textures and block colors in a playful way of the pictures in this page. The use of shapes to create an unreal composition bring this images to a parallel universe. I created some image manipulations based on pictures is a collection of this images I manipulate. Here I am adding some examples.

This page continues the inspiration of the first page, with pastel tones. This time I also included a design layout of the website “stylebubble, a collage and one of my works, which is a digital mixed media work.
Watercolor overlapping manipulations and professional illustration for MIu Miu.
In Class Croquis based on live model for Visual Communication Class.
This page shows different collages that play with fashion image, fine arts and overlapping of images. The images of the right side of the page show both graphic design manipulation of still lifes and a mixed media collage I did last semester for my painting class.
Fashion illustration by Dominique Flaksberg for Tracy Reese, DKNY and Philip LIm SS2014 collections
Those are some website layouts that atract my interest for being clean and with sharp edges. I also like how the white background and shapes highlight the pictures, while some other layouts usually offuscate the content.
Nude model blind countours from Visual Communication Class
Those are some blind countours made in class overlapped with fashion illustration from the “100 Years of Fashion Illustration book
overlap of images of paperfashion.net and live drawings made in class.

you can use words to shape drawings...
There is also the possibility to design words based on other designs. In this case you can see how the letter has a design that has the same color of this fashion sketch. It is interesting to find shape, texture and color inspiration to creative elaborate letter designs by researching images that are interesting.
Meanings of words are interconnected with their images, which we automatically form in our heads. It is interesting to see how we design some word’s layouts in a way we connect the design to the word’s meaning. The online magazine “ROOKIE MAG” had a different word design for each month, as each month’s theme is around a different subject. The words in the edge of this page show the different expressions of this word designs.
EMBROIDERY
words can be composed by the meaning of the word in a lot of interesting ways. I like the way Marc Jacobs made the letters of this brand with his own body expression. The word “tweed is composed by hands making tweed, and a message can be tranmitted in an embroidery work. I like the dea of everyday objects being part of word communication.

PART II PRINT AND COLOR INSPIRATION
COLOR BLOCK
Color block is an inspiration that mixes strong colors in a beatuful way
Those designs are from senior students from the Antwerp school of design
Those designs are from the website stylebubble.uk
CUT AND SHAPE
The Cut and Shape inspiration shows eastern designs with a more neutral/ primary palette, creating strong images and clean design details.
CIRCUS Circus is a playful inspiration that mixes shapes and geometry to create illusional patterns.
This images are from Susie Bubble’s revoew of this Fashion Week (2015)
P L AY F U L
Playful is a concept that consists on the circus concept, yet in a more minimalistic way.
Those are some print/ photo manipulations I created for my personal blog. I believe they give a sense of my print style. All the pictures and drawings used were made by color and composition manipulation.

Print Making:
For this project we selected an image and extracted a 10-color palette. After that, we used the inspiration in the picture and the colors extracted to design 2 different patterns and possible color variations. This is my color pallette.

PHOTOSHOP: FRIDA This is the first photoshop textile design I made. I chose to use the face of Frida Kahlo as a design and play with colors in a Andy Warlhol kind of way. There is one pattern half drop and two color variations for each textile design in this presentation.
PHOTOSHOP: BALLERINA
ILLUSTRATOR: BOY
My Illustrator textile designs follow the same parametres of the previous photoshop designs. The different is the use of the pen tool on Illustrator to create different shapes, while in the photoshop file I manipulated the images directly.

BRAND DEVELOPMENT
FOREST OF THREAD environmental fashion
In technical studio we had to create a brand, a logo and I also created an ad that captures the mood of my brand. The skirt was also a class project I sew.
MODEL DRAWING
All these model drawings are in class drawings that were scanned and manipulated in photoshop. I used different medias such as watercolor, colored pencils, pen and charcoal to create different image effects and experiment different materials.
This is the end of the second part of this book.
PART 3: CONCLUDING THE SEMESTER
In Part 3 of this book there will be a shorter presentation of technique development with some final results from this semester’s work from all my fashion classes.
Plaids and Stripes Development
For this assignment we developed a stripe and plaid prints with two different color variations.
PRINT GALLERY
This is a summary of all the prints I have developed during this semester.
PHOTOSHOP FLATS
We scanned in the flats we made by hand and, after editing them, we applied our prints and designed them so they would have different colors and designs. This process was done in Photoshop.
ILLUSTRATOR FLATS For our Illustrator flats, we scanned in our drawings and traced over them with a pen tool. After that, we followed the same process we did on Photoshop, adding our prints and designing our flats in different color and print variations.
DIGITAL PHOTOSHOP FIGURES
The drawings you see in this page are composed by handmade sketches that were scanned, colored and edited with different prints in Photoshop. I made three variations of the same drawings to see how the different fabric and print effects would look like on the same drawig.
DIGITAL ILLUSTRATOR FIGURES
These drawings are composed by handmade sketches that were scanned, traced with the pen tool on illustrator, and colored and edited with different prints. I made three variations of each drawings using different prints and two different coloring concepts. This exercise was one of the most challenging ones so far.
For the vector figures assignment, I decided to make something a bit different and challenging: Getting out of the fashion sphere, I decided to trace faces, as it is a challenge to get the right expressions of the characters. After that, I created a design composition with the illustrator vector figures and this is what you see below. The vector drawing fashion illustrations are in my digital illustrator figures, as I used this same technique. Hope you enjoy it!

These photo manipulations consist of the use of drapes I did for my design studio class, manipulated so my prints made in my Visual Communication class were added to it. I really enjoyed this process, in which muslim pieces can be trasformed in prototypes of real garments.
