Super Lemon Haze AROMA

Lemon drops may come to mind when someone brings this fruity aromatic strain into the room. A skunk aroma is oddly pleasant and combined with fresh citrus, and just the right ratio of earthiness to sour fruit.

FLAVOR

GENETICS

The bag appeal is on point. Conical, tightly clustered flowers of a deep evergreen hue, the sparse sugar leaves are completely coated in resin and just as seductive as the glistening buds. It is perfectly dense and firm with almost no give when squeezed, yet easy to break up and crumble to a finely ground consistency.

LOOKS

Brilliant white trichomes shine like the dusting of sugar on a sour lemon drop. The deep verdant leaves are highlighted with an outer maze of fine crimson hairs that wind through the glistening trichome constellation.

Edibles by Blue Roots Cannabis Co. Crafted to Elevate

6 |

The exhilarating citrus sour flavor is first to come forward with skunky traces revealed on the exhale. Each pungent inhale leaves a refreshingly minty aftertaste carrying a hint of fresh lemon that lingers.

THERAPEUTIC BENEFITS

Boasting the uplifting euphoria of a high quality sativa, it’s no wonder Super Lemon Haze has been said to relieve stress and depression.

EFFECT

From the satisfying flavor to the instant mental levitation that follows, Super Lemon Haze is a strain tailor-made for pleasure seekers. A burst of energy and creativity characterizes this highly cerebral and tasty strain.

EDIBLE

AN IN - HOUSE chocolatier painstakingly selects all ingredients with great care, crafting the Blue Roots Cannabis Co. flavors to mix perfectly with their home-made cannabis extracts. Sometimes the flavor of some infused sweets can be slightly bitter or worse, dry, causing most to reach for a glass of milk to wash it down, but this company has overcome that common pitfall with their delectable edibles. It’s easy to forget there is 10mg of THC in their decadent, dark chocolate

GENETICS

With heavily touted therapeutic properties, UW Purple is a powerful indica said to be pilfered from a UW greenhouse in the 80’s that was involved at the time with alternative cancer treatment research.

AROMA

A pleasantly pungent aroma that gently tickles the nose with its herbal aroma, rich with rosemary and clove. Appealing spicy characteristics come from abundant Linalool and Myrcene.

FLAVOR

A warm herbaceous rosemary is nearly overshadowed by the taste of lavender that dominates, refreshing the palate; A great taste herbal taste with a smooth smoke.

APPEARANCE

Golden shards of the wax glisten and glow in the sunlight with incredible clarity and no signs of impurities. As flecks of light catch the surface, the oily sheen seems to radiate with an ephemeral glow from its slightly opalescent qualities.

EFFECT

My experience included a tingling sensation over most of my body, my eyelids are heavy and movement seems more relaxed; everything feels loose in both mind and body. This is a potent sedative and may cause drowsiness so it may be best for nighttime use.

THERAPEUTIC BENEFITS

UW Purp does not disappoint, with many reporting heavy indica traits assisting with insomnia, appetite loss, and stress. A heavy body effect is often said to provide significant pain relief to patients.

that seems to have just the right melting point (the sign of true chocolate masters). Their Wild Orange variety was definately our favorite; we thought we’d have to wait until Christmas to experience that perfect blend of chocolate and orange! The Dark Cardamom Chile was also a highlight, and with its invigorat-

ing spicy kick it’s sure to please both chocolate lovers and heat enthusiasts. An impressive array of flavors, high potency and gorgeous presentation make these edibles by Blue Roots Cannabis Co. an irresistible treat, fortunately available throughout Spokane, in just about every cannabis retailer.

THE PEOPLE

Satori is owned by cannabis pioneer, Justin Wilson. He’s been blazing trails in the industry for years via Piece of Mind--the quintessential glass shops that sprawl the pacific and inland northwest. As he says, “Our society has awakened to the fact that [cannabis] isn’t that bad. As a matter of fact, it’s fuckin’ fun!! And useful. And beautiful. Finally it’s legal for us to enjoy its psychoactive side effects, put a smile on our faces and make the world a better place.” Wilson is assisted by his right hand man and general manager, Daniel Wendling. As Wilson describes it, “I am the visionary, and he gets the job done.”

THE PLANT

The number one supplier of flowers to Satori is the locally owned and operated 502 power house, Phat Panda. Their OG Chem and Golden Pineapple are staples of the recreational cannabis industry in Washington State. The team at Phat Panda has also recently planted a new signature strain no one will want to miss that will carry the Satori name.

Burning Out In Evergreen State Wildfires Effect Cannabis Businesses

I

N EASTERN Washington there is no escaping it: the panic, the flames, the horrible smoke that’s made us all feel like we’re living in a big-budget disaster flick; wildfires have placed us in a state of emergency. Despite impressive firefighting efforts at both the

state and federal levels, over 100,000 acres of land has been consumed by the scattered and unpredictable blaze. State reporters have spilled much ink on the subject of the timber and fruit industry’s suffering from the flames but, arguably, not enough has been said about how hard the cannabis industry has been hit (ok, we couldn’t resist). Cannabis has quickly become an important cash crop in Washington, and it is responsible for net sales of 260 million dollars as well as 190 million in tax revenue in just the past year. There are many other adverse effects, aside from the obvious loss of crops directly to the flames, that threaten Washington State’s budding cannabis industry. Curtis Phillips runs a successful cannabis farm in Wenatchee known as Green Ghost. Flames have not touched any of his crops but his plants still face many other dangers. “It’s the smoke that’s the problem,” says Phillips, “Aside from how bad it is to be out working in it, it also blocks the sunlight that the plants need to survive.” Loss of sunlight can be detrimental to the development of female, bud-bearing plants. Many farmers are faced with a situation in which their plants have flowered prematurely as a result of the sun loss. Prematurely flowered plants are less potent than those that bloom on schedule, and therefore do not command as high of a price when they hit the retail market. It’s bad for the growers who depend on profits from their plants as well as consumers who demand a high quality product. The

smoke can also have a tangible effect on the aroma of the buds. Smoke is nowhere to be found among the many flavors that cannabis connoisseurs enjoy when blazing a bowl. Unfortunately, with the high concentration of smoke in the air from wildfires, it is inevitable that some buds will absorb that smell. A bud that

emits an overly smoky flavor when lit is difficult to market. This is especially true when there is some controversy as to whether the smoke absorbed by buds could produce respiratory damage in users. This issue if in fact found to be true would be especially alarming for medical users who need assurance of their products’ purity. Curtis has worked hard to overcome the difficult growing conditions caused by the wildfires and looks forward to harvesting healthy plants. “We got lucky. Our plants still look and smell great,” says Phillips, “but I’m concerned for other growers who may not been so fortunate.” Between the harmful smoke, the loss of crops and the closure of roads, Washington’s cannabis industry has suffered a substantial blow, with a currently unknown damage toll at the hands of the wildfires. Cannabis farms do not enjoy the same insurance benefits as growers in the fruit and timber industries nor do they arouse the same amount of public awareness and concern. What we need to realize, as Washingtonians, is that cannabis is a positive force in our state’s economy and its continued growth is in all of our best interest; we voted for this! With this in mind, it is also important that the rest of the cannabis community that can help, does. People can also get involved in the effort to control and prevent wildfires, and inquire locally about how to support wildfire relief in their area. Let’s face it: there is a right and a wrong way to burn your buds.
