Downtown Atlanta’s New Streetcar System
Event Overview Over 1,000 individuals completed the Run the Rails 5K presented by Siemens. Through the Run the Rails 5K event, Central Atlanta Progress and its partners were able to provide participants with a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to run along the Atlanta Streetcar track to become familiar with the route and with all of the exciting Downtown assets that will soon be connected via the Streetcar. The race received extensive, positive feedback, helping to generate continued anticipation surrounding, and further support for, the upcoming opening of the Atlanta Streetcar system.
Event Results • More than 1,000 individuals completed the Run the Rails 5K with assistance from 70 volunteers. • Electronic newsletters promoting the event reached 12,269 unique readers. Print and broadcast coverage reached 8,660 individual news consumers while online news stories reached 2,363,114 unique viewers. • The dedicated website www.TheAtlantaStreetcarRace.com netted 15,081 page views and our social media posts reached 35,803 unique visitors on Facebook.
