He extends to Daniel Doherty and John McEleney (both notable members of the Donegal Association of Boston) his "deep expressions of friendship and respect". McCormack regrets that due to Washington business he cannot attend the banquet honouring Doherty and McEleney, adding that by honouring these two men, those who attend the banquet "honour themselves."
