RICHIE WELLENS "I BELIEVE WE’RE LUCKY ENOUGH TO PLAY ON THE BEST PITCH IN THE DIVISION, SO WE NEED TO USE THAT TO OUR ADVANTAGE" Good afternoon everyone, I’d like to begin by welcoming the players, staff, directors, and supporters from Morecambe to the Keepmoat Stadium. Morecambe have impressed at the start of this season after winning promotion through the play-offs and going through a transitional summer with a new manager and plenty of new players. They have a real identity about the way they’re going about things, and they will provide a tough challenge for us this afternoon. This is just our third home league match this season. I believe we’re lucky enough to play on the best pitch in the division, so we need to use that to our advantage: play our best football and make this place a fortress. You can play your part in that too. Thousands of voices cheering for the players will give them the extra 10% they need to get a result in this game and all future games. Finally, I’d like to welcome our Academy to today’s game. It’s brilliant to see the club’s future players joining us today and I’m sure you’ll give them a big welcome at half time. I’d like to offer a specific welcome to the U9s and U10s who have completed their official signing on today and have taken their first steps to representing this club at senior level.
