"Be good to your skin. You’ll wear it every day for the rest of your life." Renée Rouleau.
You are what you eat the foundation for a clearer complexion is a healthy diet Aim to eat a rainbow of colorful fruits and vegetables at least five portions a day. Drinking green juice in the morning is a quick and delicious alternative way of getting the desired antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients that keep your skin youthful by promoting regeneration. Spice up your food by adding fresh herbs helps poor digestion or sluggish detoxification.
Cutting out processed foods, limiting your sugar intake and replacing with healthy foods and drinking lots of water is key to a clear complexion and healthy skin. However, most of us have guilty pleasures and comfort foods that we are not willing to part with forever. Also, children and a busy life make eating right all the time an even bigger challenge. I experiment this living and eating in New Orleans on a daily basis. This food capital is loaded with temptations. Our diet is generously sprinkled with rice, bread pudding, gumbo, and alcohol, however, the key is moderation and balance.
Incorporate oils rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fats. These are essential fatty acids that cannot be made in the body and must be obtained through our diet. You will find omega3's in olive oil, flaxseed oil, linseeds, walnut and grapeseed oil. Omega-3 fats encourage the body to produce antiinflammatory compounds, which can help skin, particularly inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.

Your have hit the skin jackpot. You have healthy skin with normal serum production and your skin's pH level is normal. What should you use? Apply products that are filled with powerful natural ingredients , keep the pores clean, and follow with a facial serum rich in Omega 3.6 and 9 fatty acids. A facial serum will give the skin a nice boost of vitamins. A facial serum that contains hempseed is a always a good choice.

The ritual of daily skincare We have learned that a good diet is the foundation of great skin. Now we are going to learn how to promote, feed and train our skin to produce clearer and softer skin with a glowing complexion. We began this process by purging your skincare ritual o f skin irritants, endocrine disrupters and carcinogenic materials that are so prevalent in the over the counter beauty products. Using organic botanicals, plant based oils that are vitamin-rich and derived from flowers, herbs, nuts, seeds, roots and berries, promotes healing and nourishes the skin on a cellular level. Seed oils that are rich in omegas 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids work to improve the texture and quality of the skin. The addition of organic essential oils not only provide amazing aromatherapy to most botanical based products, they also have therapeutic healing abilities for the skin. Let's discover how we can use the gifts of Mother Nature in our skincare ritual to give us flawless skin.
RITUAL Step 1
CLEANSE
Washing your face twice a day is crucial. We touch our face over 2,0003,000 times a day, that is a lot of bacteria, so we need to cleanse to start from a clean slate. Cleanse your face with an organic facial oil (organic oils are non-gmo they have not been genetically modified), natural soap, or an organic and natural cleanser preferably with manuka honey
Step 2
HYDRATE/TONE
After cleansing, it is important to balance the skin's pH levels and stop it from overproducing oils otherwise the skin can become dry and dehydrated. Using a toner with aloe vera, hydrosol or rosewater is very beneficial because they contain small molecules of the plant they were distilled from so they are anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and work well with sensitive skin. Please avoid toners with alcohol that dries out the skin.
Step 3
MOISTURIZE
To seal or LOC in all that hydration and beneficial plant water, use an oil rich moisturizer. It is so important to lock in the hydration so that your skin will be able to fight infections and promote a complexion that will look dewy and gorgeous all day long . Use an oil based moisturizer free of any parabens, fillers and synthetic fragrances. Moisturizing your skin with vitamin rich oils that are loaded with omega 3,6 and 9 fatty acids and organic essential oils is key to maintaining healthy skin .
Step 4
DETOX
Pollutants and dirt from the environment can clog your pores, Toxins from your diet can cause your complexion to suffer, because of this, you should detox your skin at least 2-3 times per week. You can detox several ways; a clay mask, salt scrub, and herbal steam bath. These forms of detoxification will help with unclogging pores, removing dead skin and reducing inflammation. For extremely sensitive skin, I recommend using a herbal facial steam bath ONLY to detox.
