Mister Philippe de Moerloose 1. Biography: Philippe de Moerloose was born on 30 June 1967 in Watermael-Boisfort in Belgium. After growing up in the Congolese province of Katanga, he founded DEMIMPEX after leaving Ichec in 1991. At first his focus was on exporting spare parts to Africa, but this quickly expanded to include the sale of industrial vehicles and equipment. Today the SDA-SDAI Consortium he founded has a restated turnover of around 500 million Euro and employs more than 2,000 people. Philippe de Moerloose is also active in the industrial, hotel and air-freight sectors through the Belgian company Demavia. Mister Philippe de Moerloose is the CEO and founder of the SDA-SDAI Consortium. 2. Introduction.: 1991 Creation of Demimpex (abbreviation of: "de Moerloose-Import-Export"), specialising in the sales and the exporting of spare parts in Africa. 1995 Demimpex buys "Vehicles Repair & Parts" (VRP), Belgian reference in the sales of 4x4 vehicles and spare parts abroad. 1996 Creation of the first subsidiary on the African continent: Demimpex Afrique. 1999 Acquisition of Transco, a Belgian competitor of Demimpex-VRP located in Anvers. 2000 Creation of a bonded logistics centre (Pre Delivery Organisation) in Anvers

with a

capacity of 2,500 vehicles. 2001 Acquisition of "Auto Transport Company" (ATC) from the Belgian group Chanic . This acquisition allowed the Group to officially distribute the Nissan brand in the DRC. 2004 Joint venture ATC Comafrique with the SIFCOM group to allow the distribution of the Nissan, Volkswagen, Audi and Budget Rent A Car brands in the Ivory Coast. Creation of a shared Belgian-Algerian company, Demdistral, for the distribution of the Hitachi and John Deere brands in Algeria. 2005 Creation of Demimpex Middle East in the free zone of Dubai.


2008 Creation of the Belgian law Holding "SociĂŠtĂŠ de Distribution Africaine" (SDA), which now incorporates all the previous participations. 2010 Inauguration of SDA Asia, anchor point for the Group in China 2011 Development of the SMT network (Swedish Machinery & Trucks), official distributor for Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo Trucks and Volvo Penta, in Cameroon, Congo Brazzaville, Ivory Coast, Nigeria and DRC. Separation of Demimpex into 2 companies: Demimpex Motors and Demimpex Equipment. Creation of DEM Equipment in DRC. Creation of SDIAG for the distribution of John Deere Agriculture equipment. Addition of automobile activities to the Joint Venture TRACTAFRIC MOTORS CORPORATION. This company is the second-largest entity in Sub-Saharan Africa in the automobile sector and is 60% owned by the Optorg Group and 40% by the SDA Group. Purchase and integration of the Multitech group (official distribution of Volvo in Ghana, Burkina Faso, Benin and Liberia) into the SMT network. 2012

Founding of the Management Committees at SDA, Demimpex Equipment and SMT

Europe. Creation of the Luxembourgian holding company SDAI, including the SDIAG and CBA Trading (previously SDA Asia) participations. 2013 Creation of the sub-holding SMT Group by addition of the SMT subsidiaries in Africa. Creation of the sub-holding DEM Group by addition of the DEM Equipment subsidiaries in Africa. Reinforcement of the DEM Group network by the creation of the DEM Ghana, DEM Mauritania, DEM Morocco, DEM Nigeria and DEM Senegal subsidiaries. 3. Hobbies: As an avid marathon and endurance runner, Philippe de Moerloose has completed several marathons, including the Paris, Brussels, Barcelona and New-York marathons. He also plays tennis, a sport in which he has excelled in the past few years.
