Delivering Days For Girls & Lights For Vanuatu

In August 2023, many of the vessels that will sail from Australia to New Caledonia with the Go East Yacht Rally in May will sail onwards to Vanuatu with NC2V Yacht Rally to Vanuatu. These vessels will be carrying some much-anticipated cargo which is intended to be gifted to the people of Tanna & Erromango Islands. As well as school supplies and tools, they will also deliver Days For Girls & Lights For Vanuatu!

In the week before the 2023 Go East Rally departs for New Caledonia, representatives from Days For Girls Queensland will meet with our rally participants who are planning on sailing onwards to Vanuatu with our NC2V Rally and explain how they can assist in delivering 1000 Days for Girls Kits for distribution to the girls and woman in Vanuatu.

For the people of Vanuatu, particularly those in the more remote communities, having solar lighting means they have reliable, environmentally friendly & safe lighting as opposed to lights that require fuel and or batteries that need to be replaced frequently.

With the support of Luci Lights Australia and the generosity of the Australian & International Sailing community, participants in The Down Under Rally NC2V Rally will deliver 132 portable personal solar lights to the people of these remote Vanuatu communities when we visit in August 2023.
