Sony reportedly will stop optical disk devices production . Sony will do restructuring and change optical disk business to the trends devices that are more relevant today. Reported by Cnet, Tuesday (08/28/2012), according to source from Japan, Asahi Shimbun, the change effort was done as a step corporate restructuring. Sony will go out of business related to optical drives creation for PCs. Source says that it indicates a discoloration on traditional PC hardware design. Another source from Japan Yomiuri Shimbun revealed that approximately 400 workers, whether domestic or foreign, will face early retirement. It shows the presence of loss up to USD312 million experienced by the company through the report published earlier this month. Moreover, the source also said that Sony will close the optical disk division, Sony Opitarc in March next year. Furthermore, source said that the design of the traditional PC is under the hegemony of the new wave of tablet and ultrabook. Thus, the new generation of portable computing devices is said to no longer be able to accommodate the optical drive. Trends ultrabook devices currently available also support the latest operating system, Windows 8. Companies such as Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo and Sony also introduced the tablet-laptop (hybrid) which is a shift from the traditional PC designs.Read More on http://www.technonewspaper.com Related Posts Kodak Officially Stop Production camera
