December 2020 News for Southwest Kansas Equine Therapeutic Happy Holidays and Joyous New Year!!!! Just like most of you, the SWKSETP has had an eventful year. We are looking forward to a much better 2021. A lot of things were different for all of us in 2020. We are looking forward to seeing our clients, friends and extended family in 2021. The equine teachers: Gucci, Hammer and two new teachers; Jack and Poncho are preparing for 2021. They are all happy and healthy. They are enjoying some time off; standing at the hay bale. Summer and Sonie have some news to share, they will : be delivering foals in April 2021, needless to say they will not be available for lessons until fall of 2021. We encourage you to come see the babies in May of 2020 . SOUTHWEST KANSAS EQUINE THERAPEUTIC PROGRAM INC. OFFERS THE FOLLOWING SERVICES: Equine Assisted Therapy: Activities subject to the discretion of the Therapist. Equine Assisted Activities: Learning through activities utilizing horses. Therapeutic Riding: Activities may include both on and off a horse. Leadership/Team Building Workshops: Activities will include leadership, team building and productivity activities. This is a great way to build communication with your team. Transition Group or Individual Equine Assisted Therapy: Activities will include skills on how to transition from a two parent home to a single parent home. Southwest Kansas Equine Therapeutic Program, a community-based service, dedicated to providing physical, socialemotional learning and recreational opportunities through therapeutic equine lessons. Our organization serves individuals with a wide variety of challenges. Southwest Kansas Equine Therapeutic Program has available: a PATH Int. certified Equine Specialist, Professional licensed counselors, Occupational Therapist, and Speech Therapist. Of course, there are several loving horses looking forward to doing their job of helping and healing individuals. Services are offered in both our indoor and outdoor facility at 11160 Primrose Road, in Dodge City, Ks. WHAT S NEW Beyond Imaginable Trails (BIT) Project which has served over 200 students during its existence. USD #613 Project Student program : served over 300 students in its existence. These students participated in 50 Equine Assisted Activities lessons as part of their psycho-social programming. WE are looking forward to continuing this program in 2021.
