Leave Corning and head towards Watkins Glen at the south end of Seneca Lake. Watkins Glen State Park is one of our most popular visitor destinations because of the scenery of the 19 waterfalls and the gorge itself. In the village of Watkins Glen you will find dining and boat excursions. Seneca Lake is a long slender lake with wineries along both sides. Traveling up either side will be a beautiful drive and you will end up in the small city of Geneva. In Geneva you can walk the north shore of Seneca Lake. From there you can head east towards Syracuse to visit Destiny USA, which is the sixth largest shopping destination in the nation, combining traditional retail, outlets, fine dining and entertainment. 1 TAVERN ON THE GREEN, NEW YORK, NY 10023 212-877-TOTG (8684) VISIT US AT TAVERNONTHEGREEN.COM

Restaurateurs Jim Caiola and David Salama have created a Tavern for this generation of diners. Jim and David’s aim to re-establish Tavern On The Green as a restaurant for all restores this renowned dining hub to its Upper West Side neighborhood. Tavern On The Green celebrates New York and Central Park in all its glory, embracing the limitless, delicious foods for which this diverse culinary city is known. The menu by our chef is celebratory and accessible with a nod to Tavern’s storied history. The menu brings elegance, simplicity, and amazing fresh flavors to Tavern on the Green. The experience begins the moment one enters Central Park on West 67th Street and comes face-to-face with the grand, red canopy inspired by photographs from the 1940’s, and a 110-seat garden where guests can enjoy cocktails. A curved trellis of espalier fruit trees highlights the restored brick wall and a series of planters surrounds the terrace perimeter. Once in the building, wood-beamed

cathedral ceilings and the dark stained Parquet de Versaille flooring give immediate intimacy to the space. The Bar Room is dominated by a large oval dark mahogany bar with a semi-circular red high backed banquette and warm casual seating around the perimeter. All patrons pass through the lively scene on the way to the bustling atrium-inspired modern 140-seat Central Park room with off-white leather tables, ivory-stained wood chairs and cheerful banquettes covered in grey and yellow sun-patterned fabric. At one end, glass-enclosed, is a view of Central Park and the 300-seat Courtyard with panoramic views of the Central Park West skyline and the vast sheep meadow. With an outdoor bar, light poles, rich stone paving and newly

Tavern On The Green is a perfect blend of old and new creating a warm, celebratory gathering space that captures the spirit of Central Park and the energy of New York City.

planted specimen trees, it is New York’s most spectacular outdoor dining experience. The South Wing is a quieter affair with 120 seats, painted mirror panels and upholstered walls with green and brown fabric furniture. It is a lighter version of the bar room with painted-wood paneled walls. In addition to a la carte, this room is the main area of Tavern used for private events. This room leads to the South Terrace, which can be tented, and wraps around to the “Green to Go” window easily accessible from the Bridle Path and offers simple, organic, and healthy sandwiches, drinks, and snacks.

The city pitched in to rebuild the beloved, but gigantic, landmark, and Philadelphia restaurateurs Jim Caiola and David Salama did the rest. They brought in a chef and décor that embraces the park and harkens back to the restaurant’s 1934 origin. To much fanfare (and relief), Tavern on the Green reopened. Vanity Fair

Tavern has always had a gift for making dinner into a celebration. That is a useful talent at Tavern on the Green, where many people go for many different reasons but where everyone has some expectation that it ought to be fun. And it will be, the menus are lighthearted and eager to please.

Pete Wells, The New York Times

The cooking, a highly skilled distillation of the Tavern brand, a blend of American bigness, New York authenticity, retro romance, and just a little fantasy to suit the still-magical surroundings.
