Darren Ferguson Good afternoon and welcome back to the Keepmoat Stadium. I'd like to extend a warm welcome to Darren Way and Yeovil's staff, directors and players and wish them a safe journey back to Somerset after the match. Yeovil showed their quality by knocking Walsall out of the EFL Cup in the last round to set up Tuesday night's trip to Everton, so we know we are in for a tough game.
John Marquis got us the winner again. He has had a great attitude since joining us this summer and I am delighted he is being rewarded with goals - you can see how much it means to him in his celebrations. We caused them all sorts of problems and could probably have won by more - no mean feat against a side who were unbeaten in their past 17 games at home and will cause teams some real problems. Our support at Cheltenham, with 367 of you in the away end, was fantastic. Your backing can make a real difference this season. Enjoy the game.
There is still plenty of hard work to be done but, given we have had so many first-team players out with injuries, I am pleased to be where we are. I also have to give some credit

We feel we have some real momentum building after recording back-to-back wins against Cambridge and Cheltenham. The 1-0 success over Cambridge on the Tuesday before last was our most complete performance of the season, and we dug in deep in some tough conditions at Cheltenham to win by the same scoreline.
to the owners for their support over the summer, which has meant we have been able to cope with our run of bad luck on that front.

Gavin Baldwin I'd like to extend a warm welcome to Yeovil's directors, staff and players after a long journey up from Somerset. We pride ourselves on offering a warm welcome and hope you enjoy your day - apart from the result of course - and have a safe journey home afterwards.
We have had horrendous luck with injuries, with the number of players out far exceeding any other club in Sky Bet League Two. But this was the reason we invested in quality additions to the squad over the summer, with the manager, backroom staff and players all working hard to ensure the injuries have not derailed us. The Keepmoat Stadium has been a hive of activity over the summer, with events going on pretty much every day - if you drive down
In fact, the Club Doncaster Foundation can be really proud of their achievement in delivering their most successful National Citizen Service (NCS) programme to date. You may have seen some of their fundraising for the Forget Me Not children's hospice - you may even have had your face painted across the road in the Lakeside shopping village, or bought one of their cakes - which raised more than £650 for a worthwhile cause. The NCS is open to young people aged 15-17, and we had 485 come through the scheme this summer. I hope they gained some real confidence and belief from their experiences with us, and realise what they can go on to achieve in life. Thank you for your support, I hope you enjoy the game. Gavin

It is really pleasing to be able to write these notes with Rovers sat in the play-off places after back-to-back wins. I was particularly impressed with the way the players coped with the conditions at the LCI Rail Stadium last Saturday - the driving rain, particularly in the first half, cannot have been easy to play in yet they coped admirably.
on an evening it can be pretty hard to find a place to park! While it may mean I have to walk a little further from my car to my office, it is great to see.

Midfielder Emily Simpkins has praised the work of new manager Emma Coates. Coates has taken over the managerial reins during Doncaster's return to top-flight football as the Belles look to keep improving in FA WSL 1 following promotion. And there have been positive signs on and off the pitch from the new Belles chief something 'Simmo' was keen to highlight.

“I can’t speak highly enough of her and what she’s done," said the former Birmingham City ace on manager Coates.

summer, was full of praise for the style of play Coates has adopted since becoming manager. She said: “A lot of people have been noticing that we’ve been playing the ball out from the back. I’ve heard a lot of people in the game say 'You know Donny Belles, they do play good football’, and we’re gaining respect for that. “If we continue to do that, we are sure the results will soon follow.” ‘Simmo’ also echoed the sentiments of other Belles players that the mood in the camp remained positive despite recent results. “Togetherness will pull the team through this spell. We believe we have the abilities and the spirit in the team and the self-belief to go forward. Together we’ll start getting the results," she added.

Liam MANDEVILLE FROM CAMEOS TO CENTRE STAGE High jinks and joshing are commonplace at a photoshoot: particularly when your peers are watching you. But it’s when spotlights turn to floodlights that Rovers youngster Liam Mandeville feels most at home. “It’s a bit of fun, it’s a bit long but it can be funny,” says Mandeville having swapped from his kit and in to his ‘civvies’.
12 Box Office: 01302 762576
“It shows the professionalism of the club, we’re not a fourth tier club – we know that – and if we want to be higher, we have to act like a higher club. “It runs through the whole club, the gaffer has high standards; he knows we shouldn’t be in this league so it starts from the top and all the senior players too.” Mandeville’s grown; he’s physically and mentally more mature. The last time we spoke to the 19-year old for a programme feature, he went on to register his first senior goal. A lucky omen?
The goal was incredible, you can’t beat the feeling of scoring in particular a first team game, it’s unbelievable. “I can’t remember the interview – all my interviews are terrible – but the goal was incredible, you can’t beat the feeling of scoring in particular a first team game, it’s unbelievable. “It gave me the confidence that I can play at this level so hopefully – I think I’ve started the season off quite well – I can get a few more appearances. It’s been good, I came back in pretty good shape, had a good pre season and I’m just growing in confidence all the time.
His astute assessment of his recent bundled goal against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup Round 1 points to someone far more dedicated and now equally concerned with hitting the back of the net, rather than the back page.
“I’m definitely more confident and things seem to be going well for me at the moment. Hopefully we can keep the wins going and get back up. “Any way to help the team, I understand I’m a young lad but I want to start. If the gaffer thinks I can do well off the bench then I’m not going to turn down an appearance. All in all, I’m happy.” “I’ve probably prepared better in the summer for this season. I take better care of myself, I’m much more professional that I was last season; it’s all a learning curve. “Players like Harry (Middleton) and Mitchell (Lund) have worked themselves up and the professionals do it right and you can see on the pitch how they conduct themselves.”
13 Box Office: 01302 762576
“I feel like I belong at this level and that probably didn’t come until around the time of scoring my first goal. I was training with the first team as a second year YT – I was on the bench a few times – and first year professional is difficult in trying to adjust; I don’t think I did as well as I could have done. I’ve built on that and come back much stronger.”
“They all count!” he grins.

The 27-year-old Pole moved to England in 2006 and spent four years crafting his trade at Birmingham City with various loan spells - mainly Burton Albion in 2009 – but departed St. Andrew’s in 2010 without making a senior appearance for Blues. Krysiak first headed to the south-west and Exeter City on a permanent basis and made close to 150 appearances for the Grecians. Since arriving at Huish Park in the summer of 2014, the reliable stopper has made more than 60 appearances and kept successive clean sheets at the start of this season.

Proud Welshman Lawless signed for the Glovers in the summer to add steel and versatility to the midfield. Despite spells at Fulham and Torquay United, it wasn’t until he was 21 years of age that regular football was forthcoming, at Forest Green Rovers where he was a constant in the side at the New Lawn. After a two season stint with York City, he moved on again to another National League team in Luton Town where he eventually made the step up to League football after helping the Hatters to promotion in 2014. His six year stay at Kenilworth Road - where he scored 22 goals in more than 200 appearances – came to an end during the close season.

Darren Way played more than 250 games in all competitions for the Glovers and chipped in with a handy 34 goals while in his playing days at Huish Park. Originally a trainee with Norwich City, the Plymouth born midfielder moved to Yeovil Town in 2000 and has been associated with the club ever since. An injury ravaged two and half years with Swansea City a) is best forgotten and b) pales in to insignificance when compared with a road accident in 2008. Called upon 7 years after that day to keep Town in the Football League, he did so and, courtesy of a 19th placed finish was awarded a three year contract
05 | BEVIS MUGABI
DEFENSIVE ROCK Used as a right-back when Southampton won the 2015 U21 Premier League Cup, 21-year-old Mugabi is finally getting his chance to prove his worth in the Football League having signed a one year deal on the same day as teammates Matt Butcher and Tahvon Campbell arrived on loan. A commanding presence across the back line, Mugabi has previously received call ups to England youth squads but can also play for Uganda through ancestry.

The 24-year-old Scouser played under two former Rovers managers at Oldham Athletic in Dave Penney and Paul Dickov but, after impressing against Bolton in a pre season game as an 18 year old, would sign for the then Premier League Trotters in 2010. His time at the Macron Stadium was one of very few first team opportunities and loan spells were the only way of gaining valuable first team experience. He flourished with goals aplenty in spells with Bristol Rovers and Shrewsbury Town. He has signed a one year deal with Yeovil following his release from Bolton and scored a late leveller in a recent away game at Luton to open his account.

Adam Lockwood Supporters from both today’s teams will wish the flame haired former centre back every success in temporary charge of Guiseley, currently rooted to the bottom of the National League. That’s the league in which the Lockwood story truly begins; signed on a free transfer from Reading by the Glovers in 2001 after a loan spell. The Wakefield born defender spent five years at Huish Park and scored eight goals in 159 games in Somerset – taking with him the FA Trophy, a Conference and League Two title. His move back to his native north was also profitable on both personal and team levels with Rovers. A signing of Dave Penney’s, Lockwood often sported the skipper’s armband and, having split the 2007 player of the year award with Graeme Lee, lofted the League 1 play-off final trophy alongside Brian Stock at Wembley. In all he scored eight goals in 179 games before leaving in 2012 after a six-year stay.

LEGEND Where are they now?
17 Box Office: 01302 762576
The man who ended Rovers’ 50 year wait to return to the second tier with his diving header at Wembley against Leeds United is still going strong as a player; albeit in the Ryman Premier League with Havant & Waterlooville. Hayter arrived at the Keepmoat Stadium in the summer of 2007 and won promotion with the club in his very first season. Standing at 5’9”, the now 37 year old was arguably the best ‘header of a ball’ that the club have ever had – particularly for a man of his stature. His selfless work ethic often accounted for his less than prolific ratio of one goal to every four games. He later transferred to today’s opponents, Yeovil Town.

How The Football Family Is Uniting Against Prostrate Cancer Prostate Cancer UK thank Doncaster Rovers and their supporters for helping stop prostate cancer being a killer. Since Prostate Cancer UK’s Official Charity Partnership with the EFL was announced back in 2012 the charity has raised over £2m to help stop prostate cancer being a killer, and raised the profile of a disease often ignored.
How Clubs And Fans Are Helping Fund A New Era Of Research The money raised via the EFL partnership is funding innovative research projects to make a step-change in the scientific knowledge of prostate cancer.
Scientists are working on a simple genetic test for aggressive prostate cancer to help assess which men will respond best to a certain treatment. This project will make significant steps towards tailoring prostate cancer treatments towards the individual man and his cancer. It will help work out the best treatment for each man to have – or to avoid – and the right time to have it. The money raised focuses on three key areas Prostate Cancer UK believes can make the biggest difference: prostate cancer diagnosis, treatment and prevention. Our Men United March started in Hartlepool and finished in Wembley, but the charity’s march on prostate cancer has only just begun. To find out more about Prostate Cancer UK and their work in football visit prostatecanceruk.org/football
45 Box Office: 01302 762576
Clubs and fans from across the EFL have walked, run, cycled, collected at match days and donated in the fight against prostate cancer. Over four years nearly 800 fans have put on the pitch rivalries aside cycling to Amsterdam with former England internationals Terry Butcher, Viv Anderson and Luther Blissett – who has joined the ride every year. And back in March 2016, it was difficult to ignore Sky Sports presenter Jeff Stelling marching 262 miles to Wembley from his beloved Hartlepool United to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.
Prostate Cancer UK’s aim is to make sure men with aggressive prostate cancer are diagnosed early, before it spreads outside the prostate, so that fewer slip through the net with advanced disease.

THE RECORD BREAKERS: DONCASTER ROVERS 70 YEARS AGO. Part 3 - By John Coyle
50
The 1946-47 season was only a week old, but Doncaster Rovers already enjoyed an impressive record of three wins from three games. Two of these had been away, and Rovers were on the road again on Monday 9th September 1946 to face Stockport County at Edgeley Park. Skipper Paul Todd had returned in place of Leslie Owens at New Brighton, so Rovers fielded an unchanged XI.
Box Office: 01302 762576
A crowd of 12,830 watched the game and the majority of them were up in arms when Rovers took an early lead in controversial circumstances. A through pass found Bert Tindill in an offside position but he let the ball run back to County goalkeeper Bowley. The referee
allowed play to continue, but Bowley seemed to believe a free kick had been given and placed the ball on the ground. Clarrie Jordan, ever the opportunist, nipped in and rolled it back past the startled goalkeeper. Despite Clarrie Jordan protests the goal stood, and the crowd’s displeasure grew when grabbed one back in the second half, but the defence held firm and Ralph Maddison’s late strike secured a 3-1 victory. Rovers were back at Belle Vue the following Saturday, and news of their away success had pulled in the crowds, 13,765 turning up for the visit of Halifax Town. Town were second bottom of the table after a disappointing start, and unchanged Rovers were assisted further when Halifax’s full-back Green had to leave the field due to injury. No substitutes were allowed in these days, and Town had to continue with ten men.
THE RECORD BREAKERS: DONCASTER ROVERS 70 YEARS AGO. Part 3 - By John Coyle Despite this, Rovers were rather laboured although goals by Jackie Thompson and Tindill gave them a 2-0 victory. It was victory at a price, though because Bert Tindill Thompson,Todd and half-back Cecil Stirland had all picked up knocks making them doubtful for Monday’s return game with Stockport.
Firstly he dropped a centre from McCullough allowing Shaw to sweep the ball home. Then he misjudged another long range effort from Brown which completed a 3-1 victory for Stockport. So Rovers had lost for the first time in 1946-47, although they retained their position at the top of Division Three (North). Perhaps of greater concern for manager Jackie Bestall was that four of his players were injured. The man responsible for the players’ fitness was Bob McLean, a former player who had served the club in this capacity since 1932. McLean, a Glaswegian, had been a member of the Rovers team that returned to the Football League in 1923. He was faced with a busy time as Rovers prepared for a trip to Carlisle on Saturday 21st September 1946.

In the event, none of the ‘walking wounded was able to turn out on the Monday. Cecil Heydon replaced Stirland, while Owens and Frank Mitcheson filled the inside forward berths. Heydon Leslie Owens and Mitcheson had both arrived during the war, initially as guest players, before signing for Rovers. Heydon, a Merseysider, had pre-war experience with New Brighton and Derby County. There was little hint of what was to come in the early stages, as Jordan hit the bar in the first minute and then Owens put the home side Cecil Heydon in front two minutes later. That was to be the inside-forward’s last meaningful contribution as he was injured soon afterwards and although he remained on the field,
his contribution was limited to nuisance value. Stockport were soon level via a fierce shot from Brown, but the game turned on two errors by Rovers’ normally reliable goalkeeper, Archie Ferguson.
