If I had a nickel for every disparaging remark about the weather I heard this week, I could throw them all in the air and give people some precipitation to really complain about.

The Drawing Board would like to commemorate the well-lived life of Bonnie Szymanski, 2013 alumna, former comic contributor, and dear friend. Bonnie resides now in a place whose joy far exceeds the folly of our facetious comical endeavors. The following strip is reprinted from our 135th issue, which was published on December 13, 2012. HORROR MOVIE NIGHT AT THE CANDLE THEATRE Happy birthday, Mom!

Editor’s Panel Valued readers, When does break end? I’m a little apprehensive to return to the rigors of classes, but it sure has been wonderful having these two weeks off. Wait, what? One week, you’re telling me. Well I’m in a real pickle here, aren’t I. Fecklessness aside, I do hope you’ve enjoyed this week’s issue. Several of our regular contributors have apparently been kidnapped by academic taskmasters, resulting in their absence from our midst today. The Drawing Board does not negotiate with terrorists or professors--not because of ideological reasons, mostly we just lack the funds--so we will simply cross our fingers for our artists’ safe return next week. Did you know that the publication in your hands is also on ~ + h E i N t 3 R n E T ~ ? Find us at facebook.com/houghton drawingboard and we’ll be the best of friends, I’m sure. Cavalierly, Leah
