Google Busy to innovate, Apple Busy with Patent War

Smartphones and tablet devices competition making all the vendors who participated in the “war” continues to innovate. However, while the others are busy to innovating, there is one vendor that busy “fuss” innovation of others. This was stated by Executive Chairman of Google Eric Schmidt during a visit to Seoul, South Korea, Thursday (09/27/2012). In the the launch of Nexus 7 in Seoul as part of Asia tour, Schmidt criticized the patent war that has engulfed the mobile industry. Although he mentions Google and Apple are friends, what Apple against Samsung regarded as a bad thing. “Literally, the patent war limiting choice, stifle innovation, and I think it’s awful,” said Schmidt, told technology website BGR. Schmidt confirmed that the players in this industry should be competing with spawn new innovations, instead of using patents as a weapon. He added that Google has taken a stance to support innovation, not war by patents. “I think one of the worst things that happened in recent years is the notion that there are so many patents in the mobile industry so the vendor could have stopped the sale of other vendors or manufacturers of rival devices,” said Schmidt. Schmidt also revealed that he will meet with a number of Samsung executives while in Korea to discuss various issues.
