Before the outbreak of war in 1914, Tull’s playing career had seen him make more than 100 senior appearances for Northampton Town, before becoming the first infantry officer of black heritage in the British Army to lead his men into battle. From the football pitch to pitch battle, he made history and was an inspiration to others. To mark the centenary of Walter Tull’s death, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government and Big Ideas in conjunction with the EFL, Football Association and Premier League’s Football Remembers initiative invite schools, football teams and youth, arts and voluntary groups to celebrate his life and achievements through Tull 100 – Football Remembers.

Good evening, I’d like to welcome Tony Mowbray as well as a the supporters, players, owners and staff of Blackburn. We had the clearer chances against Oxford on Saturday, but just weren’t able to take them. It was a very tight game and we were frustrated not to get more out of it, but our energy levels were good and there was a lot we did right. In the second half we came on strong, had we taken one of our chances or scored from one of the two penalties we felt we should have had then the way the game would have opened up would have played to our strengths as a good counterattacking side. But while I am never happy after losing a game of football, it needs to be seen in context. We were unbeaten in six matches before that, and had put in some strong and battling performances – especially in the wins at Blackpool and MK Dons. As a club we feel we have made some real progress over the past couple of seasons. The first-team is always the most important, but I have always taken a longterm approach to management and firmly believe we have the foundations for some real success over the coming years. While changes we have made to the
Academy structure are for the long term, the youth team’s victory at Grimsby Town on Saturday was their seventh straight win. That is a fantastic achievement at any level, and shows the potential we have here at Rovers. In total we have offered contracts to five players who have been with us as scholars for the past two years: Danny Amos, James Morris, Jacob Fletcher, Morgan James and Cody Prior. They will all go into our Development squad for next season, having already featured at that level this term, and if they continue to work hard will get the opportunities to proves themselves. We have four games left, three at home, we are looking to perform well in all of them. Your continued backing of the lads can really help us finish the season on a high. Enjoy the game

Good evening, and welcome back to the Keepmoat Stadium. I’d like to welcome the owners, fans, players and staff who have travelled over from Lancashire. We were given a very warm welcome at Ewood Park back in August, a day which was even more memorable for us because of how the match played out on the pitch. Blackburn were recently named the EFL Family Club of the Year, collecting their trophy last weekend at the same ceremony where Matty Blair picked up his as the League One Community Player of the Year.
three of them at home, we feel we can get some more points on the board. In addition to these three home games for Rovers, the Dons have a huge top-of-thetable clash in Betfred League One on Sunday when Bradford Bulls come to town. The Bulls have the largest budget in the division but sit behind the Dons at the top of the table after six games played. Both have won five and lost one, but the Dons have scored more points so head into the game in possession of the top spot.
That is somewhere we aspire to be as a club. We put a lot of focus on our family offering, with the Club Doncaster Foundation Family Stand a hive of activity on matchdays – it is interesting to see how many similarities there are between what we do and what Blackburn put on, which is really encouraging for us.
It looks set to be a cracking game, especially with all the family entertainment we now put on before games. If you’ve not been down to a Dons match yet, this is a perfect opportunity to see what it is all about - and, given the expected large crowd, it’s definitely worth getting a ticket in advance from the Box Office (01302 763576 / tickets. QUESTIONS & ANSWERS the Sky Bet League One table, and he has one person in particular to thank for her support over the past few weeks. “The goals have coincided with the birth of my little girl, becoming a dad is a lifechanging experience and I’m over the moon every day to be going home to my young family,” he says. “She arrived three weeks early and was born just before the Rotherham game so it was a bit of a surprise, the game didn’t finish how we wanted to that day but I’ve picked up a couple more goals since then. “Hopefully she’s mine and the club’s good luck charm for the rest of the season, I’m always confident going into games but I had a feeling that I was going to score against Rotherham. “It’s a fine balance now for me, I’ve got to do well in my job to support my family so I want to keep performing every day in training. “There is an extra person I need to consider now. “It will be nice to do the lap of honour with her at the end of the season, it was a bit cold for her when she was first born but I’m sure with all the home games she will be coming to a fair few of them.” The No.9 was walking a suspension tight-rope for a few games in February and March as he was just one yellow card away from a two-match-ban, but

managed to see the deadline pass without going into the referee’s book. Marquis says that is a sign of him maturing as a player, although he did not want to take too much of a competitive edge out of his game given the way he goes about his business. “I feel like I have matured a lot in the two years I’ve been here, I always felt like I was above my age in terms of the way I conducted myself and that has only improved under the manager here,” he says. “He gives me the belief and the confidence to be a senior member of the squad because we’re all quite young here but I’ve played quite a few games so I consider myself in the bracket of experienced players. “It didn’t really play on my mind too much over course of the few games, the manager spoke to me and told me not to get into situations which I didn’t need to on the pitch. “I think I showed some maturity to not get booked and I didn’t stop putting myself about and getting challenges in, I didn’t want to be out of the team for any period of time.” Darren Ferguson has spoken a number of times on how he wants his team to finish the season with safety now secured, and Marquis shares his manager’s optimism that Rovers can push for a strong end to the campaign.
The fact that Rovers face a mixed bag of games against teams at the top and bottom of the table in the remaining fixtures means that they can still have a big say on a number of factors in Sky Bet League One.
To continue the interview with the forward we asked him a few short fire questions about more quirky topics.
OR
“We can enjoy the last few games after a good run recently, we know we’ve got games coming up against teams that are in and around us or below us in the table so it’s about continuing to do the right things,” he adds. “I’ve said a few times that I don’t really set too many targets at the start of the season or as the season is going on, but I want to keep performing well and doing a job for the team.
OR
“The gap bzetween games in March helped us, a few players were carrying niggles and they have played a lot of games this season so the manager did a good job of balancing work and rest.
OR
“We’re going to need everyone to finish the season well. “We’ve had so many games in April and we’ve done really well to pick up wins and draws in the games we’ve had already this month. “We’ve got a big squad now full of players who are back fit, it’s a big boost to have some key players returning to injury at this stage of the season to complement the players who have been doing well.”

Alfie May says Rovers will go into all four remaining Sky Bet League One games looking for victories. Rovers suffered a frustrating loss to Oxford on Saturday, but May says they’ll be looking to spoil tonight’s visitors’ chances of promotion. “We treat every game the same and we want three points from every single league game, there is no let up from us, we want to be pushing on to try and get into that top half at the end of the season,” he said. “We don’t take a step back now, we need to keep taking steps forward and we will look to beat Blackburn and Wigan here, they’re massive games against two big teams, we want to stop them from doing what they want to achieve, and we will

put a real fight up. Everyone that we play now is playing for something, Oxford have been fighting for their lives recently, the games ahead won’t be easy, we have games coming up against teams that want to get into the Championship, it won’t be easy, but we’ll be working hard.” James Henry’s second half header was enough for the U’s to take all three points at the Keepmoat Stadium, but May feels Rovers were unfortunate not to take anything away from the game. “It was a tough 90 minutes, the weather didn’t help things but it’s a shame we didn’t come away with three points because we’ve had some great chances and we feel that we’ve been the better team. Their keeper w made some very good saves and kept them in the game to be honest,” he added.

Luke McCullough says the best is yet to come from him as he heads towards the end of his fifth season at Doncaster Rovers. He joined in 2013 from Manchester United, and despite two long-term injuries, the defender turned midfielder recently made his 100th appearance for the club, and he is looking forward to showing fans what they have missed. He said: “I’m yet to show the Rovers fans the best of me, especially since the manager moved me into midfield because I haven’t had a proper run of games. I think if I can stay fit and get on a good run of games then there will be a lot more to come. I’m feeling a lot better every time I
play, obviously I’d like to get more games under my belt, it’s just a shame we’re coming towards the end of it now. I don’t want this season to end but I feel a lot fitter and I’m enjoying being fit again “I just want to finish the season fit, then get a good pre-season in. I haven’t had one for a couple of years now so that’ll be massive of me, but I’m ready to play when called upon, and play as much as I can then go into the summer feeling good.” “The club is a lot different now compared to when I came in five years ago, there’s a lot more structure to it. There’s more people and I think the manager has an identity as to how he wants to play.”

In his fourth professional season with the club, the Spanish keeper has established himself in the No.1 spot at Ewood Park this term.
The Scottish international is currently in his second season at Ewood Park.
Raya joined the youth set-up in Blackburn in 2012, signing from Cornella in Spain, and his good progress in Rovers’ development team saw him earn his first professional contract in 2014. Later that year, Raya moved on-loan to non-league side Southport, and he was a key figure in the side that reached the third round of that season’s FA Cup. He was used sporadically over the next two seasons, before being brought in as first choice goalkeeper as Blackburn look to return to the Championship at the first attempt.

CHARLIE MULGREW
Mulgrew came through the youth ranks at Celtic, being loaned out to Dundee United before making his first move south of the border to Wolves in 2006. He featured six times in the league for Wolves, spending time out on-loan at Southend, featuring in their defeat to Rovers in the League One play-offs. Mulgrew returned to Scotland in 2008, spending two years with Aberdeen, before making a return to Parkhead, enjoying six successful seasons with Celtic – playing a huge role in five consecutive league title wins. He signed for Blackburn in 2016, making a name for himself as a set-piece specialist, and Mulgrew is into double figures for this campaign.
MIDFIELD MAESTRO
DEADLY STRIKER
The talented midfielder joined Rovers in the summer on a three-year deal from Gillingham. Dack started out in the academy at Charlton Athletic, spending five years at The Valley, before dropping into non-league briefly with Corinthian. He crossed Kent to join Gillingham in 2010, earning a professional contract with the Gills two years later. In his first senior season, he helped them to the League Two title, as well as being named their Young Player of the Year at the end of the campaign. He retained that title the season after, as well as earning various other awards including Players’ Player and Fans’ Player of the Year awards in 2014. Another successful season followed, with Dack being named League One Player of the Year in 2016, with Dack’s hard work earning him a move to Ewood Park back in June for a substantial fee.
The well-travelled forward is now looking settled at his 12th club of his career.

Another two years with the Hornets followed, before a move to Premier League Swansea City, scoring 14 goals in his first season in the top tier. He made a move back up north in 2012, this time to Sunderland, although most of that time was again spent away on loan in four different temporary moves, including a successful spell back with Boro in 2014. Moved to Ewood Park in 2016, signing a two-year deal with the club.

MY DAY: JUNIOR TAKEOVER DAY Saturday saw more than 20 young Rovers fans help put on a matchday as
part of the club’s annual Junior Takeover Day- here is how their day went
12.15am Everyone gathers in the Club Doncaster Sports College common room. Dean Sharp, from Club Doncaster Foundation, explained how the day worked before the junior helpers were paired up with their mentors – taking on every role right up to chief executive.
2.50pm Ethan, groundsman for the day, ensures the sprinklers are on for the last time before the match.
12.45pm Lillie is helping out at the West Stand reception, ensuring the players sign shirts as they arrive and that visiting members of the media pick up their press passes.
3pm The match kicks off, but there is still plenty of work to do for many of our junior helpers. Alex is in the media matchday office at the back of the West Stand looking after the big screen while Ellis is helping pick out match photos to go on social media and the website. Rachel, who is on photography duty, joins club photographer Heather to capture the action.
2.55pm The players come out - Lottie reads the teams, while Ellis and Rachel take photos.
1pm Toby, manager for the day, and Jack, the junior first-team player, join Darren Ferguson in his office to talk tactics for the match before going through to meet the players and offer their advice.
3.15pm Jac is helping Donny Dog – so it is time to deliver the box of six Pukka pies won by a member of the crowd.
1.15pm Alyvia is straight into action at the East Stand’s hospitality reception, helping book in supporters to the Legends Club. 1.30pm There is a half-price sale in the club shop, which keeps Methuki busy. Next door, in the Club Doncaster Box Office, Samantha ensures fans get tickets for the game. 1.45pm The media team is buoyed by two extra hands. Ellis and Alex head down the tunnel to get the teamsheets - they get an extra treat as they join both captains,

This is an outstanding achievement for this young group of players. Throughout any long successful run players, individually and collectively, have to display a wide variety of skills and qualities to maintain that form.
Praise and credit should also certainly go to the dedicated and committed youth team staff we have. Led by Paul Stancliffe, they ensure the players have all the support they need to continue their development. It is this expertise and support that has supported the progress of the five players who have received professional contracts and for those younger players that aspire to reach this level and beyond. Good luck to the gaffer, the staff and the players.

TEN YEARS AGO: DONCASTER ROVERS IN SEASON 2007-08. Part 22 Rovers’ shattering defeat at Cheltenham meant they faced the League One playoffs, with a two-legged semi-final and, if successful, a final at the rebuilt Wembley, a venue the club had not competed at before.
minutes he picked up a ball on the right, slalomed past the Southend defence and struck a low, right-footed shot past Flahavan. Rovers led 3-0 at half time and seven minutes into the second half, Coppinger all but sealed victory with the goal of the night.
Southend United’s unexpected home draw with Port Vale on the final day meant they finished sixth and would play third-placed Rovers. Leeds United, who had leapfrogged Southend with a win over Gillingham, would play Carlisle United.
He received the ball on the right of midfield and drove inside, his angled run taking out three defenders before he hit a left-footed drive from 20 yards into a corner of the net.
Rovers’ fixtures would be at Roots Hall on Friday May 9 2008 with the second leg at the Keepmoat a week later. Manager Sean O’Driscoll made changes for the first leg, with J. J. Price and Paul Heffernan replacing Gareth Taylor and Mark McCammon up front. Richie Wellens was out with a groin injury, so Lewis Guy played with James Coppinger in a deeper role. The game was a cagey affair with few chances. Matt Mills did well to block a shot from Walker and Neil Sullivan made a good save to thwart Francis. The main talking point came after 87 minutes when Heffernan needlessly aimed a headbutt at Mulgrew and was correctly sent off. He would miss the remainder of the play-offs as a result. A week later the teams reconvened at the Keepmoat. Wellens had recovered and replaced Guy while James Hayter was the choice to replace the suspended Heffernan. An expectant crowd of 13,081

had turned up for a game whose winner would meet Leeds United, conquerors of Carlisle, in the Wembley final. The first chance fell to Southend, for whom Walker struck a shot against Sullivan’s crossbar. Possibly this had the effect of rousing Rovers, because they took the lead after 11 minutes. Clarke pulled back Price in the penalty area and from the resultant spot kick Brian Stock put Rovers ahead. Coppinger, playing in an advanced role was causing havoc
on the left of the Southend defence but he was not directly involved in Rovers’ second after21 minutes. Hayter sent over a cross, Paul Green flicked it goalwards and under pressure from Price Adam Barrett headed into his own net to make it 2-0 to Rovers. From this point on the evening belonged to one man: James Coppinger produced perhaps the finest individual performance seen at the Keepmoat Stadium to ensure Rovers reached Wembley. After 39
To their credit, Southend refused to give in but with Mills and Sam Hird outstanding in defence they had few chances to redress the balance. On 80 minutes Coppinger was fouled by Bailey on the edge of the Southend box. From the free-kick he played a quick one-two with Green and then curled a powerful shot around the wall and into the top corner. With two minutes left Bailey scored for Southend but it was a mere consolation. 5-1 to Rovers, who were Wembley-bound. The visitors had contributed to a great game and occasion and their manager, Steve Tilson, was generous in his praise of Rovers. “They showed why they are the best footballing side in this division,” he said after the game. The visit to Wembley, scheduled for Sunday May 25, would offer Rovers a chance to prove this on the biggest stage. John Coyle

Good evening and welcome to the third game in what has been an extremely hectic eight days at the Keepmoat Stadium. The fixture last Tuesday certainly took some getting over – pulsating 3-3 draws don’t come around very often and it really was something to behold. As good as we were going forward we struggled a little at the back against a Bury outfit that countered well when they had the opportunity. That was followed up by Saturday against Oxford. We were obviously frustrated by the scoreline, but there were positives to take into tonight.

NEWS
Danny Andrew has thanked everyone involved with the club for the support they gave him during his long road to recovery. The left-back returned from a knee injury to play his first 45 minutes since August for Rovers Development side last week, and says he has been helped a lot by the staff at the club in the past eight months. He said: “When I suffered the injury I didn’t expect to play again this season, I thought I might get a bit of training in, but full credit must go to the medical staff for the work they’ve done to get me back. “It’s been a long road, playing 45 minutes was the next stage of my rehabilitation so it’s good to come through it. The pitch was quite bobbly so it’s tested my knee when I was twisting and turning. Nothing much has been said just yet about playing for the first-team and I think that is probably

to keep my feet on the ground, Ithough ’ve seen a couple of things on social media with the gaffer saying he would try and get me minutes.” Andrew says that although the injury left him feeling down initially, it has improved him as a person after spending plenty of time with his young family during his time out of the side. He added: “It’s been good in the sense that not going on the away trips has allowed me to spend some time with the family at weekends and appreciate the time I’ve had with them, but it was still frustrating watching Soccer Saturday and not being involved with the lads.

ROVERS ALLIANCE
Rovers Alliance member Ian Lord won a visit to watch the first-team train at Cantley Park in the latest Rovers Alliance experience draw. In his stead were his grandson Ethan Charlesworth and his mum Rachel who went down to Cantley Park to watch the team train and join them for lunch. Upon arrival they met players and management before watching training, while Ethan picked up some training tips for his grassroots team, Bawtry Juniors. Staff members were on hand to discuss the methods and results behind the training. Following training Ethan chatted with the players and management, getting photos with the players and also their autographs. Ethan and his mum then joined the team for lunch.

The latest from the
Communications team SOCIAL MEDIA HIGHLIGHTS Last week I attended a meeting with other EFL clubs’ media teams, where the league discusses their digital strategy for next season and the coming years. The iFollow service was a significant talking point, as it has become the cornerstone of the EFL’s digital policy. In a world where media advertising revenues are falling, companies are having to be innovative and ensuring the matchday iFollow Rovers services continues to deliver what fans want on a Saturday or Tuesday will be of top importance for us. There will be some improvements for subscribers both in the UK and overseas, with fans based on these shores able to watch matches live through the service for the first time. This was trialled in the Checkatrade Trophy knockout stages, and ITN will work with the EFL to provide enchanced production on the video which will be available outside the UK and Ireland for
all games not selected for TV, and within the UK for matches not on TV and not at the Saturday 3pm kick-off (Fifa rules prevent broadcast of matches at this time). For those in the UK, the live stream of the match will be on a pay per view basis. The standard of the graphics won’t be able to match Sky Sports, but there will be a scoreboard and likely some graphics around substitutions and team line-ups – all new additions. We also expect to be able to overlay our audio commentary over the live match – which, along with some graphics, are the most common requests we have received as a club. We are looking at everything we do from a media viewpoint next season. We always welcome feedback to ensure we’re doing what fans want - send suggestions to media@clubdoncaster.co.uk. Nine-year-old Rovers fan Kai Fawcett was taken in a tragic accident on a beach in Spain earlier this month. Kai loved football and his family are all from Doncaster, who say he will be missed deeply.

SUPPORTERS Official Supporters Club A good afternoon, and a big Keepmoat welcome to the “Lancashire Rovers” fans management and players for tonight’s Sky Bet League One encounter, I hope they have had a safe trip over the Pennines tonight and have a safe trip home.
Road you can also use this service at just £1 return. It runs direct to the Keepmoat Stadium and back and there no need to book, just turn up. Please let us know if would like picking up on Bawtry Road - call 07961727769 for more information.
DRFCFans4Foodbanks Rovers supporters have now donated more than 500kg of food to a fans-led foodbank collection after a record haul at the Charlton game. Organisers set an ambitious target of collecting 100kg prior to the visit of Charlton Athletic, meaning the overall raised would hit 500kg and match the landmark 500th EFL appearance of Rovers captain James Coppinger on the same day.
Blackburn, as expected, have been up the top of the league trying to get promotion back to the Championship, and should bring a great following, it’s just a shame the original game was called off for international duties, Our victory over at Ewood Park was one of the highlights of the season.
Our North branch also run coaches to most away games from Carcroft, Adwick, and points along the A19.
Well we now have a run of home games, with three of our final four matches here. We had a fantastic victory at Milton Keynes, with John Marquis scoring a brace in the second half in front of a fantastic following of more than 700 fans, who roared the lads onto victory.
We also run coaches for certain games from the Sprotborough area, and the travel club have pick ups in the Hatfield area.
That included a significant donation from Club Doncaster staff after a collection from staff based at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Please remember there is no alchohol allowed on the coaches.
The last away game of the season is at Oldham on April 28. Bus times are in the programme, we also have the supporters weekender in Southport for that game, that will leave Adwick (Wilfredas) at 8am, Infirmary 8.30am and the Keepmoat Stadium at 9am, returning from Southport on the Sunday at 2.30pm, taking in Saturday’s game at Boundary Park.
The Branch Dinner dance this season will be Friday May 11 at the Mount Pleasant Hotel.
The DRFCFans4Foodbanks initiative launched just before Christmas with a foodbank collection point outside the Belle Vue Bar at every home game with volunteers there to accept donations.
If you live in the Retford, Harworth, Rossington area, why not use the Supporters Club home bus, which runs to every home match at a very competitive price. If you live on Bawtry

The two squads of 20 will pull on Rovers shirts and listen to the commands of former players Jan Budtz and Tim Ryan as they do battle for 90 minutes.
Over the coming weeks, the squads face training sessions with their respective managers to prepare for the game, and meet them for the first time since finding out which squad they were in.
Each one of them will represent Club Doncaster Foundation’s Fit Rovers programme, the free eight-week health improvement course they have progressed through. Fit Rovers is designed to engage males aged 30+, who are at risk of health conditions such as diabetes and heart disease. So far, 177 men have progressed through the course, losing a combined 78 stone. At the end of the eight weeks, the men have the choice to maintain their lifestyle change, with follow on Fit Rovers Vets

Former Club Doncaster Sports College student Jarvis Parkinson success at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, as the 19-year-old claimed two silver medals.
“On behalf of the whole of Club Doncaster Sports College, we would like to send our sincere congratulations to him on these great achievements.
Jarvis put a hold on his time at the Keepmoat Stadium to pursue his swimming dream, and has gone on to impress representing his country.
“It seems we have had an array of students who go on to pursue swimming, including Sophie Coy and Georgia Wright, who both are currently studying in America alongside building their career. It really is fantastic that we have such a variety of sporting talent among our students.”
He was part of Team England’s 4x100m and 4x200m relay teams and says this is just the start of his journey. Principal of the Sports College, Adi Turnpenny commented: “Jarvis spent a short time studying at the college and we have been following his progress since.

CLUB DONCASTER The Dons went close to causing an upset but were beaten 26-16 by Betfred Championship side Featherstone Rovers in the fifth round of the Challenge Cup. Richard Horne made four changes to his line-up, as Jack Sanderson, Sam Doherty, Liam Welham and Jordan Howden came into the starting XIII. Featherstone started the stronger of the two sides and went in front after just three minutes, in-form winger Luke Briscoe collected an offload from Misi Taulapapa to go over in a corner. Rovers and Briscoe were over again six minutes later, this time it was all his own work as he spun out of a tackle and weaved his way to the try-line. Martyn Ridyard converted for 0-10. The Dons came back into the game after a quarter of an hour and had their first try when Aaron Jones-Bishop picked up a loose ball and raced 40 metres to squeeze over in a corner. That sparked the home side into life and they drew level in a breathless opening quarter at the Keepmoat Stadium, Kieran Cross timed his pass to perfection to find the run of Brad England who finished smartly. Miller converted for 10-10. Richard Horne’s men went in front for the first time after 27 minutes, a kick to the corner from Howden was patted back superbly by Jones-Bishop which gave Jason Tali the simple task of putting the ball down.

DONCASTER ROVERS BELLES The Dons were temporarily down to 12 men early in the second-half, as Jordan Howden was sin-binned. That did not stop them from extending their lead, though, as Miller kicked over a penalty goal after Sanderson was tackled high by the Featherstone defence to make it 16-10. Featherstone then began to take control and had their third try when Tom Holmes produced some individual brilliance to skip past a number of Dons defenders to score. Ridyard levelled the scores at 16-16 with the conversion. John Duffy’s side went in front just three minutes later, Ridyard was again influential as he fired a cut out pass to Shaun Robinson on the left, and the winger had enough room to dive over.
Doncaster Rovers Belles boss Neil Redfearn was delighted to see his side continue their winning ways at the top of the FA WSL 2 table despite a tricky second half against Durham. The Belles were 3-0 up at half-time, but for second time this season Durham have gave the Belles something of a test after clawing back a goal through Zoe Ness’ header.
can, they got it forward and made it difficult for us. “But I thought in the first half we were streets ahead of them and three maybe flattered them a little bit – it could have been four or five. It was good professionalism to see the game through, which is so important to do.”
But Redfearn believes the Belles’ sheer dominance in first half meant the victory was richly deserved.
Two of the three goals came from Kirsty Hanson, with Sophie BradleyAuckland scoring her first goal for the Belles in between the winger’s two first-half strikes.
He said: “The most important thing is the three points at this point of the season. This could have been a potential banana skin for us. They’re a decent side, Durham, and I thought they played well in the second half – they played how they
Redfearn added: “Kirsty’s finishing was top drawer and we’re pleased with her all-round game. We know that if we can get Kirsty on the ball in space then she’ll go past people, and she’s proved that again in this game.”
The Dons almost had a reply when Jason Muranka made a break through the Featherstone line, but he could not quite reach for the line before good defence from the visitors stopped Jones-Bishop from dummy-half. Rovers sealed the win with another try inside the last 10 minutes of the game, this time Connor Farrell was the man to find Robinson in space, and he went in for his second and Featherstone’s fifth. The Dons are back in action tomorrow as they host Bradford Bulls in a topof-the-table Betfred League One game. Tickets can be purchased now at tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk.
