In the words of visionary artist Joan Miró, “You can look at a picture for a week and never think of it again. You can also look at a picture for a second and think of it all your life.” As you embark on this visual journey, I invite you to reflect on the power of images. They can serve as windows to distant worlds and as treasure troves for cherished memories. Here, you will discover masterpieces from virtuoso artists, from Picasso in Milan to Brancusi in Paris; snapshots of legendary photographers from Herb Ritts (our cover) to Herman Leonard; as well as dazzling views of Dubai from The Lana and of Rome from Hotel Eden and other magnificent details of luxury. Each image extends an invitation to explore with the mind but also to wake one’s curiosity to go out and visit these places… for experiences and memories that could last forever.

A word from Dorchester Collection’s CEOs

This year marks a celebration of new beginnings, heralding incredible new milestones in Dorchester Collection’s cherished legacy. The grand unveiling of The Lana in Dubai, our first ever property in the Middle East, signifies the next chapter in our history. Having welcomed its first guests in February, The Lana was one of the year’s most anticipated hotel openings, and it continues to be celebrated for its exceptional design and prime location in one of the world’s most vibrant cities.

Architects Foster + Partners have designed a stunning 30-storey building that reshapes the Marasi Bay Marina skyline and boasts a commanding view of the Burj Khalifa. With 225 elegant rooms and suites this graceful building is home to Dubai’s ultimate expression of trusted hospitality and elevated living. In crafting the interiors, Gilles & Boissier encapsulates the vibrant culture of the UAE, placing a spotlight on intricate details and employing a diverse range of textures. The Lana’s five signature suites – Marina Duplex and Marina Terrace Suites – have unique duplex layouts, and outdoor terraces on both levels. For innovative gastronomy, The Lana is home to eight restaurant and mixology concepts, four developed in collaboration with famed Michelin-starred chefs – Jean Imbert, Martín Berasategui, and pastry chef, Angelo Musa. An ultra-luxurious wellness destination, The Dior Spa, the first in the UAE, features cutting-edge technology treatments alongside stunning views of the city, benefiting from the spa’s elevated position.

Back at the heart of our collection, The Dorchester in London continues to radiate with renewed brilliance following recent renovations. As a part of the uplifting of its decor, numerous artworks by British artists, ranging from established to up-and-coming talents, now adorn the walls of its communal spaces. One notable addition is a richly textured button-panel artwork by Ann Carrington, inspired by the Queen Elizabeth II postage stamp.

At 45 Park Lane, Sushi Kanesaka is making waves in London’s culinary scene: one of the city’s most luxurious dining experiences, it has now been awarded its first Michelin star. Chef Shinji Kanesaka hones the precise art of Edomae sushi in its purest form, presenting an omakase experience that allows your chef to choose the very finest delicacies of the moment for you. The awarding of this Michelin star is a welcome addition to our UK restaurants’ bright constellation, including three Michelin-starred Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester and one Michelin-starred Woven by Adam Smith.

Beyond exquisite taste, healthy eating habits also take centre stage in our gastronomic offerings. Each hotel, in collaboration with talented chefs and a nutrition consultant, has developed its unique Wellness Menu for room service, sourcing from local suppliers, ensuring that our guests can indulge in culinary delights that not only tantalise the taste buds but also contribute to their overall wellbeing.

As we move forward and begin new chapters, we remain true to the principles that have shaped our legacy throughout the years: a passion and dedication to crafting unparalleled experiences and an unwavering commitment to our guests. With this excitement for the future, we invite you to continue this extraordinary journey with us here at Dorchester Collection, where every moment is elevated into the exceptional.
