MANAGER'S DESK

The City of Douglasville strives to continuously meet its needs and deliver all necessary services to our community To ensure we achieve this, it is crucial that we remain prepared and ready to handle any situation that may arise. September is National Preparedness Month which serves as a reminder for us to prioritize the safety and well-being of our citizens.

Whether it’s a medical emergency, a natural disaster, or any other unforeseen event, the Douglasville Police Department is prepared to handle the thousands of emergency calls that come their way. They are trained to address critical situations with efficiency and professionalism.

Looking for a new way to HIIT your fitness goals?

The Ike Owings Community Center at Hunter Park now offers a state-of-theart fitness room, absolutely FREE to the community. From a complete dumbbell rack to a treadmill machine, we've got your workout essentials covered.

#FunHappensHere

Just like our Police Department, our Public Services Department stands ready to face inclement weather and other lifethreatening conditions caused by nature From downed power lines to fallen trees, they are equipped to respond swiftly and effectively. Their commitment to ensuring the safety of the community is of utmost importance to them.

However, preparedness is not just solely the responsibility of the city administration; it is a shared responsibility among our community as well. I urge you to create a comprehensive plan of action for yourself, your family, and your business. If you need help creating plans such as these, please feel free to contact our Police Department to gather information about what tools

and methods might be needed for your home, school, or business.

For the latest alerts and information, I encourage you to visit our official website at DouglasvilleGA.gov or follow us on social media for all immediate updates.
