oundation is a great makeup product for evening out skin tone, concealing blemishes and other imperfections, and for reducing redness in the skin. Choosing the correct foundation for your skin tone and skin type is essential for a flawless look. The wrong foundation can look mask-like and add years to your face. To choose the rough color, match the décolleté as closely as possible. This is how makeup artists choose foundation colors for photo shoots, runway, and red carpet looks for celebrities. If you look closely at photos in magazines, you will see that the face matches the body. However, in most cases, the model’s true face and neck shades are often lighter than the res of the body due to more sun exposure on the chest area and exfoliating skin care products used on the face. Matching the décolleté will give you a more uniform and professional makeup look. When testing on the chest area, if the foundation seems to vanish on the skin with minimal effort, you have chosen the right color. Avoid choosing your color in fluorescent lighting, as this can give a green cast to the color. Next, choose the right formula. If your skin is dry or combination, you can opt for a cream founda-

tion for a heavier coverage. If your skin is on the oilier side, an oil-free liquid or powder is your best bet. An alternative to foundation is the new Color CC Creme. This “all in one” product features color adapting pigments that enable it to match your skin tone. These types of products usually contain SPF to protect the skin from UVA and UVB rays which is great for daily use. However, if you are going to be photographed, steer clear of any foundations with sunscreen since the flash can reflect off the skin and white out the face in your pictures. To apply your foundation, dab on T-zone and apples of cheeks. Using a makeup sponge or foundation brush will give a more even finish. Spread the foundation to the outer areas of the face, and to the jawline for a blended look. If you want a light coverage, use a “swiping” motion. For heavier coverage, “stipple” the foundation. Dab on the areas needing more coverage. If your neck is lighter than your face, dust some darker powder on the neck to blend the color. Check out the accompanying video to see these techniques. Set with powder and complete your look with contour, if desired, blush, and lip and eye makeup.

ays are getting longer which means more sunshine! Let’s be honest, when searching for the right pair of sunglasses, thinking about adequate UV protection from overexposure to harmful ultraviolet rays is the last thing on your mind. You are thinking about style & comfort. You want to look great & find a pair that will complete your look. I have absolutely no idea how to choose sunglasses for my face. Basically, I try on a ton of pairs; ask the advice of the sales person & any stranger who would be willing to share an unbiased opinion. Finally there is the a-Ha moment when you find that perfect pair, like they were made for me! Choosing the right pair can be tough, much like choosing the perfect jean. So here are a few tips to keep in mind to simplify your search. First let’s start with the different shapes to the face.

Trade Secrets: July 2016 Edition - 13
Out of the Closet HEART-SHAPED Characterized by a wide forehead, narrower jaw line, high cheekbones, & narrow chin. You want to choose a frame that doesn’t draw attention to the forehead. Choose delicate, wire or oversize plastic frames that will draw the eye outward & balance your face. If you have small, delicate features, don’t choose large, heavy frames. If you have more dramatic features, you pick larger frames. But most importantly, choose a frame that mimics the shape of your face ROUND If the width & length of your face are roughly the same, look for frames that will lengthen & slim the face. Choosing square frames or something with angular lines is best. Avoid round frames as they will only make your face appear more round. SQUARE You have a square face if your jawline is strong & your forehead is broad. Try a frame with rounded frames or circular a lens, both of which will soften the angles of your face. Also, it is important to think about proportion. A larger square face can handle a larger round frame & vice versa (smaller

square face is best to handle a smaller round frame). OVAL-SHAPED Oval-shaped face is long & thin with your chin slightly narrower than your forehead. Yay, lucky you! Just about any style of sunglasses works on you. So go out & have fun mixing it up with your frame styles. The one consideration to keep in mind is with an oval-shaped face; choose glasses that are the same width as your face, not wider. OBLONG These faces are long & narrow with few angles. Extra thickness on the sides of the frame helps give the illusion of more facial width. The goal is to cover more of your face to break of the length of it. Choose oversized sunglasses to give oblong faces an advantage of sharpening otherwise soft features. If you still have no idea, obviously, someone at a glasses store should be able to help, but a make-up counter is a best bet to ask as they deal so closely with the contours of the face. Hopefully, now, this will be easy enough!

o believe in something is to believe in everything. Being in the United States means that you are allowed to practice any religion that you chose to, whether it be Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, New Age or Christianity. For Natasha, it is her insatiable love for God that has projected her into the career that she has worked so hard for. From playing dress up at a young age to now actually dressing up, she has made herself into an actress, singer, songwriter and designer. No matter who you are, where you are from or what you look like, you can be anything that you want to be. This is the motivation that made Natasha into the woman she is now. Being a Christian, “When I see acts of hatred whether it be petty gossip or jealousy or mass shootings such as the one we just witnessed in Orlando I feel deeply disheartened. It is my hope that the human race will at last understand that to respect and help one another regardless of how different we may be is crucial if we are to achieve world peace”. World peace seems like just an afterthought when doing commercials, fashion print, runway, editorial, catalogue, fit, showroom and promotional modeling is what Natasha does for a living. But she is “an avid proponent of the underdog ans she enjoys devoting her energy to various efforts that advocate for equal rights and community development. Despite how crazy Natasha’s schedule may be she always make a point never to keep her priorities out of line: God first, family second, career third”. TS: What is your best memory as a child? ND: I have three memories that will forever be ingrained in my mind and heart, each of which involves members of my family. The first is of my mom and I and our nighttime reading routine. Most of the books were borrowed from our local library during our weekly trips there. Puppet shows and group storytime’s in the children’s room were a must before heading out with books coming out of our ears. We would almost always go over our weekly rental allotment and we would always get a chuckle out of this as we made our weighty trip out to the

parking lot. The second is of my dad, brother and I filling up our empty above ground pool with water at the start of every summer. It was utter elation and silliness as we spent the entire day inside of it with the hose turned on at full force, refusing to wait just one more day of being without a pool. It seemed like it would never fill fast enough and to pass the time we waged water wars with the ice cold water coming from the hose. The third is of my brother and I on Saturday mornings. We would get up before the sun was even out, set up a sort of camp by constructing a fort out of our couch pillows, throws, and kitchen chairs, grab a bowl of the week’s sugary cereal of choice and then tune in to the Saturday morning cartoons. TS: Where did you attend school/college? Do you plan to continue your education? ND: I went to Simmons College in Boston Ma. and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing & Communications and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. As far back as I can remember I was always enthusiastic about attending school, so much so in fact, that when I was in elementary school if I got sick I would cry till no end begging my parents to take me regardless. My dedication to my education was rewarded when I was afforded a half tuition scholarship to Simmons College and entrance into their Honors Program. Although I have prided myself on always having been a good student, I don’t plan on furthering my education in a formal setting any time soon other than perhaps participating in day-long acting coursework. TS: How would you describe yourself? ND: My zodiac sign is Capricorn and I would say I fit the mold quite accurately as far as being Capricorn is concerned: faithful, responsible, loyal, ambitious, determined, independent, cautious, polite, practical and sincere. TS: What did you want to be when you were growing up? ND: I was really good at science in school and I have always had a soft spot for children so becoming a pediatrician seemed like a perfect fit. Plus I had a very charismatic and knowledgeable pediatrician who made the job look like a lot of fun.

Talent Talks TS: What type of clothing and accessories do you create? ND: I create both classic and modern women’s clothing and accessories that I would describe as ladylike and sexy while possessing an air of aristocracy and old-Hollywood glam. My design style tends to be eccentric or costume-like and I like color - from pastel to bright neon hues - lace, beading, transparent fabrics, intricate details and contrasting and untraditional textures. My inspiration comes from all around me. I can be in an elevator and the marble on the walls will provide me with a vision of a particular fabric texture and color pattern or I can be working on my laptop and notice some cords tangled below my desk and I immediately see a dress shape. TS: What article of clothing do you currently have in your closet that makes you look and feel your best? Why? ND: It’s got to be something feminine yet sophisticated. My orange knee-length form fitted dress comes to mind. I tend to prefer form-fitted apparel. When I wear loose-fitted clothing I just don’t seem to feel as “put-together” and how I feel each time I dress is extremely important to me because it influences my disposition. TS: What fashion trends do you like / dislike the most? Why? ND: Although I enjoy seeing the latest releases on the catwalk, I don’t believe in adhering to trends. It is more important for me to enjoy what outfit I am in than to buy or wear something because someone else says it’s the “in” thing to wear. That’s not to say that I would never buy or wear something that’s trending, but if I did, the fact that it is trending then wouldn’t be the impetus for putting that something on. TS: What is your go to beauty product or fashion accessory/item? ND: It’s a three-way tie between dry shampoo, wide belts (to be worn at the waist above dresses or tops) and push-up bras. TS: What clothing store do you love and find yourself going most when shopping? ND: Most definitely TJMaxx and Marshalls. They’re
so alluring since you never know what you’ll find there and I find it so much fun searching through their racks of clothing with the possibility of finding a designer label garment at a fraction of what it would cost elsewhere. I once went to a TJMaxx in search of a gown to wear to a function I was invited to attend and I found a Sue Wong gown for less than $200 AND it happened to be exactly what I was looking for! Who doesn’t enjoy a bargain?! TS: What outdoor physical activities do you enjoy the most & why? ND: By far it would have to be my early morning long runs. I just love mornings and spending time outside during this time of day before everyone is awake. Aside from the familiar runners high, there’s a sort of magic in the air…with the birds chirping, the greenery’s dewy glow, the wafts of the earth’s dirt and the occasional animal friend that crosses my path. Too beautiful to lose by pressing snooze. TS: What's your favorite TV show of all time, and why? ND: Punky Brewster hands down. Never missed an episode when it was running and I must have watched a rerun of each episode at least twice. She had the coolest treehouse ever and the most wildly colored bedroom! I also always got a kick out of her daring, tomboyish personality and I enjoyed the positive messaging. TS: Do you enjoy or know how to cook? What’s your favorite dish to make? ND: I consider myself somewhat kitchen savvy. I enjoy cooking because I can customize a dish to my liking by using ingredients that are considered off the beaten path and healthier alternatives than those traditionally used such as nutritional yeast, tempeh, coconut sugar, almond & coconut flour and powdered peanut butter. My fav dishes to make are veggie stir fries and rice crispy treats. I usually like to cook with as many natural ingredients as possible but this girl has a serious sweet tooth ;) I must also confess I’m kind of a prima donna when it comes to working in the kitchen since I dislike the part where you get your hands all sticky/greasy ;) TS: What’s your favorite type of music? ND: The guitar. Instant cool factor. TS: What’s your favorite flower and why? ND: With a last name such as mine - Di Fiore – that translates from Italian to English to mean “of the flower” you would think that I have that down right?! Well, you’re right. I most definitely do. After all, what girl doesn’t? I have many favs, however. I’m drawn to anything with a sweet smelling scent. Roses, lilies, lilacs and peonies to name a few. TS: What’s your favorite word, and why? ND: Love. I am very a spiritual person who passionately believes in God and fulfilling Gods will through the gift of life that has been given to me. God is love to me and this is my motivation and source of inspiration in all that I do. TS: Share your favorite quote ND: I live by the motto “go within or go without”. I strive to live a life of learning and one in which I am always competing against myself, improving on my inner and outer self, in an effort to strengthen my faith and grow closer to God. TS: What advice would you give to other up and coming models/actors out there? ND: Be you; everyone else is already taken. Never compare yourself to someone else as far as why they have this and you don’t or why that happened to you and not them. Because we are all different we have the opportunity to be each other’s teachers. Welcome rejection as easily as you do acceptance. Never look back and question your decisions; be confident that you made them for a reason and that they lead you to exactly where you should be today. Smile and be kind often. Be honest with yourself and sincere with others. Try to view challenges like you would an exciting new adventure and don’t be too hard on yourself. Respect others. Practice patience. Enjoy and trust in your life’s journey and, last but certainly not least, pray daily or do whatever it is that brings you peace within your soul.

The Story of Jeffrey Dickerson

hen you see a building made of glass, metal, brick, concrete, cinderblock or wood that is all you see. But Jeffery Dickerson sees so much more than that. Being from Providence, Rhode Island, Dickerson attended RIC as a business management major, but 2 years later realized that he did not want to pursue that. He spent 3 years at The School of Fashion Design Boston and received his diploma there. The ideas for his clothing lines comes from “fabric I find and I will just imagine the best way to utilize this that would look amazing. I’ll also be out in Providence or Boston, in my daily routine, and see something interesting and then my mind just blows up with ideas.”

Pursuits Thinking of how the clothing will look on models before actually being on models is a huge contributing factor to deciding what to design. “Presentation is a big deciding factor in what I make. I like to imagine each thing I do as a performance piece. I’ll picture it being photographed or on stage in a performance or even on a red carpet and how the woman wearing it is posing,” Dickerson said. The models that Dickerson chooses have to have a level of confidence not found in most women. Usually women wear clothing that makes them feel comfortable. Having a clothing confidence is what Dickerson is looking for in his models. To wear something you would never think of wearing, is to be confident. “She would want people to stare in awe, even if it’s just out to the grocery store,” he said. When people see Dickerson’s clothing lines he wants them to think ““WOW”. But I really want them to see how much I care when I make something. How I take into account different aspects to make what I do functional and comfortable while also being stylish. I want them to know how much work I put into it, especially the more elaborate evening gowns.” He got inspiration from Lady Gaga, a lyrical artist who we all know to have the most elaborate costumes. It was with these costumes that Dickerson saw the amazing variety of styles that appear in the fashion industry. StyleWeek, for the past 3 seasons has been his main event, but unfortunately it was put on hiatus. He hopes to appear in Boston Fashion Week in the fall, but for now he plans on taking anything that comes his way. Dickerson’s main piece of clothing that he constructs is gowns. He wants viewers to see the intricate details that he sews into each gown. Before he had gone into fashion, Dickerson was big on construction. At a young age he was “just creative and liked making random things that I thought I could do or at least try to do. This was also when I was much younger so I would try and make things that I saw on the kid shows I would watch or something I imagined.” That was when he turned to the fashion industry and rather than constructing, he decided to take what he had learned from creating, and put it into new clothing pieces. In the future, Dickerson hopes to have a successful line that people can look in awe. Then he said, “But if things don’t work out in the competitive 28 - Trade Secrets: July 2016 Edition
world I don’t mind having a job with someone else’s successful line. As long as I am true to what I do, which ever happens works for me.” He says that the best way to have no regrets in life is to do everything you possibly can, whenever you get the chance to do it. If you want to make it in the fashion industry you have to “Go to fashion related events. Meet the people in the fashion world, even if it’s in a small city like Providence or Boston. Not only will you meet people in that world but those people may know someone in NY or someone that works for a big company and you can make connections with them.” Another big piece of advice Dickerson had was to never do anything that could possibly ruin your reputation. If you say something wrong in front of the wrong person you could ruin your career. “Talk smack when you’re alone,” he said. Positivity is the number one way to make friends everywhere and anywhere.

appy accidents do not come often. They come when you are least expecting them and you don’t know where you will end up after. Imagine becoming a fashion designer…by accident. The clothing line, I Am Kréyol, was created by designer Joëlle Fontaine, a mother and wife by the young age of 23. Coming to the states at 8 years old, she originally lived in Haiti. “I am not really considered a true Haitian according to the natives because I am somewhat Americanized but I am an outsider in the states as well, because I am Haitian to the core. I counter attack this identity crisis by creating my own worldbeing an alien among the natives and proud of my uniqueness,” she said. While living as a stay-at-home mom, Fontaine felt cooped up and ready to explode. This was when she started learning to sew by taking apart clothing and then putting them back together again. Her mother “would always try to teach me,
32 - Trade Secrets: July 2016 Edition
but I was stubborn and never wanted to learn. Now here I was inheriting her kill and creating. I started with curtains and pillows, and moved on to garments.” It was then that her friend had opened up a boutique and she was invited to attend a conference for New York Fashion Week. At the end of NY Fashion Week, there is a fashion show. With only creating 3 pieces of clothing in her life, she decided to send the pictures of the pieces to NY Fashion Week, and to her surprise, they accepted! She created 12 looks in one week for NY Fashion Week and people began calling her a designer even before she realized she even was one. And that was when Kreyol began, more commonly known as I Am Kreyol. But do not mistake this clothing for just a “Haitian thing.” Its meaning is far beyond that. “Kréyol represents vibrancy, color, resilience, boldness and above all strength. It is an idea that speaks to us all, no matter where we come from or what we look like. We all know pain and struggle,
victory and joy,” she said. Haiti is the first black nation to gain its independence. With the country laying on the hurricane belt, the last earthquake spiked economic growth, and business was able to greatly develop. They have wonderful music, extravagant dancing, parades, carnivals like the Rara carnival and homemade instruments. Haitians are very spiritual, believing in Voodoo spirits such as Iwa. The landscape is beautiful just like the people that live there. Its main language is French and Haitian Creole, which sounds familiar, doesn’t it? Fontaine hopes to put “our clothes in Boutiques and retailers around the country, Boston, New York, Cali and one day open up a manufacturing company in Haiti to provide jobs for the community there,” she said. The men and women who represent Kréyol are envisioned as “warriors in A-line dresses and combat boots. It’s a women or man who is not bound by generational or ethnic backgrounds but simply one who lives boldly and walks in his or her purpose.” With Haiti being located in the Caribbean, Fontaine took some of the patterns, textures and colors from the culture as an influence of her designs. Unlike most designers, she doesn’t bother with sketching out a design beforehand. Rather, she looks for the fabric, the colors and the patterns which then skyrockets her into an abundance of creative ideas that turn into her own designs. Her heritage is a major factor in the construction of each piece as she uses “the dresses my mom used to make for me in Haiti or old uniforms.” Her designs are also derived from “1800s’ silhouettes, vintage, precise cuts, bold funkadelic patterns, discothèque sequence and classic femininity, Kréyol also utilizes old Haitian uniforms and dresses as a basis and inspiration for design.” The line I Am Kréyol can be found online at iamkreyol.com or ninteenthamendment.com, and if
they don’t have what you like, unlike many designers, you can email them at iamkreyol@gmail.com and they can assist you from there. The clothing has been featured in Macy’s Herald Square in New York (partnered with Ninteenth Amendment), Fashion Week with AmcoNYC (spring collection), the Institute of Contemporary Art Museum in Boston (partnered with Boston Caribbean Fashion Week), the Museum of Fine Arts during the Juneteenth event and a Trunk Show with Goorin Bros on Newbury Street. From the Inside Out
“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”- Coco Chanel
O
ften I will work with people on getting comfortable with who they are, what they want, all the while digging into what they value most in life. This is such a fun part of my job because it can be a creative way to approach who we long to be. Ultimately this work turns to expressing these desires in different ways. How does one express who they are and what they want to be? It is done through our language, actions, body and one of my favorites; using your own personal style & flair. “Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way you live.” – Gianni Versace Our outer dressing, clothes, qualities and characteristics represent who we are externally. This is not the whole summation of what we have going on in our inner world but it the first part that we
36 - Trade Secrets: July 2016 Edition
show to the world. Even though this tends to be a tiny part of our entire being it is the most easily changed, morphed and directed in terms of making your life different. It’s the place where we can see the fastest results and biggest difference. Used as a scale to mark progress that we may not know otherwise. Who you are and what you like are intimately tied with your expression and sense of style. As a matter of fact, a way to start to be more authentically you is to begin to identify what in your wardrobe makes you feel happy, defines you and gives you that extra added ummmph. When we want to step into a new life, a new way of living one of the first things I suggest is to begin living “as if ”. There is science about this, as we begin to mirror and behave in ways that we identify as our ideal, we can then create a shift to BE that in what we want to become. You see it all goes back to neuroscience, once we begin to dress the part for
From the Inside Out what we want, our brains miraculously begin to wire and fire to make it happen. Imagine how simple and awesome that is! There are so many people out there that tell me, “well once I lose weight” or “get that promotion” or insert long unattained goal here….. they will begin to live and behave the way they want AFTER they have achieved their stated desire. The problem with this is that if you continue to wait for things that you haven’t achieved yet, before you begin to take care of yourself, then most likely you will have a hard time getting to where you want to go. Now that doesn’t sound too fun. Let’s get back to expressing yourself. Who do you want to be? Make a list, dream big. Imagine how you would spend your day if there were no limits. Close your eyes and really visualize it. Now look at how you are carrying yourself. What are you wearing? What is around you and what are you feeling? Are there others surrounding you or are you alone? These are all indicators to your personal sense of expression and life you long to live. Once you begin to know what this is that you want take the first step and start to practice this, by simply dressing the part. Dress as you want to be seen not as you think
you are right now. If you want to be treated as a respected professional in your business, wear clothing that reflects it. Want to embrace your stay at home mom-ness, then be proud and show it. Being aligned with what is important to you right now can be expressed through your wardrobe and actually help you achieve that goal. Is this the end all answer? Well, it’s a start that can bring you fully into your realized life and dreams. And sometimes, all we need is the start, as a matter of fact that is the way we achieve anything, it is by merely starting. Wanna try this neat trick of manifesting your dream life through your wardrobe? Okay, then, here it is EASY BREEZY STYLE, ask yourself two simple questions: Who do I really want to be? And how would I dress if I were that? Now go on and enjoy your July in “style” of course!!! And remember, I’d love to hear from you. taly is famous for its countless wonders, such as its impressive historical monuments, its extraordinary natural beauty and its famous and healthy cuisine that the whole world envies us for. It’s also home to famous inventors, all kinds of artists, writers, painters, musicians, singers, actors, dancers and fashion creative geniuses. I would now like to dedicate this article to my world of Italian movies, by talking about our greatest actors and actresses of the past and present, who really made the history of cinema with their charisma, talent and beauty. The actor who most represents us abroad, is without doubt Marcello Mastroianni. He starred mainly in films by Federico Fellini and Vittorio De Sica. It is the famous film “La Dolce Vita” that has become known all over the world. The actress and icon of Italian cinema is Sophia Loren, who along with M. Mastroianni starred in beautiful and important films. Her fame as an international star won an Oscar in the film “La Ciociara” (1962). Even today it is the symbol of Italian sensuality. One of the actors and most influential records of Italian and international cinema was Vittorio de Sica, who won in his extraordinary career, four Oscars: “Sciuscià” (Shoeshine), Ladri di biciclette” (The Bicycle Thief), “Ieri, oggi e domain (Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow “ and “Il giardino dei Fizi-Contini” (The Garden of the Finzi-Contini). How can I forget the excited scream “Roberto !!!” Sophia Loren, handed over the Oscar in 1997 for Roberto Benigni, with “La vita è Bella” (Life is Beautiful). And “one of our best and most popular players in Italy, which often gives us ironic and irreverent

She has received numerous awards for her extraordinary performance in the movie “Human Capital.” Her partner for many years, is the actor Riccardo Scamarcio, known for his leading role in the famous film “Three Meters Above the Sky.” The couple appeared together deeply in love, on the Croisette in Cannes last May. One of the most talented actresses of the past was Anna Magnani, with her popular dramatic performances. She was the first to win an Oscar with the film “The Rose Tattoo”. The beautiful actress Maria Grazia Cucinotta, owes its fame to the late, great and extraordinary actor Massimo Troisi. Both were the protagonists in “Il Postino” (1994), which won five Oscars. Abroad M.G. Cucinotta is best known for her role in the James Bond film, “Agent 007”. One of our best actors and sex-symbol is Raoul Bova. He starred in several films of various kinds, both in Italy and abroad. The last film he was in he played the protagonist with Jonny Depp and Angelina Jolie in “Tourist”, and in the past has participated in “Alien vs. Predator”. Another brilliant actor is our Stefano Accorsi, well known for his past relationship with French model and actress Laetizia Casta. Among his most famous films, I want to remember “Le Fate Ignoranti” (Ignorant Fairies), “Baciami ancora” (Kiss Me Again), “L’ultimo Bacio” (The Last Kiss) and “Tutta colpa di Fidel” (Blame it on Fidel), that has achieved great success in the US.

A Wink From Italy
Among the film stars of our past, they are now icons that contemporary actresses are inspired by. Silvana Mangano, who although not reaching the same success of his contemporary Sophia Loren, is still one of the best Italian actors. His great talent is expressed in “Riso Amaro”. Another star of the past, who recently left us, is the great and good Virna Lisi, an icon of style and elegance that was able to express her artistic talents in several films, including “Queen Margot.” One of the actresses most appreciated at the time, Margherita Buy, is an excellent interpreter of female roles difficult in complicated situation. Classic Italian beauty, with her sim-

ple ease is Vittoria Puccini, who in her latest cinematic effort has masterfully played the difficult role of the writer, Oriana Fallaci. Although she passed his eightieth Monica Vitti, still she remains a sunny and pleasant actress. As a beautiful young woman, her career is full of great successes as “La ragazza con la pistola” (The Girl with the Gun). In “Divorzio all’ italiana” (Divorce Italian Style) the legendary Stefania Sandrelli fell in love with the great Marcello Mastroianni, but not only that! In his career of 15 years she is still highly valued by several Italian records. Among the “monsters” of the skill of

the film, it is to be considered our past Vittorio Gassmann, the great Antonio de Curtis nicknamed Totò, the real prince of laughter, together with the great Edoardo De Filippo who has gladdened us, even as children with its grandiose and unforgettable interpretations. And what of our Alberto Sordi, who in his major motion picture, photographed exactly the Italian society. Returning to the present, players like Luca Argentero have literally turned the heads of many girls, who with his smile and air of good guy has achieved more notoriety. To round off this little roundup of our
famous actors, I would like to quote the beautiful Roman actress Sabrina Ferilli. Her sympathy, her typical Roman accent, and her great success on television makes her one of the most beloved Italian actresses. She’s one of the stars of the film Oscars “La Grande Bellezza” (The Great Beauty), by P. Sorrentino. There are endless stars of our Italian cinema, and it is impossible to name the others in the little space I have available, but I hope that with this article of mine, I might have been able to give you at least a small gift from our Italian movies! Hello from Italy ! Cinzia Antonelli

Kylie Jenner From Yeezy to Puma
The Buzz
K
ylie Jenner has signed with Puma officially for the Spring/Summer women’s training campaign that was launched in April of this year. But what about the Yeezy line? What about Kanye West? Kanye took to twitter to tell all that Kylie would never join Puma and that she is definitely all in for the Yeezy line. Then the release from Adam Petrick, the Global Director for Brand and Marketing for Puma broke the silence about the news and whispers flourished. Jenner was offered a solid $1 million to become a collaborator for Puma. An offer that not many of us can refuse. But like all young people who are wild and free, Jenner decided to take her own path and not to let anyone stop her. Of course that $1 million was definitely a push towards Puma. Jenner was not the only one who joined as a Puma ambassador this year. Rihanna released almost a year ago that she would be doing a line with Puma called Puma by Rihanna with the word “Fenty” on each item. She was declared creative director and has publically worn Puma, just as Jenner has, to being attention to the brand. Rihanna also took to Twitter to show support for herself and get people hyped about her new shoes that were designed by, of course, Rihanna. But how did Kanye react to this? He was extremely supportive, going to the fashion show hosted by Rihanna to show the Puma line and said encouraging words about her. When he found out that Kylie signed with Puma, Twitter took a hit. After Kanye was said to be more than 100% sure that Kylie was with Yeezy all the way, everything was changed. After being in the Yeezy fashion shows previously, Jenner was seen on sidelines of the season 3 show. An obvious statement yet the familial truth is unknown. Everything that is happening in the Kardashian-Jenner family is staying behind closed doors. For being such open people, some things are meant to be muffled. Needless to say, West was not as supportive to Jenner as he was to Rihanna. No one can truly say if she went behind West’s back to make the deal
or it was just a publicity stunt to promote drama for the Kardashian-Jenner family once again, but all we know is that Jenner has now joined Puma, and she is rocking it. Family is always forgiving though. This is a little different however, then that of a normal family spat. The majority of people don’t have the problems that these celebrities have. But our family news never makes it to the tabloids or the news. Because Jenner is such an influential figure in young people’s lives, Puma wanted her with their brand. A great marketing move on their part. The more a celebrity is looked up to, the more the product will want to be bought by followers of that celebrity. A classic “he/she has it, so I want it” type of marketing. Have you ever seen Chris Evans (Captain America) wearing a jacket and said, “Wow, that’s a nice jacket I want it?” Well that is marketing at its finest. Intentional or not. When a celebrity wears a certain clothing line, smokes a certain cigarette, eats at a certain restaurant or goes on a certain type of diet, you can bet on your Yeezy Boost 750s that someone is going to see them wearing that clothing, smoking that cigarette, eating at that restaurant or going on that diet and they will want to do it too. Yeezy is more of a grunge look while Puma is an all athletic line. You wouldn’t compare an $880 knitted sweater from the Yeezy clothing line to a $75 fleece jacket from Puma. It would be just a guess that Jenner could have gone to Puma because she wanted her followers and fans to be able to wear the clothes that she was wearing, or at least be able to afford it. But putting prices aside, the popularity of the Yeezy line has done nothing but grow. I dare you to go online and search for Yeezy clothing. It is near impossible to find his website other than the one site that sells an original DONDA crewneck sweatshirt for $140 and has the Life of Pablo soundtrack available on digital download for $20. Jenner is a huge icon for young people today, and so is Kanye West. Tabloids can make up stories about why Jenner changed sides, but we will never know the real truth, and yet you still love them both the same.
