MORE INFORMATION
Breeders Championship Pointscore:
We are excited to announce that we will be holding a new competition at this National, the inaugural Breeders Championship Pointscore.
As many of you would be aware, Mave Rostron of the famous Graecia Kennels UK recently passed away. In recognition of the legacy that both Mave and Alan have left the bullmastiff fraternity worldwide, we decided to hold this breeders event in their honour.
Breeders will accumulate points for dogs bred under their prefix at all shows ie the Curtain Raiser, Open Show, National Conformation, Sweepstakes and Property Classes. Points will be awarded for placings in all classes in all shows over the weekend. Dogs do not need to be owned by the breeder, points are accumulated based on the dogs prefix regardless of the owner.
The winning breeder will be awarded the Graecia Memorial Trophy which they will get to keep. This stunning trophy comes from Alan and Mave’s personal collection and has been kindly donated in their honour by Julie Lindley (Hyerdunscar Kennels UK). We would like to thank Julie for this very unique and special piece.
Breed Lecture:
We have invited Andrew Burt (VIC) to conduct a bullmastiff breed lecture after judging on Saturday. We anticipate this will start around 3.30pm after conformation judging and photos have been completed. This is open to all exhibitors, judges, trainee judges, and anyone interested in bull or molosser breeds. For trainee judges we can provide a hands on component and hope exhibitors will make their dogs available. It is a unique opportunity for people to see this many bullmastiffs in one place and what better way to promote our breed. Please come and join us for refreshments and learn more about our wonderful breed.
State Club Challenge:
Rules have been emailed to all state clubs. The State Club Challenge was started at the 3rd National in 2008, also held in Queensland. It is a competition between the state Bullmastiff Clubs with dogs being nominated by those clubs and submitted to the Show Manager prior to the show starting. Points are awarded for placings at the National conformation classes only. The winning state will receive the beautiful perpetual trophy, and the individuals from the winning state team will also receive a trophy. There is no entry fee for this competition.
1. Each state can be represented by a maximum of 3 dogs and 3 bitches.
2. Only dogs & bitches who will be 12 months of age or older on the first day of the National (20th May 2023) are eligible for nomination. Age classes that can contend for State of Origin are: Junior, Intermediate, Limit, Australian Bred, Open & Bred by Exhibitor.
