The Mayor
ROCHELLE ROBINSON
It’s official - Spring is here! I am so glad to welcome back one of my favorite times of the year. The beautiful flowers, sunshine, and gorgeous weather always make me long to be outside. For that reason and many, many more, I’d like to bring your attention to some programing that the city offers to our citizens. I’m going to highlight the P.D. One of the Police Department’s biggest events is their Spring Festival and Safety Expo on Saturday, April 2nd. This event is always a great way for our officers to be out in the community, enjoying the weather, and meeting our citizens so that they can truly fulfill their motto of “One with our Community”. There are many vendors, music, food, games, and all kinds of fun!
I foresee a positive impact that this program will have on our community. I am proud of our Police Department for continuing to fight crime and make a positive difference in our community. I hope to see you out at some of the various Police Department events this spring! We can enjoy the beautiful weather and celebrate our community together! Happy Spring! God Bless!

Community outreach is such a huge priority for our Police Department. In a time where there can, unfortunately, be conflict between the police and the community they serve, the fact that our Police Chief Gary Sparks, and Deputy Chief Sue Anne Shaw, continue to make outreach and caring about the community one of their top priorities is something that I, as Mayor, greatly appreciate.

The office is part of the effort envisioned in the Taxpayer First Act Report to Congress last year. This included input and feedback from taxpayers, tax professionals and the tax community that helped develop the Taxpayer Experience Strategy. The Report to Congress identified over a hundred different programs and tools that would help taxpayers, including a 360-degree view of taxpayer accounts, expanded e-File and payment options, digital signatures, secure two-way messaging and online accounts for businesses and tax professionals. To help drive the IRS strategic direction for improving the taxpayer experience, the Taxpayer Experience Office has identified key activities the IRS is focusing on over the next five years, including those commitments outlined in the President's Executive Order on Transforming Federal Customer Continues on Page 53.
