FROM THE PUBLISHER Downtown Publications is excited to be presenting its newest publication for 2012, The Guide. The Guide is designed to be a high-quality stock, convenient size annual publication that will serve as the definitive directory to the communities of Birmingham, Bloomfield Township and Bloomfield Hills. We have designed a publication that is more befitting of these special communities, and we think we are uniquely qualified to capture the essential information for the Birmingham/Bloomfield area. With our monthly newsmagazine, Downtown Birmingham/Bloomfield, we have established a track record of producing a quality, upscale editorial and advertising product that so many local residents tell us they look forward to receiving each month. We will be applying these same high standards to The Guide, 25,000 copies of which will be produced in late March of 2012, the majority of which will be mailed to residents in the area. The Guide will serve as the source of essential information for local residents and newcomers to the area. We will supply detailed information on local governments and both public and private schools, community profiles, houses of worship, along with a variety of information covering other important aspects of living in Birmingham/Bloomfield. As a potential advertiser, you will appreciate that we have chosen a heavier stock and a smaller, convenient size for The Guide because we know that during the course of the year, this special publication will be referenced repeatedly. Our format and stock are considerably more expensive than what other community directories in the past have chosen but we think the investment in a more upscale product will be valued by local residents, who have come to expect nothing less from Downtown Publications. We have a limited number of printed prototypes of The Guide which will allow you to see the actual stock and finished format, so contact Ad Manager Jill Cesarz who can bring one to you or mail you a copy for review. We have also included rate and technical information about The Guide. We have priced The Guide at a level much more competitive than others who have tried to produce something similar in the past. And for businesses who would like us to create their ad, we are not charging for creative/production work. Additionally, we are offering special discounts for advertisers who make an early commitment to join us on the 2012 edition of The Guide. We are also offering attractive discounts for advertisers who pay prior to publication next March. Combined, you can reduce our more than competitive rates by another 20 percent. Lastly, we are offering one business the opportunity of a Presenting Sponsorship which includes your company name and logo on the front cover with the designation that your business is a Presenting Sponsor, along with a full page ad inside The Guide.
