THE PANSY PATCH
October/November Recap This October and November our sisters have enjoyed some partaking in some of our favorite fall activities in Tuscaloosa. Many sisters began the new season by taking an annual trip to the Tuscaloosa Barnyard where we got to pet and feed farm animals like ducks, goats and sheep at the petting zoo, take hay bail rides around the idyllic farm, and pick out pumpkins to carve with our sisters. We got into the Halloween spirit at the Theta house during the month of October with our Sunday night Halloween movie watch parties, organized by our HR director Julia Barefoot. All season long our sisters were able to continue to celebrate our favorite fall tradition in Tuscaloosa, cheering on the Tide in Bryant Denny Stadium, which remains undefeated this season so far. In November our sisters continued to excel academically as we prepare to take our finals and wrap up the Fall semester virtualy.

GIVING BACK
This fall our chapter stayed active with our service and philanthropic initiatives while incorporating social distaning into our events. On October 19, each sister participated in a service event to celebrate Thetas National Day of Service. Sisters wrote cards to residents of nursing homes, donated food to a canned food drive, and donated needed items to the Tuscaloosa Safe Center. On October 23-25 our chapter hosted a virtual 5k to raise money for our national philanthropy CASA, which supports children in the foster care system. We were able to raise $5,000 for this cause. And in early Novemeber a few members of our chapter were able to spend the day with Ava Kate, our B+ hero.

Thank you 2020 Exec!
Our chapter wanted to say thank you to our 2020 executive team for all their hard work this year as they transition out of their positions this month. This group of women led our chapter through events and circumstances no one could have seen coming with grace and poise. We wish them all the best luck on any future endeavours.
