ELEONAS_QUEST R E L O A D E D 9th SEMESTER
2017
The intention of the proposal is the creation of a new circulation system inside Eleonas, mostly for the pedestrians. The design focuses on the housing cores, that are connected with a mazy system, which is the outcome of multiple grids. The circulation is formed like a ‘gameplay’ in the area, in which the pedestrian unveils the new possibilities of space. Our residencies are clusters of specific housing modules, which are designed based on the minimum need of space for a specific number of residents. These modules could form various combinations, in order to avoid an absolute uniformity in the cityscape. A main part of the project, was creating a website as a team, showcasing the project as it unravels. Find the whole project here https://enastudio.wixsite.com/blog

Dance and architecture are both dealing with the relationship of human and space. Dance elaborates the scale of human inside a space, while architecture forms space respective to the human scale. In this proposal we try to work with the scale of dancer in mind.

The world is interpreted as a body of infinite folds and surfaces, which twist and interweave through compressed space and time. Anticles, reflections, traces, prismatic deformations, perspectives, thresholds, folds are downloads that somehow advance the mental life.

A body has both a degree of hardness and a degree of fluidity. We chose to express this interdependence through the art of origami as a basic tool. The container of the human form twists and folds depending on the individual’s psychosomatic condition and vice versa. A flexible or resilient body still contains coherent parts which form a fold.
TH
UN
LD ED
The basic concept of our container is the concept of the folding both the material and the body and their interaction with each other. The way that a semi-flexible material is applied in one form, but also the way the form is complying with its material and form, is a matter that has been concerning and continues to concern the arts of fashion, visual arts but also painting.
The “final” shape of the container results from the connection and intervining of m u l t i p l e _ h y p e r b o l i c _ p a r a b o l o i d s With this composition there are countless forms of creases similar to the shape of the object they are interacting with, which certainly can not be presented in their entire range, as each combination of creases and shapes will always be different. The human body as an organism is defined by endogenous folds, while the origami as an inorganic material has extrinsic folds that arealways determined from the outside or from the environment. There is no change in the dimension of the container and the body, but a transformation, as each is double in heterogeneity and divergency, in a way such as the butterfly that has been folded into the caterpillar and is now unfolded

futuristic

tale.
Cronus in ancient Greek mythology was the leader of the Titans. Afraid of losing his throne by his own children, he was eating them upon their birth (exterminating the weak ones). At this point, the Earth has decayed from overconsumption, greed and gluttony of the 21th century materialistic society, extinguishing all natural resources. The powerful ones in the society (cronuvores) have already colonized the Moon. Technologic evolution offered them pills, serums and other chemical formulas for the gratification of the need of food. But what about the pleasure of cooking and actual eating? This is when humanity remembers it’s brutal instincts and resorts to cannibalistic methods, imitating subconsciously Cronus. The people left behind on earth (preys) are the Cronus ‘children’ now. Meanwhile, an endless cannibalistic survival hunt among the preys-the weak ones - takes place, following the dark path of their primitive ancestors. On this era, earth has converted into an open restaurant, where preys execute for survival and cronuvores for satisfaction and repression. Is it high time for humans to reconsider their excessive behavior and lifestyle in order not to fall into a vicious cycle of decadence of their moral dimension?

Everyone is so caught up in their social media feeds that they don’t even notice a ‘black box’ in the middle of town, let alone notice each other. But what’s going on in that box? A person self reflects literally and metaphorically. Self -reflection lays the groundwork for communicating with others. As we create our virtual image and try to keep up with it through our social media feed, we lose touch with our true inner selves. So how is one expected to communicate effectively face to face with another person without the comfort of their virtual ‘armor’? One needs to meditate, to get in touch with his true lost self. Sit back, relax and see yourself as a third person. What do you see? Do you see someone familiar or someone you only recognize from a social media feed? Our project attempts to look at this phenomenon wih a critical eye. A typical room 3x3x3m is actually a meditation room full of mirrors. You can see yourself as you are, not how others see you, while outside the room, people wander aimlessly, addicted to social media. The mirrors will help you communicate with yourself.

OF_POSSIBILITIES URBAN_TRANSCRIPTS WORKSHOP
2017
Our team worked in analysing individually properties and capacities, that each one of us found more interesting about Philopappou Hill. With this multi-point perspective approach, all of these mappings that occured, created two main parts of the Hill, in which most of our ideas overlapped, creating the two ‘islands’ of possibilities. It’s actually a methodology proposal, about how we could take into consideration everyone’s wishful thoughts about a project that they are involved in, as citizens or as visitors, and create something more unanimous. In the first step, my individual mapping was about trying to translate the flunctuations of the intensity of emotions someone gets strolling in and around the hill, into brainwaves, as well as how these are connected with the expandedness of the gaze, through an isovist mapping.

Μ E T A V A S I S NTUAxRYERSON_UNIVERSITY DIALECTICS_OF_ARCHITECTURE_AND_PLACE
WORKSHOP
2018
The main goal of the studio was the examination of the dialectic relationship of the past and present and the specifics of place and site; how can contemporary architecture connect and affirm past values-ideas with present realities-conditions, and thereby enhance the individual experience of the visitor in order for it to be considered as a universal experience of place, space and time? Kerameikos archaeological site served as the studio’s study case. Today Kerameikos is located close to the centre of modern Athens. It is a site of great importance, yet it is a site that is largely hidden within the fabric of the city. The proposed design attempts to bring visitors closer to the archeological site without touching it. Instead, it focusses on the surrounding area, specifically Ermou Street, which hugs the southern edge of the site. Through a series of design interventions, this spine is re-imagined into a lively pedestrian street that embraces and brings visitors closer to the ancient site. The contrast between the new and the old, separated by the boundary of the site, creates a tension that becomes part of the visitor experience.

LONGINGNESS CITY_AND_BODY
C I T Y L A B _ 2 0 1 8 b WORKSHOP
2018
Eroticism ;the longingness occuring by someone or something for someone. What’s more erotic and pure at the same time from the human body? Despite living in a society where the naked human body is being debased and where most human beings pretent to be or actually are prudes, we propose the creation of public therme in Victoria Square, where the naked human body is celebrated as a symbol of purity and eroticism, that we are indeed in need of. Steam coming outside, light coming inside through mysterious holes that are intriguing to the human spirit and eye.
