SOUTH PACIFIC VACATIONS Why head off to the South Pacific on your next vacation? Well known South Pacific locations include Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Cook Islands, French Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora Bora, Moorea), Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Tonga, Samoa and the Solomon Islands. These are bucket list destinations that regularly feature on travel inspiration lists published each year. There are good reasons for these recommendations. The South Pacific offers travelers stunning landscapes and scenery, unique wildlife, immersive cultural experiences, and activities suitable for adrenaline junkies right through to total relaxation.

Did you know Australia is as big as the USA? You will not be able to see or do all there is on offer in one visit. New Zealand is much smaller and is well suited to driving vacations. Are you planning on combining South Pacific locations on your trip? For example Australia and Fiji? There is a lot to consider. We can help you navigate all the logistics and develop a tailor made travel plan that is designed specifically for your South Pacific adventure. There truly is something for everyone and even if you have been to any of these locations before, there is so much more to explore.

AUSTRALIA Australia is a great place for a vacation. There are several things to consider when deciding when and where to go. You’ll want to factor in the temperature and climate when making plans. There are a variety of climates ranging from tropical, subtropical, deserts and temperate. Within these you’ll find rugged mountains, tropical rainforests, beautiful coastlines, sandy beaches, metropolitan cities, and outlying areas. Other factors to build into your travel plan are that Southern Hemisphere seasons are opposite to Northern Hemisphere. When it’s winter in the USA, it’s summer in Australia. This will determine what activities are available, not to mention what clothing you'll have to pack.

You will also want to consider taking internal flights between states. Australia is huge and driving is not the best way to make the most of your vacation time, if it is limited. You'll find an efficient network of flights across Australia making it possible to experience different regions easily. Peak seasons, festivals and events, school and public holidays are always busy times. It’s important to book early to have access to the best options. During these times the availability of flights, accommodation and activities become limited and more expensive. Summer is the most expensive time to go to Australia. We can help you work out the best time to go.

COOK ISLANDS There are 15 small islands and two reefs that make up the Cook Islands. The Cook Islands offer visitors beautiful scenery, stunning blue warm waters, rainforests, a fantastic climate and unspoiled natural environment that hasn’t been over commercialized. You won’t find international chains, the pace of life is slower, peaceful and the welcoming locals make your stay special. Spend your time relaxing on the beach, snorkeling, or enjoying a scooter ride around the island where you will find no traffic lights at all. Explore Raratonga’s mountain, or visit Aitutaki, one of the most beautiful atolls in the world. Take an atoll cruise snorkel in the lagoon, dive, try bonefishing or just laying on the beach soaking up the beauty.

Discover the Cook Islands culture. Enjoy Island Night cultural shows to learn about their history through traditional music and dance. Visit an authentic tribal village to hear stories, try your hand at local arts and crafts and feast on delicious local delicacies. The Cook Islands have year round warm, sunny weather with April to November being drier months with an average of 80F. From November to March, tropical showers mean the waterfalls are at their peak and it’s a great time to venture into the mountains to see them. Peak season is July to August when many families from New Zealand and Australia head to the warmer weather to escape winter at home.

You can choose from a variety of vacation packages to Australia, New Zealand, French Polynesia, Fiji and the Cook Islands. We have provided three popular examples, so you can see what is possible. Destination combinations we suggest are: Australia and New Zealand Australia and Fiji Australia and the Cook Islands New Zealand and Fiji New Zealand and the Cook Islands Australia, New Zealand and French Polynesia Australia, New Zealand and Fiji
