Tips for obtaining a cisco certification If you are an engineer it is likely that in your career you will have to get a Cisco certification, and most likely you will have to do it several times as the exam does expire. Here are a few tips to get that certification.

Familiarize yourself with exam Just like any other important exam you may have taken in your life, there is a way to familiarize yourself with the interface of the exam. Be aware of the best CCNA test taking tips and how to take advantage of them fully.

Manage Your Time Efficiently You have an hour and a half (90 minutes) to finish the exam. Know just how much time you have to spend on each question. If you spend more or less on a specific question, remember that you will have less or more time on the rest of the exam respectively. Remember that simulation questions tend to take longer to figure out, and that some questions are worth more of your grade than other questions so you will want to take your time for those.

Write Helpful Notes It is completely within the rules to ask for scratch paper and write down any important notes you think you may need or forget while taking the exam. This helps you from overwhelming yourself with too much too remember at once, and lets you breathe easy knowing that you have your notes.

No Going Back Unlike other tests you have taken in the past, you cannot change your answer on the CCNA test. Not only is there not enough time but it is not allowed. Every answer is final, so don’t rush through it hoping that you can go back and change anything.

No Negative Marking On the same note, you may not be able to change any of your answers but none of your wrong answers will negatively affect your grade. This is the type of test that only gives you credit for the answers you get right, and does not take off points for the questions you get wrong. That means there is no excuse for leaving any question blank. A guess is better than nothing and can even end up being right and giving you points.

Read review books more than once If you really want to internalize the information that will show up on the test, read as many review books as you possibly can and read them more than once. This will give you the upper hand you need while taking the test, and store the information in your long-term memory, rather than forgetting the information a week after you get your certification.
