The Vicious Crime Takes Over the Globe: How Safe Are You? A topic much in talks of late and a social evil that has enveloped the Globe, rape, is one issue that needs a lot of focus especially in terms of how it can be combated. Although a lot is talked about pertaining to this topic, nevertheless this issue has reached such an explosive state, that it has ended up ruining innumerable lives and unfortunately goes on doing so in an alarming rate. As of now, no single woman is immune & definitely age isn’t a bar, be it senior citizens or infants to even corpses, and rape has taken the shape of a diabolic power symbol across the globe. Shockingly, over 2 million women are raped globally. And if that wasn’t enough, just in USA, record says that a woman is raped almost every two minutes. Without any doubt, rape is the most atrocious crime that can happen against an individual.
Sure the evident damage is
physical, but the emotional dent that it causes is irreparable and cannot be healed even after years of effort. And at times, somehow the victim doesn’t come out of it. The biggest tragedy is that almost 80% of the women become victim to their own friends, relatives, brothers and even fathers and 6 out of 10 of the rape and gang rape incidents happen within their homes itself which most of the time isn’t even reported. Of late there is a rising concern of minor rapes and gang rapes through allurement or force, which has taken a frightening stature. And most of the time the rapist even isn’t a shady criminal, and can be anyone from an educated man to just a teenager, thus making sexual assaults even scarier. Although efforts are being taken by individuals all over to raise their voice against rape and other forms of sexual assaults, nevertheless it is still looked down upon as a social stigma, with a decreasing number of women keeping their mouths shut even after being victimized time and again. Celebrities, in an effort to spread awareness about rape and stretching out their helping hand towards rape victims have time and again taken steps to support the cause. For instance NazB Shame is one music video by Hip Hop singer NazB and RnB which talks about how rape victims should stay strong and how justice will definitely come to them.
