Don Bullard

Don Bullard, a distinguished insurance industry veteran, concluded his illustrious 36-year career with a well-earned retirement in 2020 at the age of 71. His journey through the complex insurance world, marked by significant achievements and leadership roles, reflects a life dedicated to excellence and service. Starting in 1972, Don launched his insurance career with State Farm, where his tireless dedication quickly established him as a standout agent. By 1995, he had reached the pinnacle of his career at State Farm, recognized as the top agent in the U.S. and Canada, a position he held multiple times due to his continuous top-tier performance. After a successful tenure at State Farm, Don leaped in 2008 at the age of 59 to set up his independent venture, Don Bullard Insurance, in Wilmington, North Carolina. From the ground up, he built the agency into a formidable presence in the community. His firm specialized in offering a wide range of personal lines insurance products, growing to serve over 20,000 households and matching the scale of his previous achievements at State Farm by 2016. Throughout his career, Don collected numerous accolades for production and profitability, illustrating his profound impact on the industry. Before his impactful career in insurance, Don distinguished himself as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army after enlisting post-graduation from New Hanover High School.
