Dordt College’s health and human performance (HHP) programs will help you become an expert in the human body. You’ll learn the key to longterm fitness within a perspective of living in God’s world. “The emphasis in Dordt’s program is on the life and development of the whole person,” says Craig Stiemsma, chair of the HHP department. “Our program emphasizes physical health as a way to provide balance to a life that is focused on serving our Lord.”
THE FACILITIES THE RECREATION CENTER Dordt’s recreation complex is an impressive facility that provides fitness and recreation opportunities to the entire campus community. It is home to the HHP department and benefits HHP majors directly. Recreation majors can put their learning into practice as they use fitness assessment and exercise equipment similar to what they may work with on the job. a 120,000-square-foot complex • volleyball and basketball court • weight room and fitness room • an aerobics room • NCAA regulation-size rubberized indoor track surrounding three courts for indoor track and field events • tennis and racquetball courts • a gymnastics room with an Olympicstyle spring floor • a 2,200-seat gymnasium • batting cages
THE ALL SEASONS CENTER The All Seasons Center is located across the street from campus. Run by the city of Sioux Center, it gives Dordt College students access to both the swimming and ice facilities. indoor swimming • water aerobics • ice skating • ice hockey
