Richardsons are still great hosts and Leslie is still a great cook)! It’s that dry conditions in Western Canada have the same effect on your blood pressure whether you live on the prairies or on an island. Neither has had sufficient moisture for pasture or hay this growing season. Experiencing drought conditions can soon show you which animals can cope and which breeds can withstand the pressure of Mother Nature. It is evident by the quality and condition of the bred heifers and the cows being offered in this sale that the Richardson herd has adapted to the challenges, and they look good! I want you to do a little research on a particular animal in the offering: Lot 4, Tlell 10Y Daydream ET 103E. As I was going through the herd for the first time, I could see an exceptional animal in the pasture and getting closer I saw it was Lot 4. I scored her high and moved on. I kept thinking about Daydream and returned back to her. Picture this, her sire is a National Champion, her Dam is a National Champion, and she is now 18 months old and pregnant. All the hard work has been done for you! What I haven’t told you is how good she is. I think she’s damn good. She is pretty, has a huge middle, lots of thickness, very correct in her structure, and then you should analyze the power in her EPD profile. I think she presents a unique opportunity. The heifer calves are eye catchers. You will soon see why the Churchill Kickstart 501C ET progeny are so popular. The Lot 9, Tlell 501C Felecia ET 3F heifer is very long bodied, correct and fancy. She is also a daughter of Tlell 8R Tickle 22T, dam of the 2018 CJHA Grand Champion Bull, and that makes her a no miss. Her Kickstart brother, Tlell 501C Factor 26F, Lot 2, is also a real looker. Delivery: We deliver! Purchase price includes delivery of all livestock along Yellowhead Hwy from Prince Rupert, BC to Lloydminster, AB at no extra charge. There are also several commercial options available to ship cattle from the BC Livestock Co-op auction market in Vanderhoof to all parts of Canada. We will make every effort to assist you in arranging delivery . We will work with all buyers to make sure your wishes re delivery are respected and fully meet your expectations within the limits as noted here on this page..

Arrangements can be made for Bull calves purchased in this sale to be fed at Tlell for $750 and delivered to Vanderhoof after semen testing in April 2019. You must insure your bull calf and the feed bill must be paid prior to delivery next spring. We will give a cash discount of $100 a head for cattle picked up at our Ranch in Tlell.

FOB Vanderhoof means we will trailer, at our cost, all the cattle sold, to Vanderhoof where there are several commercial options available for you to move your new purchase to all parts of Canada. We will have all animals brand inspected and provide shipping manifests issued at our expense prior to delivery of your purchases to trucking companies in Vanderhoof and we will make every effort to assist you in arranging delivery from Vanderhoof to your Ranch.

Females in the sale: All females in the sale are being sold with the term “Selling 100% Possession, Retaining one flush”. This means that should you buy one of these females she will be yours to possess and breed at your ranch without any restrictions. However, should you use the female in question in a donor program and you have her permitted as a donor dam by the CHA then we will retain the right to one flush of this cow to the bull of our choice, at our costs, at a time which is mutually agreeable to both parties.

Bulls in the sale: All bulls are being sold “100% possession, retaining 50% Semen Interest”. This means should you buy this bull he will be yours to possess and use at your ranch without any restrictions. However, should you elect to collect semen from this bull for resale outside your own herd, we would be equal partners in both the costs involved and the profits generated from this sale of semen.

Genetic Defects: All the cattle in this sale have been DNA tested for Idiopathic Epilepsy, Diluter and Hypotrichosis and found to be negative or are negative by pedigree.
