78. Who are appointed to attend school (¶416.6)? (List alphabetically all those whose prime appointment is to attend school.) Name Clergy Status School N/A 79. Where are the diaconal ministers appointed for the ensuing year (¶310) [1992 Discipline ]? (Attach list) N/A 80. What other personal notations should be made? (Include such matters as changes in pension credit (¶1506.5), corrections or additions to matters reported in the "Business of the Annual Conference" form in previous years, and legal name changes of clergy members and diaconal ministers.) -- Hebron UMC in the Northwest District was not properly closed in 2018, as reported in Q14f(4) -- Q19a of the 2018 BAC, Dylan Dethlefsen was listed in error. He has not been certified. -- Q41 Eugene Moeller and Marilyn, should have been listed in Q19b. They were originally certified in 2008, and were accepted by the Missouri Conference on July 1, 2017. --Brenda Goodman – appointed July 2018 as SY but was PL, added to Q 21b, added to count Q 57 - Barbara Krumm should not have been listed in Question 21b) in the 2018 Journal. --Autumn Krueger’s appointment in Q49 started on 7/1/2017. Both 2017 and 2018 should have reflected that. -- Suzi Grote, approved for a license, but not appointed, in the 2018 questions is now Suzi Larson. -- In Q57a, Robert Salmonson, FE, was appointed to leave of absence. He was listed both there and as an elder in full connection appointed to a local church. -- In Q57a, Steven Trefz, FE, was appointed to extension (Q76a). He was counted here among those FE appointed to local churches and among those appointed to extension ministries. So, the category for FE appointed to local churches should have totaled 59, considering the Salmonson and Trefz errors. That makes the total of FE 253. -- In Q57a, Michele Slott, an FL appointed to a local church, was omitted. That changes the number of FL appointed to the local church to 36. That makes the total of FL 38. Considering the Salmonson, Trefz and Slott errors, the total of all clergy in Q57a should have been 350. -- In Q57b, Robert Salmonson, FE, is mixed race. He was listed both there and in the category for white male FE. -- In Q57b, Steven Trefz, a white male FE, was listed twice. Considering the Salmonson and Trefz errors, that makes the total of white male FE 180 and the grand total of male FE 189, and the total of all clergy 350. -- In Q57b, the column for female elders in full connection was miscalculated. The grand total of female FE is 64 and the total of all FE is 253. --In Q57b, Michele Slott, a white female FL, was omitted. That makes that number 8 and the grand total of female FLs 9. That leaves the total clergy members unchanged at 351. --Peggy Kieras – listed under Extension Ministries but is retired since 2012, removed from Q.76.b --Henry Jenkins – Q 76b) should have read Creech AFB, NV 81. Where and when shall the next Conference Session be held (¶603.2, 3)? Sioux Falls, SD June 11-13, 2020

Candidates for Comissioning Jeff Lathrop Favorite scripture verse: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” -Ephesians 2:8-10 Jeff holds a Master of Divinity from Sioux Falls Seminary, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He has served the congregations of Plankinton, White Lake, and Huron First in the Dakotas Conference. Jeff also serves as the chair for the Dakotas Conference Committee of Youth Ministry. Jeff is currently serving at Grand Forks Wesley. He first felt his call at church camp. He was afforded the opportunity to attend camp by his church. It was there he first understood who Jesus was and felt the love of Jesus. His faith has been strengthened by various struggles in life and love extended by believers. Pastors Mark Holland and Bob Ruedebush have served as his mentors. He is married to Holly and they have two sons, Noah and Izaiah. His hobbies are reading, walking, meditating, writing and blogging. Jennifer McDonald Three scripture passages that are favorites for Jennifer McDonald: Psalm 51: 10 “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right [ spirit within me. Psalm 139:1-8 O Lord, you have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from far away. You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, O Lord, you know it completely. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is so high that I cannot attain it. Where can I go from your spirit? Or where can I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, you are there. Job 28:38 “And he said to humankind,‘Truly, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom;and to depart from evil is understanding.’” Jennifer holds a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky. While at Asbury, she served a one-year quarter-time assignment as lay supply pastor for Triple Cross Cowboy Church Arena, participated in a Fresh Expressions Pioneer Learning Community with three members of the cowboy church, regularly attended Dai31

ly Eucharist and Estes Chapel worship services on the seminary campus, and academic work. She is currently serving Minot Vincent United Methodist Church. Her call to ministry was defined through two primary channels: serving in a leadership capacity in a local church and taking an on-line introductory biblical study course. She has served as the lay leader at Cody United Methodist Church in Cody, Wyoming. In Cody, was a member of a five-person team for our church as we participated in the “Whole Church Initiative” church revitalization process sponsored by the Yellowstone Annual Conference congregational development team. Jennifer has family in Michigan that she frequently visits. Her hobbies are: here horse, her dog, hunting, watercolors, and calligraphy. Jeanne Sortland Favorite scriptures passages: Acts 5:39: "but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them—in that case you may even be found fighting against God!” Isaiah 43:19: "I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." Jeanne recently completed a Master of Divinity through the Kairos program from Garrett-Evangelical Seminary and Sioux Falls Seminary. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Sciences from North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. Pastor Sortland currently serves the congregations of Kensal and Wimbledon. She first felt her call to ministry as a teenager when she was active in church youth group, camp and mission work. Her life journey, through many struggles has affirmed her call to become an ordained elder. Jeanne is married to Kent. They have four children, two boys and two girls. Her hobbies are: travel, supporting my children in their areas of interest, reading (which I’m hoping to do again for enjoyment now that my seminary journey is coming to an end!), and solving the problems of the world with my husband over morning coffee.

A Covenant Prayer in the Wesleyan Tradition (UMH #607) I am no longer my own, but thine. Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt. Put me to doing, put me to suffering. Let me be employed by thee or laid aside for thee, Exalted for thee or brought low for thee. Let me be full, let me be empty. Let me have all things, let me have nothing. I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal. And now, O Glorious and blessed God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Thou art mine, and I am thine. So be it. And the covenant which I have made on earth, Let it be ratified in heaven. Amen.
