Most of us Filipinos can’t resist the delicious taste of the Lechon Baboy. It’s the centerpiece of the Filipino celebrations. Falling in love with this dish is very easy. I still remember the time when it’s my 7th birthday. In front of me lays the two lechon baboy in the lechon tray. Lechon baboy is still covered with a manila paper but the delicious smell of it really surrounds the whole room of the venue. The most delicious part of the lechon is the skin. As we open and get the manila paper that covers, its reddish brown color skin made you crave and get some. As I stitch the skin with a knife it gives a delicious crunch and the crispiness sound every bite that made me add more. After the part of the skin is where the meat of the lechon is. You can taste the natural juiciness of the lechon in the meat. The meat taste a little salty. The spices or herbs gives a delicious smell and make the aroma of the lechon meat irresistible. Truly, lechon baboy is irresistible that it will make you crave for more.

Healthy Eating BY DOROTEO ICONG Food is important for life. To be healthy and active, we should certainly have enough food. But the foods we eat should also be safe and rich in all the nutrients our body needs. We should choose from a wide variety of foods and we should eat them regularly, throughout the day, every day of the year. Do not forget that we should also enjoy the food that we eat; it should look, smell and taste good. Without good nutrition, children and young people cannot develop their potential to the full, and adults will have difficulty in doing their best. One way to conceptualize food is by reference to its intended use, to look at the ends to which food is put. This is an explicitly teleological approach, by which a thing, in this case food, is made sensible by reference to the goal and outcome that a user has for the given thing. Nutrition labeling began with the goal of providing accurate, but basic, information. Now it helps people manage their weight and maintain optimal health by offering nutritional details to guide their food choices. The body needs a variety of the following 5 nutrients - protein, carbohydrate, fat, vitamins and minerals - from the food we eat to stay healthy and productive.
The Difference between Natural and Organic Foods: A guide to a healthy lifestyle
A number of people don’t know the difference between Natural and Organic foods that are being sold in markets. This leads to a lot of misconception of different products which are labeled Natural or Organic that are shown in Stores or in advertisements.
There is a huge difference between products which are labeled Natural or Organic. For a product to be called Organic it has a strict supervision and legal regulation of the Department of Agriculture of a certain country. In order to ensure that no chemicals, pesticides or synthetic fertilizers are used to grow the food. If a product is labeled Organic you can rest assure that it has been well maintained and is up to the standards set by the Department of Agriculture for it to be Labeled Organic. While foods which are labeled as natural is the opposite of the factors that are present in Organic foods. Foods which are labeled Natural have no legal supervision at all. It is not defined by any criteria or law unlike Organic foods. It also contains less preservatives and chemical additives compared to other kinds of processed foods.
When it comes to health benefits lots of people prefer Organic food because they feel safer and healthier than non-organic foods. But Natural food isn’t bad as well for there are people who prefer it also because they believe if there is an excessive processing present in the food it disturbs the implicit health benefits it can give to you as the consumer. When it comes to prices Organic food is priced higher than non-organic food and Natural food is priced higher than processed food.
In conclusion it is always up to the person which he/she prefers to buy Organic or Natural or other products. But keep in mind you must always know what you’re eating and its impact on your own body.
TO EAT OR NOT TO EAT: JUNK FOODS EDITION BY DONNA ANGELICA M. DAACA In the 21st century, we tend to eat more than we defecate. In other words, we gain more than we lose. Losing in this context is very important. The large intake of food is caused by a lot of factors. These factors are stress, hunger, greed, or it sometimes could be caused by the binge eating disorder. A big content of food intake is unhealthy. But that is not the only thing that causes someone's health to be risked. It is not just how much you eat that matters, but what you eat. Junk foods, among all the unhealthy foods, is probably one of the most popular of them all. While people might enjoy eating these they do not realize that every piece of their favorite Potato Chips that they bite into might be the very reason that they are slowly losing more time to live. Now this might sound harsh and a tad bit exaggerated, but this pretty much the truth
Corn, junk food can cause weight gain , chronic diseases, type 2 diabetes, and nutritional deficiences,. Weight gain, being the most obvious, is also the most common effect as well. A lot of you might react violently saying that, yes, I'm just or might be exaggerating or some of you might just flat out ignore this, because you don't care and becasue food is life. Indeed, food is life. But sometimes it also isn't. It could be the opposite. To make my intentions clear, I do not mean to trify you to take away your right to freely choose what you eat. This is just a fair warning from a very concerned citizen. And it's your choice to listen or in this case to read or not, because, after all life is full of choices.
