CAMPUS MINISTRIES

The Dordt Difference At Dordt College students are encouraged to think, question, and prepare for their calling in God’s world. This focus is evident in the classroom and is supported by a variety of campus ministry and outreach programs. WORSHIP The Dordt community gathers regularly for times of worship. While not substitutes for Sunday worship services, they are a vital part of the campus culture. • GIFT meets every other week on Sunday evenings for worship and a reflective message. • At Wellspring students share their stories and struggles and share life experiences. • Praise and Worship hour happens every Thursday night as students gather for singing and prayer. • Wednesday Chapel is a non-mandatory, highly attended, campuswide gathering of faculty, staff, and students.
SERVICE Campus Ministries partners with our Community Outreach Program (COPS) to develop lasting relationships with nonprofit organizations in the area. From after-school programs to working with Habitat for Humanity, from prison ministries to raking leaves for shut-ins, COPS serves our community by providing service opportunities.
MISSIONS PLIA (Putting Love Into Action) sponsors domestic service projects, sending an average of 130 students across the country over spring break to participate in service mission projects. AMOR (A Mission OutReach) is our international mission/vision trip over Christmas break, which involves partnering with NGOs to explore how our studies apply to lifetime missional living.
SMALL GROUPS Most Dordt people agree that what makes the college unique is “community.” Here, life happens together. Small groups allow students to invite others into the process of growth in their lives. Whether it is focused around a sports team or a Bible study, small groups are a great way to get to know God, yourself, and others on a deeper level.
CARE Working closely with Dordt’s Counseling Center, Campus Ministries provides pastoral care for students in crisis or students wrestling with aspects of their spiritual walk.
