ART FAIR This years art fair ,that was held in April ,was another huge success. The theme was "Celebrate the Heart of America". Students enjoyed patriotic themed arts and crafts. Student artwork was displayed through the halls. There was also a table to make postcards for our troops. The postcards were hand delivered to the 911th air-wing in Moon Township. Volunteers from Kohl's were available to assist at the tables. I wanted to say thank you to all that participated in making this event successful. A special thanks to the Donaldson PTA for sponsoring the event. Thank you to the staff, parents and students for attending. Also, if it weren't for Mrs. March and Ms. Turici, the art fair would not be possible. So, thank you for your hard work and dedication to the arts!! Have a great summer!

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT Junior Achievement is an organization that helps students better understand how their families, neighborhoods, communities, and their country work and how they can participate and help to make each one a better place to live. They learn about money, citizenship and community. They are taught appropriate lessons for each grade kindergarten through 5th. Each classroom is taught by a JA volunteer (May until the end of schoolafter PSSA). Each volunteer is given a preassembled packet of lesson plans and required materials for 5 mini lessons of ½ hour each. I ask each volunteer to commit to either ½ the lessons (2 or 3 lessons) for their child’s classroom or if possible all 5 lessons. The kids love to see their parents volunteer in their classroom. The lessons are self-explanatory and VERY EASY to teach. CLEARANCES ARE A MUST FOR THIS COMMITTEE. JUNIOR ACHIEVEMNT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Junior Achievement is looking for classroom volunteers!!! If you love to be in the classroom with your child, this is your perfect opportunity. These 5 preplanned lessons require very little preplanning. Each lesson can be taught within the 30 to 45 minute range. Teachers are very flexible and are willing to work with you and your schedule. If you would like to volunteer or for more information, please contact Barb McElhany at 724-6950385 or mcelhany5@comcast.net.
