The bamboo is a Member of the Four Gentleman. The upright bamboo plants are met with a fresh wind, as the moon shines on this subtle scene with beauty.

The chrysanthemum is a Member of the Four Gentleman. With the slight dazzling rain, the season of the chrysanthemum is upon us. The chrysanthemum vibrantly glows with the pristine energy of the coming fall.

This character symbolizes the act of moving forward – to proceed; to persevere; to continue; to change. A universal trait that we humans all possess is imperfection, regardless of how successful or competent we are. It is important to never get arrogant or too satisfied with the status quo, for it is the act of moving forward that helps us overcome these fallibilities. We must be humble in judging our weaknesses, and we must strive to move forward.
