AROUND THE HOUSE

Thieves Spray • 2 oz. dark glass spray bottle • 1 tsp. organic witch hazel (or Vodka) • 10-­‐15 drops of Young Living Thieves oil • Almost 2 oz. of distilled water In your clean spray bottle, add 10-­‐15 drops of your Thieves oil. Next add 1 tsp. of witch hazel (or vodka). Then pour distilled water into bottle until full. Put on your spray top and use as you see fit. That’s it!

Citrus Air Freshener: makes one 4oz bottle • 1.5 oz vodka / or Witch Hazel • 15 drops citrus fresh • 1-­‐2oz. distilled water to fill Put vodka and essential oils in GLASS spray bottle Fill with distilled water leaving room for the sprayer. Close container and shake 10-­‐15 seconds.

According to Higley's Reference Guide for Essential Oils, many of the oils in this blend are strong antiseptics and would work well for killing airborne bacteria.

Citrus fresh includes orange, tangerine, mandarin, grapefruit, lemon and spearmint essential oils. You could swap the oil out for another favorite scent but the citrus ones are my favorite.

Dishwasher Pods • 2 cups washing soda 2 cups Borax 3/4 cup white vinegar 1/2 cup sea salt 6 drops Orange EO Mix together and pack very firmly into ice cube tray. Only fill 3/4 full or will not fit into dishwasher compartment! Let them sit and dry for 24 hours. Pop out of tray and store in jar. Use when ready

Dishwasher Powder: • 2 cups Baking Soda 2 cups Borax 2 cups Washing Soda 6 drops Purification 6 Drops Orange EO Use 1/8 cup per load. Use vinegar in the rinse compartment as a rinse agent to help prevent residue.

Garbage disposal cleaner • Freeze in ice cube trays Thieves cleaner (30oz water to 1oz cleaner)

Put 3-­‐4 ice cube down the disposal and turn it on

Fabric Freshener/Linen Spray • In a 4 oz spray bottle add the following • 1.5 oz water • 1.5 oz vodka • 15-­‐20 drops of YLEOs (lavender or purification are good)

Candles • Grate about 4oz of beeswax • Put the grated wax in a double boiler and melt it • Once the wax is melted, remove it from the heat and dip the bottom of 1 candle wick in the wax. Press the bottom of the wick against the bottom of the glass container that you're planning to use for your candle. It will stay put once the wax dries • Add 40 drops of YLEOs that you want to use • Pour the wax into the glass jar, and let it completely cool • NOTE: The heating of the oils will most likely destroy their health benefits.

Diffusing is a better option for the full health benefits of the YLEO

Hand Soap • 3/4 C castile soap • 2 Tbsp avocado oil • 2 C water • 20 drops YLEO (lemon and purification)

Foaming Hand Soap • ¼ c. liquid castile soap • 1Tbsp. avocado oil • 7 drops Mel A and 7 drops Lavender OR 12-­‐14 drops Thieves OR 12-­‐14 drops Peppermint • distilled water to fill • Pour castile soap, avocado oil and essential oils in 8oz hand soap foaming container. Fill with distilled water leaving room for pump, shake gently.

Dish Soap • 1/3 cup sal suds • 1/3 cup white vinegar • 1/3 cup warm distilled water • 1/3t. citric acid • 2/3 teaspoon kosher salt • 6 drops mel a 2 drops lavender OR 8 drops thieves OR 8 drops peppermint • in a medium sized boal combine warm water and salt until salt is dissolved.

In a separate bowl, combine sal suds, vinegar and citric acid. Stir sal suds mix

Fruit and Veggie Cleaner • One drop of lemon to a bowl of water • soaking fruits and veggies in the bowl for a few minutes before rinsing them

Poo-­‐pourri – 2oz • ½ teaspoon vegetable glycerine • 15 drops lemon • 5 drops bergamot • 10 drops orange • distilled water • Put vegetable glycerine and oils in bottle and fill with distilled water, shake for 10-­‐15 seconds. Shake before use, spray toiled bowl before using to trap smell.

Shower Disc • Mix in a bowl until a thicke paste • 1 cup baking soda • 1 Tablespoon cornstarch • 1/2 cup water • Preheat oven to 350 • Spoon mixture in lined muffin tins and bake for 12 mins • After the cool add 6 drops of your favorite YLEO • Lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus, stress away

Hand Sanitizer • In a 10oz bottle add the following • 2 oz Distilled water • 5 oz witch hazel • 3 oz aloe vera gel • 15 drops Thieves

Thieves & Lemon Hand Sanitizer • 1 Tbsp aloe vera gel • 2 Tbsp witch hazel • 3 drops lemon • 5 drops thieves • remainder distilled water • put ingredients in order listed in glass spray bottle, close cap lightly and shake. Spray hands or surfaces as needed

Powder Laundry detergent • In a 5 gal bucket add the following: • 1, 4.12lbs box of borax • 3 bars of soap grated (Fels-­‐Naptha or other) • 1, 4lbs box of baking soda • 1 box of washing soda • 4 lbs of oxy clean (one sm. & one large container) *optional • Laundry softener crystals *optional

Smaller Powder Laundry Detergent Recipe: • 1 castile soap bar grated • 3 cups super washing soda • 3 cups mule team borax • 3 caps Thieves Household cleaner • 20 drops Purification • Mix all together and use 1/4c per load – safe for HE

Liquid Laundry detergent • 1 bar Fels Naptha • 1 cup 20 Mule Team Borax • 1 cup Arm & Hammer Washing Soda • 4 cups of hot water • EO of your choice • 2 one quart mason jars • Step 1: Put 4 cups of water in a large heavy saucepan over high heat. While that is heating, mix the borax and washing soda together in a bowl, mixing well, set aside • Step 2: Grate the Fels Naptha-­‐ the easiest way to do this is to cut it into several smaller chunks and then run it through a food processor-­‐ otherwise, you can just grate it with a hand grater or shave it with a knife.

• Step 3: Add the freshly grated soap to the water in the saucepan, stirring almost constantly. Reduce the heat to medium, It will take approximately 10 – 15 minutes for the Fels Naptha to complete dissolve.

• Step 4: Once the fels naptha has completely melted, remove the pan from the heat and add in the Borax and the Washing Soda, stirring constantly until the powders are completely dissolved, this will take about 3-­‐5 minutes

Step 5: Pour the liquid equally into (2) 1 quart Mason jars and then add just enough water to bring it up to the rounded part of the jar.

Step 6: Put the lid on the jars and turn them UPSIDE DOWN and let them sit a few hours (about 4 -­‐ 5 hours).

Step 7: unscrew the blade and bottom from your blender and screw them onto your regular mouthed mason jar containing all of your ingredients.

Place the entire mason jar on the blender and whip until smooth and creamy throughout, about a minute. Flip back over, unscrew the blender blade, attach a cover and seal. (I have used an immersion blender as well.) **this is the step I add the Essential oils in. I've done 2-­‐4 drops in each jar and it's done well for us. ** To use, add 1 Tablespoon to a load of laundry in any type of machine. You just add it right in with the dirty clothes.

Lip Balm: • 4 Tbsp coconut oil • 2 Tbsp beeswax • 12 drops of essential oils, can mix different kinds, • Makes 15 tubes

Deluxe Lip Balm • 2 Tbsp beeswax • 3 Tbsp coconut oil • 1 teasp. Jojoba • 1 teasp. Vitamin e • 15 drops lavender and 10 drops frank OR 15 drops peppermint 10 drops lavender • melt beeswax and coconut oil in double boiler, add jojoba and vitamin e mixing well. Add oils, mix well. Fill tubes using plastic syringe.

Body Butter: • 1 cup shea butter • 1/2 cup coconut oil • 1/2 cup almond oil • 10 drops each of your favorite EO. • I use Frankincense, lavender, lemongrass, lemon, and grapefruit in mine • Melt Shea Butter and add it to the room temp. Coconut oil together and Mix them for 5 min or so. Then add almond oil. Mix for a min. You don’t want this to be completely liquid but more a soft cream. Add your EOs and mix again for 4-­‐5min.

Whipped Body Butter: • ¾ c shea butter • 3 Tbsp. coconut oil • 3 Tbsp Almond Oil • 40 drops of favorite EO – Gentle Baby, Peppemint, Lavender are all nice • Melt shea butter and coconut oil in double boiler, pour into larger bowl and add almond oil. Whip in hand or stand mixer for 5 minutes. Cool in fridge for 1-­‐3 hours till hardened. Whip 5 minutes. Add oils, whip 5 more minues.

Makes 16-­‐20oz.

Home-­‐made Vaseline • 1/8 cup (about 1 ounce) beeswax (I used organic beeswax pastilles) • 1/2 cup olive oil (I used organic olive oil) • 10 drops Lavender Essential oil Pour your ingredients into the same jar you are going to be using to store it. Place the jar into a saucepan and add enough water to go about halfway up the jar. Heat on medium until the beeswax melts. Stir, and carefully remove jar from pan – I am sure it goes without saying but just in case, it is HOT. Let cool completely, store covered.

Healing Hand Lotion: • 1 Cup Coconut Oil • 10 drops Frankincense • 4 drops Lavender or Lemon • Whip with mixer for 5 minutes.

Homemade All-­‐natural Pumpable Lotion • 1 c. water • 1/4 c. old fashioned oats • 1/2 c. almond oil (olive or jojoba work too) • 1/2 c. coconut oil • 3 tbsp. beeswax, grated or whatever • 1 tbsp. vitamin E oil (good for the skin and is also a natural antioxidant, helping it to last longer) • 1 tbsp. raw honey • 15-­‐20 drops Lavender (or your preference -­‐ Young Living essential oils Instructions 1. Put the water and oats in a bowl. Cover and allow to soak for 12 hours (overnight and then some works well) at room temperature.

2. Drain the oats, reserving the oatmeal water. Press the oats gently with a spatula to get all the oatmeal liquid. Discard (eat or compost or whatever) the oats.

3. Measure 1/2 cups worth of oatmeal water. Set aside.

4. In a glass bowl, place the almond oil, coconut oil, beeswax, and honey.

Microwave until melted or heat over a pan with shallow simmering water (making a double boiler). Heat until completely melted.

5. Put the oil mixture in the freezer for about 15 minutes or the refrigerator for 45 minutes.

6. Mix together the oil mixture and the oatmeal water plus any essential oils with a handheld or stand electric mixture. Whip until thickened and lotion-­‐looking.

7. Pour the lotion into a pastry bag (as used for cake decorating) or a plastic zip bag (snip off a corner after filling). Squeeze into a empty lotion bottle.

8. To use, pump out a small amount and rub into skin.

Notes If you'd like to add shea butter, you should be able to without any problem. I'd replace half of the coconut oil for shea butter and melt it along with the oils.

Face cream: • 1/2 cup coconut oil • 7-­‐8 drops each of orange or lemon, lavender, and frankincense

Alternate Face Cream/Scrub: • 1 cup packed brown sugar • ½ cup coconut oil • 4 drops Lavender • 8 drops Lemongrass (or Lemon) • Mix and store in glass jar.

Daily Moisturizer Mash together the following in a mason jar or use a stick blender to combine.

• ½ cup coconut oil • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil • 10 drops of lavender essential oil Apply a small amount to your face after cleansing and toning. This balancing moisturizer works to create supple skin while minimizing fine lines.

Bonus: To get your skin extra soft apply to your entire body after a bath or shower, concentrating on dry areas, such as your elbows, back of the arms, knees and feet.

Peppermint and Lavender Heel Balm – 2oz • 1Tbsp coconut oil • 1Tbsp avocado oil • 1/2Tbsp cocoa butter • 1/2Tbsp castor oil • 1 1/2tsp. beeswax • 1 1/2tsp. shea • 10 drops peppermint • 6 drops lavender • In double boiler melt shea, beeswax, cocoa butter and coconut oil. Add avocado oil and castor oil and stir. Add essential oils, mix well and pout into container. For extra soothing store in the refridgerator.

Lavender Deodorant Mash together in a mason jar or use a stick blender to combine • 1 cup coconut oil

Deodorant Alternate: • 1/8 cup Baking Soda • 1/8 cup Arrowroot Powder • 1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil • 2 Tablespoons Shea Butter • 6 Drops Lavender • 3 Drops Purification • With a spoon, gently mix baking soda and arrowroot powder in one cup. In a second container use a fork to whip coconut oil and shea butter together.

Slowly add the powder mixture to the oil mixture in batches, continue to blend with a fork Add oils and mix well Scoop your deodorant into stick tapping it on the table to get level and fall into the bottom of the container.

Bath Salts: • 1 Cup Epsom Salt • ½ Baking Soda • 10 drops each of your fav of EO • Lavender, lemon, Stress Away, peppermint

Energizing Foot Scrub Treat your feet to this stimulating elixir, and they will carry you through the endless summer.

• ¼ cup olive oil • ¼ cup thick granulated sugar • 1 tbsp coffee grounds • 5 drops peppermint essential oil

Peppermint and Lemon Foot Scrub • 1/4c coconut oil • ¼ cup sugar • 3 drops each peppermint and lemon • whip all ingredients together with a hand mixer for 3-­‐5 minutes and store in a glass container

Orange Creamsicle Scrub: • 3/4 Cup White Sugar (or brown) • 1/4 cup coconut oil • 1 tsp vanilla extract

10 drops of Young Living Orange Essential Oil 1 8oz Glass Jar & some twine

Lemon scrub: • 1 C coconut oil • 2.3 tbsp grapseed oil • 2 tbsp honey • ¼ to ½ c sugar • 15-­‐20 drops EO (lavender, lemon, bergamot, geranium)

Coffee scrub for cellulite • 1 cup coffee grounds • 3 tbsp water • 8 drops of grapefruit EO • scrub for ten minutes twice a week. Results in four weeks after daily use

Pumpkin Spice Body Scrub • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar • 3 Tbsp. course kosher salt • 2 Tbsp. coconut oil • 1 1/2teasp. Pumpkin seed oil • ½ teasp. Vitamin e • 2 drops each cinnamon bark, ginger, nutmeg • Put all ingredients except for essential oils in small mixing bowl, using a hand or stand mixer beat for 3-­‐5 miutes. Add oils continue to beat another minute.

Makes 4 oz.

Shampoo: • ¼ cup coconut milk • 1/3 cup Liquid Castille Soap • ½ tsp of Vitamin E oil (Optional) • 10-­‐20 drops of Essential Oils, • For dry hair, add ½ tsp olive, almond, or grape seed oil (Optional) • Combine all ingredients, Shake well to mix and before each use.

• Use about 1 teaspoon per use.

Hair Conditioner: • In an empty bottle (a squeeze bottle would be best) add the following: • ¾ tsp Carrier Oil (fractionated Coconut, Jojoba, Sweet Almont, Grape seed Oil, Moroccan) • 1 ¼ tsp Guar Gum (a natural thickener commonly used in cosmetics and foods) • 1 cup distilled water (can be filtered water) • 7-­‐12 drops essential oil of your choice

• peppermint n rosemary for dry hair • lavender n rosemary for greasy hair • Add cedarwood for hair growth Add water. Stir, shake until the mixture is smooth and clump free and your conditioner is ready to use. One of the benefits of making your own conditioner is that you can customize them to you. If after making a batch that and you find that you want a thicker conditioner, add more Guar Gum, if you would like it thinner, add more water. You can also adjust the scent by adding more essential oil.

ACHES/PAINS/SLEEP/ILLNESS

Pain Cream: • 1 Cup Coconut Oil (use 1/2 cup for stronger pain) • 10 drops Valor • 10 drops Panaway • 10 drops Peppermint • Other oils to use: Frank. Lemongrass.

Alternate Pain Cream (doesn’t melt): • 1/4c shea butter • 1/4c. coconut oil • ½ Tbsp. beeswax • 1/2tsp. vitamin e • 10 drops each valor, panaway, peppermint, lemongrass frank • melt all ingredients together except essential oils in double boiler, mix well.

Add oils mix well.

Carpal Tunnel Essential Oil Blend: • 12 drops Wintergreen • 8 drops Cypress • 5 drops Marjoram • 5 drops Lemongrass • 3 drops Frankincense • 2 drops Basil.

Place all oils in a roll-­‐on bottle and fill remainder of bottle with fractionated coconut oil. Roll the blend on to affected areas as needed for pain and to reduce inflammation. After application, apply a cold compress to the areas.

You can also layer Pan-­‐Away or Deep Relief with it.

Sleepy Time Cream: • ½ cup of the base cream • Use base cream: ½ pound Shea Butter, 8 oz Almond Oil or Grape Seed Oil, 4 oz Coconut Oil

• Whip together for 5 minutes, it will become fluffy.

15 drops each of Cedarwood, Peace and Calming, Lavender, • Can also use veviter, orange, valor Mix, apply to feet before bedtime.

Annie's Eczema Cream • 1/2 Cup Coconut Oil • 1/2 Cup Shea Butter (depending on the consistency you want) • 3-­‐4 T avocado oil • 7-­‐10 drops Lavender • 7-­‐10 drops Frankincense • Add the coconut oil to a medium bowl and whip it until it's creamy. Add in the shea butter. And mix. Add in the avocado oil, mix. Then add in the essential oils. Once everything is thoroughly blended, store it in a glass container with a sealed lid.

• Apply twice daily to the eczema patches (or as often as you'd like).

Honey Lemon Cough Drops: • 12 oz Honey (may only need ½ cup) • 1-­‐2 Tbsp Apple Cider vinegar • 20-­‐30 drops YL Lemon EO • Pour honey and apple cider vinegar into a saucepan. Bring to a boil and allow it to reach 300 degrees. Stir the whole time so it doesn’t stick. Once it reaches 300 degrees, remove from heat. After about a minute, add Lemon Oil and stir well. Have a greased cookie sheet and or cookie molds ready. Allow the honey mixture to cool just a bit until the honey is a little less runny. Use a big spoon, drop small amounts onto the cookie sheet to cover the tops of the sucker sticks and or into the candy molds. Allow them to cool at room temperature until they harden.

Lemon Dropper Bomb: • Balsam Fir, Copaiba, Frankincense (5 drops each) in a capsule, as often as you need it.

Antibiotic Bomb: • 12 drops Thieves • 6 drops Oregano • 2 drops Frankincense • Place in capsule and take 1 every 4 hours for 3 days. Then 1 every 8 hours for 4 days.

Place in capsule and take 1 every 4 hours for 3 days. Then 1 every 8 hours for 4 days.

Cold and Flu Bomb: • 4 drops Lemon • 4 drops Thieves • 3 drops Oregano • 2 drops Frankincense • 4 drops Carrier Oil – V-­‐6 Vegetable Oil Complex, Grape Seed Oil, Fractionated Coconut Oil • Put into a capsule and take 2 times a day with a meal and a glass of water.

• **For children – multiply recipe and put into a 15 ml empty essential bottle and add a roller top and apply to bottom of feet.

• Don’t forget to diffuse as well.

Alternate Flu Bomb: • 12 drops Thieve • s6 drops Oregano • 2 drops Frankincense • Take in capsule 3 times per day. Half the dose for kids.

UTI and Yeast Infection Process: • Soak organic tampon in: • 5 drops Thieves • 5 drops Meleleuca Alternifolia (Mel-­‐A) (Tea Tree Oil) • Grape Seed Oil • Take Capsule of: • 3 drops Thieves • 3 drops Oregano • 3 drops Frankincense

Alternate Yeast Infection Process: • 2 tbsp carrier oil, melted coconut oil, or grape seed oil • 25 drops Thieves • 25 drops of Lemongrass (can use Purification) • Soak organic tampon in mixture, leave in overnight. Repeat as necessary.

Ear Infection • Step 1: • Thieves on feet • Eucalyptus, Rosemary and Lavender layered in that order around the ear and down the lymph nodes.

• Mix 2 drops of each with a tsp of carrier oil (grape seed oil) and place gently in ear. Rub mixture around ear and down lymph nodes. .

Make sure it is NOT dripping into the ear on the cotton ball. Do this mixture in rotation with Step 1.

Shingles: • 10 drops Sandalwood • 5 drops Cyprus • 4 drops Peppermint • 2 drops Ravensara • Mix in 1 tsp carrier oil (grape seed, fractionated coconut oil, v-­‐6 vegetable oil) Apply 6-­‐10 drops 1-­‐3 times per day, for 21 days.

Hand Foot and Mouth Disease • One cup of coconut, whipped • 8 drops each of purification, lavender, thieves, and oregano • Mix together and apply to chin, hand, and feet twice to three times daily

PMS Cramps • Rub a few drops of lavender on abdomen • Can also use clary sage, panaway, peace and calming, dragon time

FIRST AID KIT Bug Spray • 12 oz of Witch Hazel • Can add 8oz of WH and 4oz of water, but it doesn’t dry as fast • Add 10 drops each of peppermint, thieves, purification • Can also add citronella

Ouch Spray • In a 10 oz bottle add the following • 5 drops each of lavender, frankincense, Idaho blue spruce, purification • 1 tbsp Vit E oil • Fill the rest with witch hazel or water • Shake before each use
