Mister Philippe de Moerloose 1. Biography: Philippe de Moerloose was born on 30 June 1967 in Watermael-Boisfort in Belgium. After growing up in the Congolese province of Katanga, he founded DEMIMPEX after leaving Ichec in 1991. At first his focus was on exporting spare parts to Africa, but this quickly expanded to include the sale of industrial vehicles and equipment. Today the SDA-SDAI Consortium he founded has a restated turnover of around 500 million Euro and employs more than 2,000 people. Philippe de Moerloose is also active in the industrial, hotel and air-freight sectors through the Belgian company Demavia. Mister Philippe de Moerloose is the CEO and founder of the SDA-SDAI Consortium. 2. Introduction.: 1991 Creation of Demimpex (abbreviation of: "de Moerloose-Import-Export"), specialising in the sales and the exporting of spare parts in Africa. 1995 Demimpex buys "Vehicles Repair & Parts" (VRP), Belgian reference in the sales of 4x4 vehicles and spare parts abroad. 1996 Creation of the first subsidiary on the African continent: Demimpex Afrique. 1999 Acquisition of Transco, a Belgian competitor of Demimpex-VRP located in Anvers. 2000 Creation of a bonded logistics centre (Pre Delivery Organisation) in Anvers
with a
capacity of 2,500 vehicles. 2001 Acquisition of "Auto Transport Company" (ATC) from the Belgian group Chanic . This acquisition allowed the Group to officially distribute the Nissan brand in the DRC. 2004 Joint venture ATC Comafrique with the SIFCOM group to allow the distribution of the Nissan, Volkswagen, Audi and Budget Rent A Car brands in the Ivory Coast. Creation of a shared Belgian-Algerian company, Demdistral, for the distribution of the Hitachi and John Deere brands in Algeria. 2005 Creation of Demimpex Middle East in the free zone of Dubai.
