It is very important to me, that the viewer gets the same feeling I had, when creating each work. I have miles to go yet, of course. It's a continuing struggle, and learning experience. The texture and depth I achieve, with oil paints, has given me the ability to convey what I see and like best, in painting. The use of watercolour and acrylic mediums, in my early efforts, helped me to evolve. My subject matter is a varied mix, from figurative studies, landscapes, portraiture, and outdoor still life -anything with dramatic lighting. I've attempted to capture the genius strokes of artists like John Singer Sargent, William Bouguereau and Claude Monet. It's not an easy task.
