Merimbula, the tourist hub of the Sapphire Coast, really struggled this summer with thousands of tourists evacuated at the peak of the bushfire crisis. The region is once again open for business and Merimbula is inviting visitors to come and stay - seeing your face will bring a smile to ours! Bring your empty esky, your family, your friends - but please come and help Merimbula's businesses get back on their feet.

10 Merimbula really does have something for everyone, with its beautiful beaches, lakeside restaurants and cafés, great shopping and an array of attractions and accommodation. There are several walking tracks with beautiful views - try from the Wharf to Spencer Park, from the Bridge to Top Lake and around Fishpen. Other things you can do include snorkelling, surfing, cycling, enjoying a scenic flights, tenpin bowling or experiencing native animals or marine creatures up close. Merimbula has some great shopping, with locally owned shops and boutiques lining the main street and tucked away in arcades and courtyards. There are also plenty of cafés with excellent coffee, delicious ice-cream and gelati, and restaurants that feature fresh local seafood, locally-grown produce and vegetarian/vegan options. Whales migrate past Merimbula from September to November each year, feeding and frolicking in the Bay, making it easy to whale watch from on board a boat or from the beach. So come to Merimbula - spend some time in town, spend some time checking out the villages and towns in the region and help put smiles on a lot of faces.

EAT Festival March 6 - 8, 2020 Now in its 8th year, EAT will be held as usual on the picturesque foreshore of Merimbula’s major oyster producing estuary. Here the industry’s best come together in a bustling market style setting to create inspired dishes featuring local produce. The dishes are presented in entrée sizes and prices are capped at $10 per dish. The event is free to enter and runs from 10am - 2pm on Sunday 8th March. But now there’s even more. Everyone’s favourite foodie festival has expanded to include a series of partner events that will provide a richer and more delicious experience for visitors and locals alike. Over the weekend of the Eat Festival, our passionate and creative chefs will work their magic at a number of highquality events. Merimbula Wharf restaurant, will step up to the plate with a Three Chefs Degustation Dinner to open the festivities on Friday March 6th and Wheelers Seafood Restaurant will return with another incarnation of the highly successful Long Table Lunch, where they’ll turn their exquisite culinary skills to uncovering local specialities and pairing them with regional wines on Saturday March 7th. And to complement EAT, we’re offering something to drink too. The inaugural EAT Festival Craft Beer event will be held Saturday March 7th at Rockpool Café Merimbula featuring a selection of bespoke brewers from near and just a little bit far, plus an exclusive beergustation dinner (Sunday March 8th).
